I bought a certified used 2021 Toyota Supra from California and not even a week after driving my car, I get a notification that my oil is low and i must add a litre of oil. I am really worried now. It doesn't seem righy. Now i have to go to the dealership to see if they can figure this out

The gas mileage is terrible. An S197 V6 Mustang does better and has 305hp. The RTV problem is unforgiveable. I don't know why anyone would buy these cars knowing about them slathering the engine with cheap RTV that can lower oil flow into the oil pump. Why use a cheap stamped oil pan? Simple, to save money on something that is important and use it to make fake engine noises.

Wow, I just bought a 2023 Challenger Shakedown and it has the same outdated headunit that came with the much earlier Scat Pacs. This thing has the worst NAV and back up camera I have ever come across and Android Auto won't even connect. I think I will take it back and get a Mustang GT. Not as Retro looking as the Scat Pac Shakedown but the Tech is Lightyears Ahead of th me Mopars.

While the enthusiast in me would like to see this, I just don't think it would fit in with VW's plans at this point in time. It's actually still surprising that they're still offering the GTI / Golf R at this point at all as they've gotten rid of most of the other car models in their lineup to focus on EVs and SUVs, at least here in the U.S. And being such a niche vehicle, probably produced in low numbers, would make it prohibitively expensive, and I think once it released most people who were interested in it would get sticker shock and there would be a lot of "I could do the same thing for "x" amount cheaper in the aftermarket" claims. I just don't think VW would see the return on it necessary to make it a reality.

Why would you want to get rid of the seat belt chime? Isn’t that to tell you to put your seatbelt on? I’d like to know if a passenger hasn’t got it on as I’d be the one getting the fine/points as the driver is liable for it here in the UK. I’ve heard a lot bout software mods too, auto folding mirrors, lock code boot, lights etc.. any info on this?

The R MK8, the most basic criticism I would give the car is that the face is a failure. Where is the proof in that? Well compare it to the MK8 clubsport that is not available in the USA. There is no comparison the clubsport looks way better. Makes zero sense that the best looking Golf is not the R. So because of that fact VW gave the R a facelift for the MK8.5 and it still doesn’t look as good as the clubsport 8 or clubsport 8.5.

People need to realize that getting a 4.62 time in high elevation with snow still on the ground in cold weather is impressive let alone for a RWD car. This car at sea level on a strip on a sunny day is probably in the mid 3s.

I had a Punch 45 and a Punch 12. Didn't hit very hard. So I got a Punch 75, and it hit much better. Then my friend shows up with a 15 of sorts and a weak amp. So I went out and got a JBL 15 and installed it in the same box. I got hard hitting bass you couldn't believe. I have a feeling the P300 12 could be a nice quick fix for my daughters new car.

I wouldn’t go from a Camaro SS to a Golf R. I would like more space than my Camaro has but the driving experience makes up for that. I’ve driven the Golf R, Civic Type R, Integra Type S, M340i, S5, WRX, Mustang GT. All have been a major downgrade in comparison to the SS. I paid $43,500 out the door for my 24 Camaro 1SS.

Those rock guards look a bit off to me. I have a 2024 Camaro with lower PPF and haven’t had many paint issues. I got paint correction and ceramic pros coating professionally installed.

Some smart guy designed parts to get through a warranty period. I'll always go back to OEM for most electronic parts. The parts store brands have a lifetime warranty for a reason; they sell enough that don't have problems at a high enough markup to warranty the ones that do have problems.

love my 24' Golf R as well, lapiz blue its the perfect all around car, Daily driver,all weather conditions great AWD, not too flashy, performance is more then enough stock but if you tune it. It becomes a monster.

Not at the serious point yet actually buying, but been investigating various sporty cars. I've been driving a MT for about 35 years. The 2025 Golf R is now only automatic. I can't wrap my head around getting an auto even at my old age. Looks like the Golf went woke. Sure, I can get an older one and call me silly but I don't even want a VW since it won't even offer the MT option. Let VW cater to the boring era of cars. I'll go with a company that still understands it not all about speed and ease, it's about the experience.

UK DSG owner here - we never got the manual here, but the DSG box makes the car even easier to live with when you just want to cruise, as well as getting to 60 in 4.3. It's the dual nature of the character I like the most - 90% of the time I drive it in Comfort mode and it feels like a "normal" golf, but when you want to press on in Race mode it feels like a completely different car. Hard to think of another car that strikes that same balance.

RT guys/girls... if you actually like doing your own work and not just shitting money out to a shop or dealership, $3000 makes any RT a threat to Scats & ZL1's on pump gas with cheaper insurance and an extra $3k on E85 and you're dusting them all/ barking at Hellcat's.

I had a 99 GTI (bought new). Was one of my favorite cars... I drove the wheels off that thing. It was constantly in the shop but even still I loved it. It had the 2.slow motor in it (right before the 1.8t came out) so it only had 115hp and 115tq but I knew how to drive the crap out if it!

Also the VW is built with high strength steel. The WRX is very tinny.

I've had the APR Stage I 93 Octane Full Torque tune for 8K plus miles with no clutch slippage. Gets it to 405hp and 398TQ... it is amazing.

Makes me want to upgrade from my brz, but i am still hesitant with all the touch controls
