If you are concerned about reliability let me clear that up for you. I have owned my 2016 Golf GTI since new. It has been an absolutely solid car. VW’s respond so well to mods and you get far more bang for your buck compared to the competition. My GTI makes just over 500whp with its current mods. I am still completely stock motor as well. It’s also my daily driver and has over 155,000 miles on it. If you maintain German cars properly, they will absolutely be reliable. 👍🏾
Back in 2018 a Golf R was one of the cars under consideration when I was looking for a new ride. I ultimately didn't end up going with it, but they've always intrigued me. It definitely seems like a fantastic, jack-of-all-trades daily driver. I agree with you that I do think they've kind of gotten too expensive, but ultimately it seems like a great choice for someone in the market for a sporty daily driver (assuming you don't run into the German car gremlins!).
Last year, sti was 40k and a golf r was getting scalped from 70-90k. Now the wrx is nearly 45k and the golf r has come down to low 50s, what a difference a year makes. Last year youre an idiot for buying a golf r, now youre an idiot for buying a subaru wrx
Because you have an addiction to buying and selling cars my man, that's the answer
You’re not wrong lol
Ive got 80k on my mk7.5 gti and its been super solid.
Right on!

Haha those gremlins are real!!
I REALLY want a R over a subaru wrx. I will watch the market over the next year and unless the price makes sense, the VB wrx will win.
For the money the Subaru is great!
dont know whats happening with the prizes, they went from 65k to 85 k euro right here
Crazy
