    This is a good business to start as it is simple and all you have to do is learn how to handle a ladder like a pro, conquer your fear of heights and understand the importance of rainwater control. The home owner will pay a suprisingly decent amount of money for a service call to have somebody come by with a ladder, run around the yard, blow the roof off, clean the gutters and check downspouts for clogs. Success in this business is the art of great customer service for the proud home owner. They will pay more to have moss treated and your can expand the business to include window cleaning and roof cleaning. I've been doing this for many years and it pays quite well. I do very little marketing as most jobs are repeat clients and referrals.

    Can you just install oversized downspout outlets along with 6" downspouts on 5" gutters? That way,you get a self cleaning action when it rains.

    So you not only have plastic gutters but when the rain water pours out of the downpipe it flows directly on the ground next to the foundation or basement?
    Maybe you want to consider leading it away a bit so it can seep away where it does no harm or even better lead it in some sort of sewerage system?

    • @Mixwell1983
      @Mixwell1983 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's why it is graded around your foundation at a pitch so the water flows away from your house.

    Im very confused that there's so little professionalism to this job. Anyone could do this by themselves.
    They don't even bring a bucket, instead they just throw the debris on the yard/plantation.
    Also there are specific gutter cleaning attachments for leaf blowers but they also don't have those

    Once, my house had these plants. I decided to clean them when the next door neighbor came with a professional cleaners and told me that she would pay them to clean it. I cleaned it myself next-day.

    why don't the roof just cover the gutter so rain and dirt just fall off? I live in an apartment so I don't know how houses work sorry😅

    • @whiteknightcat
      @whiteknightcat 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because if the roof covered the gutters, the water would flow right off the roof past the gutter tops and onto the ground, rendering them useless.

    • @ek9826
      @ek9826 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@whiteknightcat im sorry same question, i live in another country too.
      then why not just extend the roof anyway & have no gutters?

    • @whiteknightcat
      @whiteknightcat 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ek9826 Because the whole purpose of guttering is to redirect water away from the edges of the house. With my house, for example, there's a curtain of water running off the roof across the front entrance when it rains, making entry and exit difficult. Gutters will cure this (when they get installed WEEKS from now - there's a metal shortage now).
      In other cases, some houses suffer from foundation or basement damage from water accumulating from roof runoff. Gutters, downspouts, and runoff systems will direct the water away from the foundation, saving lots of money and headaches.

    Never set a extension ladder on gutter, it could bend and make you fall plus ruin the gutter. I know from past experience!!
