    Channa, really appreciate your in depth analysis with so much content examining different frequencies of sound with description of your experience. We have the these SVS Prime Pinnacles as front L & R in our 7.2.4 Home Theater (15’ x 30’ x 8’, 3600 cu ft). We have dual SVS PB-4000 Subs. The front sound stage is on one of the 15’ walls. We struggled with these for front L & R vs the Ultras, but like you picked these because of too much crowding if used the Ultras with Side Firing 8” woofers. Our Center is the SVS Ultra, Side surrounds are SVS Ultra surround, Backs are Cambridge Soundworks S300 surrounds. ATMOS are 4ea Polk Atrium6. Power Amp is Emotiva XPA-9 Gen3. Your review helps us breath a sigh of relief that we made a good choice!
    Question regarding Timber Matching our use of the four Polk Atrium6 for the ATMOS. Originally we had smaller ATMOS, Polk Atrium4, speakers too far away from the prime listening area (part of an older front height arrangement) and not aimed directly at the listening area, but the timber matching seemed good. Now, after studying the Dolby setup diagrams carefully, the Atrium6’s are close around the listening area and, are ceiling mounted with one large lag bolt (this makes it easy to sparkle one hole and to move to a different location if necessary). This and the Polk Atrium mount system gives a full gimbal mount that allows pointing the ATMOS speakers directly at the listening area. This finally gave us great sound ATMOS coverage. The Polk Atrium6 are ported enclosures. To study Timber Matching we set the Processor sound field to Multi-Channel Stereo and play mainly vocals, and go around to each speaker in the system and put our face close to each speaker and listen to sound quality for differences. We also listen at different distances and between speakers. We are convinced our Timber Matching is good, but we are just guessing about how to evaluate Timber Matching.
    Any techniques to evaluate Timber Matching, suggestions, or comments would be great help. Looking close at the SVS Prime Elevation for ATMOS, but hard for us to aim them “directly” at the listening area (we have to be on the ceiling close to the walls for ATMOS), and it seems like the Polks are doing a good job . Thanks for your work; we really enjoy learning from you and your channel!

    Great video, I made the switch to SVS a few months ago with the Ultra bookshelves and center channel. That Ultra center channel is what made me switch over to them. When I get a bigger place I will make the move to the pinnacles. I agree with the power I'm using an Anthem AVM60 with an Emotiva 9 channel amp and the sound is incredible!!!

    I got some Ultra bookshelves in the outlet store sale last week, and am very happy. They were both marked as blemished, but I could only find a couple almost invisible scratches on the top of one speaker. The other was just a return and looked new (found RMA in box). I'm super happy with them, and saved $400 on the pair.

    Love my SVS subs! Haven't had the pleasure of hearing any of their towers. From what you've tested, which towers would you place just above, and just below these towers; in your opinion? *Side Bar* your playlist had 'Think' by Kaleida; a well produced song (missed by many). Synth based but a fav of mine when critiquing. Overall, I enjoyed the review & personal insights!

    Very good video. I have a pair of older Snell Xa7 speakers with built in subs. They are nice sounding but after 20 years a little long in the tooth. I also have a nice M&K 12cinch side firing sub. all this in in a moderately size basement . I am thinking of replacing the snell'ssmaller tower and just using the single power amp. I am the furthest thing from a bass head but I love to hear, cello, bass guitar,s, and bid find;es with precision and definition. I have a 7 channel 200 wpmpower amp. How do you think these speakers would fit my needs. thanks in advance and keep up the good work.

      Yeah, in this price range there are a lot of other speaker brands. You could even get B&Ws for $200 more. It’s definitely a tough space. There are still so many better options than just the soundbar and sub. Check out the Klipsch Theater Pack. You can get that for $450. Get two of those and a 9 channel AVR and you’ve got 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos for $2k.

To me the ESL-X's sound like the band is playing in front of you and I believe you said the SVS pinnacle's had a better sound stage. Can you elaborate? Also, could you give a couple of examples of other speakers in this price range that you tested and how they compare? Dig your channel..

      That's a great combo that's what I'm running. Make sure you grab Mini DSP 2x4 HD/Umik-1 to dial subs in. Made a huge difference in my system. My dual SB3000s gain so much output with time alignment without doing much work. Also got a nice flat response, so I could add DEQ or my custom house curve. Not to mention consistent bass response across multiple seats within 4db. 👌

    • @TechnoDad

      The MLs have more bass, the mids and highs have a more delicate quality due to the electromagnetic film in the MLs as opposed to the aluminum dome tweeter in the SVS. I wouldn’t trade out the MLs as they are awesome! I do like the physical size of these SVS speakers and the sound they produce.

    Great review! I've been going back and forth between these and the Ultra towers for LCR in my upcoming theater. Most of what I read points to the Ultra towers as still the champions if you have the room for them. Would you agree Channa?

    • @TechnoDad
      @TechnoDad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Adam! I think a dedicated theater environment you might want to go Ultra Towers. However, if you are going to use subwoofers or multiple subwoofers, you may not need to have the side firing 8" woofers of the Ultras as they won't be used much.

    SVS only has decent subs. Their speakers are terrible so please don’t misguide people. Also words like “awesome” “fantastic” great” don’t mean anything. I’ve heard these speakers and they have no bass at all, you need a sub, on top of that the highs are extremely screechy and cheap sounding. This is not a review..... you sound like a paid commercial

      Congratulations you just described Klipsch. For home theater you need a sub regardless of what speakers you have hotdog.
