While the enthusiast in me would like to see this, I just don't think it would fit in with VW's plans at this point in time. It's actually still surprising that they're still offering the GTI / Golf R at this point at all as they've gotten rid of most of the other car models in their lineup to focus on EVs and SUVs, at least here in the U.S. And being such a niche vehicle, probably produced in low numbers, would make it prohibitively expensive, and I think once it released most people who were interested in it would get sticker shock and there would be a lot of "I could do the same thing for "x" amount cheaper in the aftermarket" claims. I just don't think VW would see the return on it necessary to make it a reality.
Id say of course they should. But since they axed the manual for the r/gti I just dont see it as a goto car for true enthusiast anymore.
Yep I agree. I hope they bring the manual back
An “s” version of the golf would be nice. Cloth seats, sunroof delete and a volume knob
Okay I like it. Get rid of some stuff to add the goodies
I'd buy one... but currently I'm just doing it aftermarket... hoping to go stage 3 this spring. Even stage I full torque on 93 is already so beastly.
I bet!!
I believe it would be better do it for for audi rs3 just coz their racing pedigree
@@ideal538 hard pass. No manual option. I don't care about winning races or lap times. I care about smiles per miles. Automatics don't do it for me.
@@ideal538 not a bad thought
@@du3lcitiz3n I care about winning races and smiles per mile so I bought a DSG. Everyone's perspective/experience is different.
The vw group will never taint the rs3’s sales unfortunately
Yeah fair point

Yeah very fair points
Most overpriced vehicle out there. $500 stage one gets 370hp and 369 torque for a GTI. 15k of waste
Golf r has a bigger turbo and you can get more from it. It all depends on what you want or need. GTI is a great car as you pointed out to modify.
