Glad you made it home safe man. Yea it definitely sucks when it happens. You should be good for another 10 years give or take depending on how much usage ect. Definitely go with a oem cable
@@jimmyswollnuts7662 nice. I mean you don’t have to but it is good practice. If you got the cable lube might as well. You can always lube it later on if you don’t have it right now

It doesn’t seem like me cable snapped on either end, but my lever is basically dead and has no tension and won’t disengage my clutch, but when I put the cable up out the lever and the black rubber sits on the opening it gives it a ton of tension and will disengage my clutch just doesn’t make sense
Mine just snap an hour ago, i was a mile from my house so it wasn’t too bad of a push. I get a oem one one on Tuesday for $85 How long does this take if you wasn’t filming this?
Glad to hear you made it back home ok. It’s not too hard when going back home. Just when you need to stop it can become a pain because you need to stall it. I rode mine back. I hope the video was helpful and please subscribe if you have not already!
@@ctadrenaline yeah i rode mine once i got it to go down hill, hey so, how long does this take if you wasn’t filming it? Kinda like an hour? I shared, liked, and subscribed. Im probably gonna let a professional do this.
@@sik_s1k yea around that much time making sure to do everything right. The long part is taking off the fairings and tank. The other parts aren’t too much. Thank you so much I highly appreciate it!
So now i got it to go smoothly in gear after adjusting but, when i let off the clutch i couldn’t get my actuator arm to go stationary so it’s slightly being pulled still which is probably why i got some clutch/rpm slippage while riding, ill have to keep messing with it but, im too cold rn, its 34 degrees here
It’s more then likely the tire spinning in that cold of weather. I know on my r1 ( can’t remember about the s1k but I think it was the same) that the actuator arm would go back a good amount ( cable not on by the way but I could push it forward till it got stiff then it started to grab the gear if that makes sense. If the weather was warmer then it would be alot easier. If the clutch wasn’t slipping with the old cable and it was set about the same then it should technically for the most part be fine. Probably some more adjustment needs to be made with the tire being warm and not slipping. I know at like 42 degrees outside my tire was slipping
@@ctadrenaline yeah its not the tire, its the actuator arm being slightly pulled in already, I realized that the spring on the actuator arm is just free, theres no tension on it but, going based off another video the dude doesn’t mention that spring neither, so i think its irrelevant, maybe i just have to adjust more, bc my bike is slipping in high rpms
@@sik_s1k yea try adjusting it. I adjusted mine under the gas tank as before it was basically grabbing a hair off the grip which I didn’t like. Now it’s more in the middle and then I fine tuned it on the lever adjuster
Just be mindful that on my BMW S1000R 2014 I found it could be done without removing the tank. I don’t recall even having to lift it? Check routing first and think simple!
Thank you man your very thorough great video

Thanks, bud. My cable snapped today as I was leaving work. Had 10 miles to get home. Ran every red light

On the later RR’s the tank has to be removed for proper routing.
