You did a great job and that 1st image was indeed top notch, right up there with the best from the location, well done., I am surprised you didn't venture up the other path at the top falls as there are a few other little gems on that side... also further up from the falls is a small copse of trees that I am sure you would love - keep it in mind for a future visit. Inspiration is a difficult thing to pigeon hole to one person but of course Joe Cornish is amongst the finest... he's a real nice guy when you meet him too... also I love the work of Alex Nail for his mountain landscapes, that is more admiration than inspiration mind... to attain the level of photography that he gets I would have to be more than a hobbyist. @@sotonrob ohhh I am so with you. But as you know my friend, I do look at your work with a sense of awe. Excellent choice sir 😍
Thanks so much Louise for your comment 😊
Lovely set of images. I've been in the same situation where I've shot a brilliant photograph at the start and everything else after that just feels a bit meh. Not a bad problem to have though. :-)
That is very true Julian. It was definitely a peaking too early day. 😉 I hope i you ou are well and actually out and about either your camera? 👍
@@louisewelcomephotography Better to peak too soon than not all! lol Yes, still getting out there and taking pics. I'm keeping my blog up to date with weekly posts but should get back to video in the new year! Have a great time over the festive period. 🙂
@ and you too. Hoping to meet up and put the world to rights with you next year 👍
@@louisewelcomephotography I would like that very much! 🙂
I am always surprised how people fall in love with the place so maybe I just take it for granted as it's local ish for me ? Have to say Martin is a top guy and I have been out with him a few times & his work is indeed inspirational. A strange one I suppose but sometimes I get inspiration from watching other peoples vlogs who might not be photographers but have a great eye for b-roll atb Alan
@@thevalleywalker hi Alan, thank you for the tip re the location and who to seek inspiration from. I often watch walking vids from an area as the insight is so valuable.
Martin is talented … and a top guy… argh, surely he has a fault 😉😂?
Now I’m not sure why we stopped just after the big fall. I’ve looked at the OS and it even says about the falls up there… twit! Soooo I’m going to return in the spring green season to take a proper look. Thank you 🙏 have a good Sunday and keep safe in this storm.
@@thevalleywalker ahhhh Alan, just realised this is you… hurrah 👍
@@louisewelcomephotography Ye its me? 🤣
I think you are being too critical. Lovely images especially the first waterfall although my favourite is at 5.40. We all need to get out but with the warnings and threats from todays storm, its lovely to be taken to a new place. Thank you, Louise.
@@trevorburton4429 ohhh Trevor, thank you. My goodness the recent storms are truly frightening for those who are in their path. Watching the weather report and news is both sad and sobering. Keep safe sir 🙏
Nice one Louise, I always shot for yourself and Nuts to anyone else, well unless they are paying you !
@@paultrunfull3324 an important distinction there Paul 😉😂. That made me laugh, thank you 👍
It might look like a tripod but I bet your other half is carrying a cricket bat and a tin of linseed oil. Haha....
lol… he would if he could. That made me chuckle, and him too. Thank you 😉😂
"The visual impact of Martin's" dear Louise could not ever be the visual impact of your image at 7:11 in. You've not gotten a bad case of imposter syndrome have you? Your image doesn't necessarily need to be impactful or visionary. Sometimes I take a photo without knowing anything about its particular vision until hours, days, months, or years afterward.
Ohhh TC… you may be right there. When I was a head teacher I had to fight imposter syndrome big time… it never occurred to me that it might creep into something I love so much! Now… to get over it! Cheers man, appreciated 👍
Well done for being a fussy mare - don't thank me for that, you're Welcome!
@@hjones451 😂😂 that made me chuckle, thank you 👍.
@@louisewelcomephotography It's good to chuckle - to me, to you!!!
@@louisewelcomephotography perhaps you have never watched 'The Chuckle Brothers'?
@@hjones451 I am a woman of a certain age (50 in 3 days … ugh) I very much know them. 😉
@@louisewelcomephotography The only two comedians I know who have found a rhino in their bedroom (In a comedy sketch of course) - still being battered by Storm Darragh here - Keep well
I suggest
Take your favourite image from this, and add a gaussian blur to it. Quite a strong one.
Make a black and white version of each.
To both of your colour images, add an HSL layer. Tick "cyanotype."
I'm on chemo again. And BOM is offering 40+. It's promised cooler for the 25th, but that's a promise often honoured in the breaking.
@@oneeyedphotographer Hey John, thank you. I will certainly give that a go…. Thank you! 👍. John, I’m so sorry you are having to go through that yet again. I have close relatives and friends who are also. Just… I’m thinking of you man esp on 25th…. The cooler 🤞. Again, thank you.
