@@mattisulanto @Robin Wong Guys, you sure know i am watching your videos for a while, and you might know i was considering M.Zuiko 12-100 for a while.
I was line one week from purchasing one, when i went to shop to get some photo accessories, and by the way i asked what they have for Micro 4/3 format Second-hand and they had just one M1 Mark II body, M.Zuiko ED 9-18mm F4-5.6 and Lumix Vario 35-100 F2.8.
I have taken a good look on the last lens Vario 35-100 F2.8, found out that its either damaged. The focusing was snapping fast, however a simple test shot of figurine revealed that the focus was off. At the same time i compared the shots wih M.Zuiko 12-100 F4. Lumix had surprisingly much better histogram, and M.Zuiko had perfectly working focus. So i visited the shop on the next day, and i re-tested newer model Vario 35-100 F2.8 (mark) II. It kept better histogram compared to M.Zuiko, but second Lumix Vario 35-100 had perfectly working focus.
Now... my style of photography means that I walk a lot, with camera in my hand. Both bodies i use (Original M10 and M5 Mark III) are quite light, while my standard zoom M.Zuiko 12-40 F2.8 does not cause trouble for me. Lumix 35-100 F2.8 covers for me the "tele" focal range, but both lenses are almost equally heavy - 382 grams for 12-40, and 357 grams for 35-100. Both are almost equally large - 84 and 99 mm, and both are weather sealed.
The size and the weight became for me the dealbreaker. M.Zuiko 12-100 weights almost 2x as any of these, its the largest so it would be a problem carry it for 6 hours straight.
But to give an opinion on reviewed 35-100 F4-5,6... I would fit into my "compact" set which is M10 + M.Zuiko 14-42 Ez 3,5-5,6 "Pancake". It would still fit in the smallest bag i have, while keeping same focal range as my weather sealed large set.

I basicly want one lense (as i now use the Kit one) for the whole holiday.. One which offers a great variety / zoom / to use nearly like a great point and shoot camera.. Can somebody help which lense could be the right for me? Thanks

I just bought this lens and it's mounted on my Olympus Pen F at the moment. It's surprisingly sharp and has good contrast. This is the type of lens that makes MFT attractive. Try finding a 70-200mm full frame lens that's this small and this good.

Thanks! I knew you'd like this lens. I have had it for a few years and still enjoy using it. I often use it on holiday in combination with the 12-32. They are both so tiny. I have the GX80 so I benefit from a small camera body and Dual IS. I know you said you don't feel it has character and I sort of understand. But you know, it takes sharp images even zoomed in to 100mm. The bokeh is nice enough for me. Thanks again for taking this lens for a spin, excellent video :-)

i agree completely . I have this lens . It makes a lot of sense on a older non ibis body like my G6 and its 14-42 mkII that shares the 46mm filter size . It is also good enough for a small modern body like my Gx9 .
That said, even if sometimes it is nice to have such a tiny tele zoom lens , there are several small excellent primes within or close to the focal range that are a big reason to be in M43 like the 25mm f1.8, 1.7 and 1.4 , the 45mm f1.8 and 42.5mm f1.7 and the 60mm f2.8s . Still, at 100mm , it's a unique way of getting good results in a tiny package.

The only way to get clear shots is to shoot through the holes in the net or fence but my long telephotos are too large to fit through there. Smaller, lighter, closer to 200mm (35mm equivalent) I have both and they both have their place in my kit bag

Hi can i use this lens with an Olympus Pen E-PL10 camera please? I wanted something with a bit better zoom than the pancake kit lens that came with the Pen 10 but small like this one. Also i am no good at mm so how far would you say id be able to zoom? Like a camera with a lens attached has like 20x zoom or 30x zoom etc?

Would you like to replace the kit lens that came with your camera or would you like a second lens to compliment the kit lens?

@@mattisulanto I cannot buy the camera on Amazon without the kit lens, so yes I suppose it would be a second lens. Although with having a bit of a hand shake I would rather not have to keep changing lens. I would rather just leave the lens on if it would be enough for all I want to do ie distance, close up, birds, night shots, video etc etc.

@@AndriaMrs I think you could be better off with something like 14-150mm lens or something similar, if you'd like to keep the same lens on the camera all the time.

@@mattisulanto Ah ok thanks. I had that one and had to return it as it made the camera too big and awkward for me to hold and carry. I think I am out of options and ideas now then. And to be honest I am a bit worn out with all this 2 months of trying to find the right camera for me. If I could go to a shop to see and try that would be great, but being in the extremely vulnerable group I just have to research and buy online. Thank you so so much though for all your help, advice and patience. Stay safe.

@@AndriaMrs Well, you can't have everything😀 This 35-100mm would be great, but then you have to change lenses.
