- So I have had too many visits to the aviary this weekend from what appears to be a young female Sparrow Hawk!.. so I tried to catch it!… didn’t happen!… but it will!

its a £2000 fine for attempting to catch a sparrowhawk even if you are going to let it go again.

Hang old 💿 cd discs on your aviary and put a plastic Eagle owl on top will keep that sparrowhawk away 👍

Moles are cool to catch!.. we used to catch them on a golf course I worked on!.. using just patience and a spade!

Sparrowhawks don’t just terrorise your aviary. They also ambush birds through hedges or on a bird feeder, Male Sparrowhawks tend to prey on smaller species of birds such as sparrows tits starlings thrushes and finches. And rarely take prey larger than a Mistle thrush. Whereas Female Sparrowhawks will also take larger birds such as feral pigeons Wood pigeons collared doves magpies jays and jackdaws

No.. it can if it wanted to but the birds are to clever at getting away

What food would you suggest?.. go pet shop and get some day old chicks or mice?.. or raw meat like chicken?

Sorry but they have been protected far too long numbers are so bad poor songbirds dont have a chance time for a eduction in fact so bad one couldnt find any songbirds and had to kill a kestrel
