FIRST 15 MINUTES OF THE SECRET LIFE OF THE SPARROWHAWK DVD

A 15 minute trailer in to The Secret Life Of The Sparrowhawk filmed and directed by Dave Culley narrated by Chris Packham the film carries on being 58 minutes long showing egg laying/ hatching adults hunting catching prey juvaniles catching there first prey at 7 weeks old.
And covers all the wildlife around the sparrowhawks nest to all juvaniles and adults dispursing
after many years of contacting british film makers to make this film no one wanted to do it,some saying its virtually impossible to do.
Not a camera man myself never doing this before i set off spending ten years to achieve it.
spending 99 percent on my own it was extremly difficult as i could only be at one place at a time sitting in hides,if 3 cameramen where here all the time it could have been achieved in 2 seasons,with all my knowledge of there behaviour, i knew when to film and when not to, so if other cameramen would have helped shots would have been guaranteed without wasting precious time.

Superb! Nice background score. Good piece of work. I stated studying about sporrowhalk just after seeing it’s hunting a pigeon in my garden.( I can see many have the same experience who have commented below) 😆

1980 i came across a wood pigeon nest in a woods not far from me. in may a sparrowhawk had built a nest on top of it, the following year a Buzzard built a nest on top of the sparrowhawk.. so it does happen

The male Sparrowhawk that comes into my garden isnt that shy he flew at me twice made contact with my head the last time think it was his wings as he turned to go again ,as i wasnt cut but with the force he hit me i thought he would be on the ground injured but was gone that quick i was putting up fat balls at my feeding station.The other time i was bent down looking into my pond n he flew right at me always comes from my blind side very smart.There was a storm and as it was dieing down i went out to put back up a peanut feeder and when i was there he flew right in overhead and began displaying in the wind i mean right over me about 25ft up less it was great to see just similar to a Kestrel but couldnt hold the one spot as well.The Sparrowhawk in my garden is like the one at 58 sec a male my one has 2 white spots on his back to THEY ARE A CLASS CLASS BIRD

Saw a female sparrowhawk fairly close up recently during the summer months, just after she had made a magpie kill. Beautiful bird with piercing eyes, will never forget the encounter.
