  • WE DID IT - we finally hit 1K!
    Thank you for helping me reach this milestone!
    This week has been one of “those” weeks where you feel like you’ve not managed to achieve or fix anything!
    Here’s a little snippet of the jobs we’ve had come in - I’m also currently down to a 4 day week which has thrown everything up in the air!
    Hope you enjoy - there’s a few cool things in the pipeline so watch this space!

    Reffer here
    Yes those discharge lines go in the tray so when unit is on those lines get hot and should disperse the water made
    So they say but on hydrocarbon fridges them lines don't really get hot enough and if unit makes too much water due to say door seals a crap or door accidentally left open it can't get rid of the water hence the tray overflowing
    Another reason is the back of the fridge is getting to cold icing up
    So when this defrost more water than normal goes into said tray
    Could be compressor but most likley its sprung a leak and that will cause the unit to not operate properly

      @@robgraham1204 thank you so much for giving the info! I’m way out of my depth with it and to be honest, only had a look as it’s a regular client - I’ve sucked out the water in the tray and it’s been fine for a week. She said the doors not been left open and usually, if it is, an alarm goes off to alert you which she’s not had.
      I’m keen to learn more and FGas is definitely on the cards for the hopefukky near future! It’s been there for a year or two with no issues so presume installation and ventilation is all ok for it but you’d definitely know more than me!

      You heating guys will be quing up for the f gas what with the influx of heat pumps
      Note these fridges run on hydrocarbon refrigerants
      Which are highly flammable
      F gas will be OK for the heat pumps
      But to work on units like this with hydrocarbons you will need another course normally a day
      I would stay away from this if fridge work is only something you will occasionally do
      Entirely up to you though

      @ nope, I’m in agreement, happy to steer well clear 🤣🤣 I would ideally just like to service and repair air con units 🤣

      @@RJHeating no worries . Enjoying the content .. keep it going . You'll hit big numbers soon.. also why do you not like those expansion vessels ? You know you can swing the tray round right ? Take the igniter off with the screws and swing the collector tray round and get to it easy..

      @ fingers crossed! Funnily enough, I have none of these boilers on my books at all, and had 2 new customers today, same boiler, different clients! I pulled on the tray on the first one because I thought that but it felt a little tight so I didn’t want to break it. I’m pretty sure I’ve just taken the front screw out the bracket before and wedged it up to replace though!

    • @RJHeating
      @RJHeating  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ I’ll put it on the list! They used to all wire in similarly but the EPH & ESi have changed their terminals now!
      If it’s helpful at all, you’ll have N, L, 1 is your common (you can put a link into the live for this), then 3 is your switch live back to the boiler (CH ON), or on a 2 channel, 3 is your DHW on and 4 is your CH on!

    • @lostinthoughtscalminsilenc8167
      @lostinthoughtscalminsilenc8167 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@RJHeating why do sometimes you need to link mate?

    • @RJHeating
      @RJHeating  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ often just easier putting a link between the L & Common/1 rather than trying to fit an extra wire into the L terminal back at the boiler.
      Some boilers have a live out/LS like the Worcesters but some don’t like Vaillant which only has an RT which is the switch live back to the boiler (3 in most controllers)

    I didn't understand how you diagnosed the blue wire not connected, neutral to grey(permanent live)240v, neutral to live240v, neutral to switch live (orange) 240v, s plan that's how I would do it same with the earth just to be on the safe side

    • @RJHeating
      @RJHeating  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@hali5341 it wasn’t through testing, I was just moving the wires about with my screwdriver and saw it was loose - I’d knocked it out when replacing the CH zone valve last week. When putting back in, the DHW neutral had gone behind terminal rather than in it so looked in - and naively didn’t check the water as I was working on the CH circuit! Also, when live testing, I generally test earth to lives unless I’m checking polarity
