I've been wanting to tell you how much your videos mean to me. I bought a 2006 single-wide mobile home, 16' x 80', with "gable style" metal roof, no overhang, tiny mobile home "gutters". Although there was no rust anywhere on the roof, the gutters were rusted through. They had been installed with what looked like VERY good butyl tape. The only kool-seal on the roof had been applied to the the vent pipe flanges and above "gutters", and it had weathered to the point of peeling. I could find no one that would install new 5" K-style gutters, so I studied your videos and got to thinking, I can handle this. Worst part was ripping old ones off and cleaning the adhesive with a heat gun. Using new 5" aluminum Amerimax gutters, supplies. I assembled 38' at a time, exactly half the length of my home, laying them out on my flat sidewalk to seam. I popped a chalk line 1" higher in the center, apr. 1/4" per 10' joint, of the home than the ends, installed 38' at a time with top edge on the chalk line, putting 2 x 3 downspouts at every corner. I used the the 5" hidden hangers you feature on this video, and screwed at every 4". I also sealed all my seams with 1/8" rivets, and Lexel. Now, I plan to paint the entire roof, down to the gutters with a product named "Elasto-Kool 1000". It's a 10 year Black Jack product in white. I've never used this. Do you recommend it for mobile home roofs? Many Thanks.

So what happens when the drip edge is 2-3 inches wide and impossible to get the gutters behind that drip edge?

Question. What do I do with the old spike holes? Fill them with white silicone?

I was considering doing that to mine. I haven't found any information about people doing that but it makes sense to me.

Yes fill the holes with white silicone. Keep it simple.

How you supposed to get those boogers on when you have a drip edge and shingle overhang sticking out another 1 to 2 inches overtop the gutters? Ive had to bend the things, slide on the outer lip grabber then try and bend it back straight while keeping it attached to the lip until it will go over the inside lip of the gutter and can get to the screw.. hard part is doing that without bending or creasing the gutters themselves relying on that outside lip as a fulcrum for bending the bracket back out…. Just seems like a wrong way to go about it.. like i should be using some different kinda bracket..

I have the same problem. I really don't feel like pulling the gutters off of the house in order to install the bracket. Surely they must make a bracket that works on gutters already installed, but I can't find any. If I have to go to all of that trouble, I'll just install new 5 or 6 inch gutters.

i have the same issue. can’t use these as there is nothing to clip to on the back part of the bracket. i’m going to try gutter screw ferrules that actually grip the wood instead of nails that just slide out.

Just bought a house and the previous owner built a shed but when he did the gutters he only put a screw through the back into the rafter tails. There are no fascias so I went and got those hangers you have and added some..
I also got amerimax wire mesh gutter guards i need to put up but 1st i have to clean out the down spout and also pray that they slope is correct..
I am glad that the gutters on the actual house are installed properly, I noticed in the middle of the gutters that there was a bow in the seam and when it rain the water pools there and overflows right where the shed door is at.. the door is on ground level and I can see where there is slight discoloration from where rain water has gotten to it.
My shed is on a downhill slope right my my treeline in the woods so there are like 3 trees that need prunes where the branches hang over the roof.. tons of leaves dropping on it in the fall along with hickory nuts and other debris.

as a gutter tech this is just my 2 cents but on a house or garage with no fascia you should use T-bar hangers. It a hidden hanger with a little strap that you screw in under the edge of the shingles

Can you adjust those screws to get more lift on gutter so water will flow toward downspout??

So HOW does a person rehang the existing gutter? Does this video include that? Or is it just about promoting gutters?????

I need to re-enforce my existing gutters, but I don’t have any fascia boards on my house. The gutters are just nailed straight into the ends of the rafters. Can I still use these screws without fascia boards?

      @Mixwell1983 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I know your comment is old but my shed doesnt have a fascia so I put hangers into the ends of the rafter tails and it holds well.

@@Mixwell1983 Thank you. I did some research and I realized I didn’t need fascia boards. I fixed my gutters. They turned out great.

They make a much better hanger than that. They make hangers that are level, and do not angle downwards towards the house. Angled like that molecular adhesion pulls the water towards the fascia and with time can rot the wood. Leaf free sells a much better gutter guard than shown here. What he has shown here acts like a trough catching and holding leaves. We would never use inferior products like these hacks.

    Gutter nails should be outlawed

Agreed - nails for support are really poor engineering. Nails slip out, period. No support structurally in comparison to the engineered brackets suggested and recommended here. Great information "Everything Gutter".

I've never even heard of gutter nails myself. I've only installed a handful of gutters (it's not my job) but I know enough about nails to tell you that nailing one up is insane!
