The New CBA doesn't allow you to trade back for the same players in the same year. There is no loophole for it. Maybe he can get a buyout and then go back to the Knicks but im not sure if that's possible with the new CBA either.

Are you serious? The Knicks starting lineup is fine as is. And you clearly don't watch the Knicks or know how Thibbs operates. Thibbs would not move Hart to the bench for Donte to start.
You don't know Hart's value or role at that starting 4 spot. He's the glue guy and the engine for that starting unit, he gets the rebounds, he's the secondary playmaker after Brunson, he provides spacing and gets other guys open looks on the floor, he does all the little things on the floor that Donte doesn't or wouldn't do.
Donte would end up right in that second unit like he is now in Minnesota and the majority of his career because he's a bench player. Last year was an outlier due to injuries and Grimes being inconsistent as a starter. The Knicks signing Mikal showed that they didn't want Donte starting and the fact he's in Minnesota and STILL can't play in the starting lineup proves he's a bench player. The Knicks are fine without Donte.

Thank you, he would playing the same position that he is now in Minnesota. I don't care about a Villanova 4 narrative. His numbers would not be the same as last season with the Knicks because he's coming off the bench and playing less minutes. Besides, we have enough guys off the bench in Precious, Mitch, Deuce, Shamet/Payne. The Knicks are good without Donte.
