Great interview and such a sweet shoutout there! Thanks Peter!
Enjoyed! Just yesterday I was in a crowded street market….lots of interesting light, shops and people. Spotted a woman taking a number of photos, quick almost at times from the hip and sometimes lower, maybe a GRIII, or perhaps a lx100 or about that size or less. She was quite effective at getting the photos or at least most folks would never have noticed, which I think is key. Small works so well in an environment like that…keeps it realistic without anyone being impacted. Would love to have seen her results.
Great to see you guys together again. Like your comments and interactions.
Thank you.
Great video, I really enjoy watching you guys talking together while looking at some nice street pictures! 😁😁 Cheers
Thanks, much appreciated.
Don't follow the gear follow the photos, well said Peter. Enjoyed the chat with Peter and the Walkabout. Thanks Matti. 😊
Thanks.
@@ForsgardPeter your welcome Peter
Enjoyable show guys. Thanks for sharing 📸
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!
Thanks!
For a second I thought Peter would also mention Pentti Sammallahti, which is one of my favourite photographers (that nobody ever seems to mention).
Sammallahti is awesome but not that well known to wider audience.
camera gearheads i sometimes watch for fun. i only follow few photography channels but thats just my taste. its like a balanced diet (except mine isnt as much)
I really like this style of content from both of your channels. It's also fun to play with different kit. I've dug out my old Canon IXUS from a million years ago to see what I can get out of it now that I know more about photography. It's nice to work around the limitations . I've also found my old Ricoh 35mm "point and shoot" from the late 80's it still works so may put in a new roll of Ilford ISO 400 and again see what I can get out of it. Keep up the good work.
What are you going to photograph with your Ricoh point and shoot.
Thanks so much. I'm also curious to know what your plans are with the Ricoh.
@@ForsgardPeter Black and white Street photography in London at dusk so can get some great contrast and over exposed street and building lights. As not used film in more than 20 years will probably screw up the first shoot and have no idea if the 36 year old camera has a light leak issue. So should be fun. The camera is an FF9. I am also looking at a vintage PEN half frame which has zone focussing as a photographer friend has had her fathers camera reconditioned and had some great results.
@@mattisulanto Its more of an experiment to see what you can get without all the bells and whistles of a more modern camera. If anything looks good I'll get a big blow up made and frame it. My guess is I'll end up with a blurry mess.
@@simonatterbury I'm sure not every frame is going to be a blurry mess😀It's refreshing to try something different.
Hello Matti, I have planned a test phase with the electronic shutter. Modern Panasonic Lumix cameras do not allow exposure times above 1 second and flash synchronization with the electronic shutter. But you can set the mechanical shutter again for flash and long exposures. I want to test whether I'm ready for full-frame photography with the Lumix S9 and expect the full-frame to offer more dynamic range for demanding monochrome photography. Are there any photographers with similar intentions? Is it a fact that ESHTR provides less DR than MSHTR? Anyway, the possible departure from the mechanical shutter should be discussed in detail. Thank you, Matti, for metoring me.
Good luck with your long exposure flash experiments.
I’m going to have to say you two are not being genuine. I know pro photographers actually still using 15 or 20 year old cameras simply because they have not died yet. Those guys love photography more than gear. You, I and most on here I would say are right in the middle. Love photography but also love our gear.
I don't think buying a new camera is any indication that you don't love photography or that you are a gear addict. Maybe those photographers who use 20 year old cameras never needed video features, for example. I also think that most photographers who earn their living from photography use fairly new cameras just for the sake or reliability. There are always exceptions, of course.
@@mattisulanto I never suggested we don’t love photography any less in my statement. I said the love of the gear is just as important and fun to us.
@@WhoIsSerafin The main message in the video was that you should follow/like photographers whose work you admire regardless of the gear they use. We never suggested in the video that gear talk is pointless. You can be a camera collector and have a lot of fun, like suggested in video😀
