I will always come back to this performance. The right song, the right performance, the right place, the right guest singer, even the right introduction by Gordon Lightfoot.
Feist is the only singer that can pull this off . Gord would love this . The most under-rated Canadian singer of all time , Both poets , respectful , artistic , loving , caring, respected in the industry but didn't sell out . We need to keep the poetry going . I want to see more of this .
Of all the song's to choose from, they picked this one . And how perfect it was to be this song. "When the colour of the night, And all the smoke for one life, Gives way to shaky movements, Improvisational skills".
Gord was a huge, HUGE fan of Feist. I'd argue while, yes, nobody could ever replace Gord in a million years, if they ever do another of their songs and it needs a singer it can only be Feist, she's the only person Gord would ever approve of and really the only one since Gord's passing that could even make any sense and work with the emotions of their catalogue.
I think you are right about Leslie, for sure. Gord was a fan and a friend. I’d suggest that Sarah Harmer is the only exception to the “Feist Rule” - if it fit the song, Gord would approve & the band would play it. I only ever expect one offs - there is no *new* version or anything. It’ll be for something they care about, like the Kids Camp.
This made me unreasonably emotional, god damn I miss the hip. Feist's vocals are ethereal as always. I would love to see a whole album or concert of the Hip with guest singers, and all the profits going to the charities Gord held dear to his heart, in his honour.

Best band ever....Long live the Tragically Hip !!!
Feist should be a regular feature of The Hip from now on! An amazing blend of her sound and Gord's.
3 down votes? Really??? Feist and The Tragically Hip sounded incredible. Massey Hall is going to look hot when it is finished. It was awesome seeing the Hip again. Thanks
Great to see them back again and what a wonderful song pick
They were all smiling at each other as if to say “we’re back”.
As a long time Hip Fan, I was truly moved by this performance. I had goosebumps as I listened. Perfect choice of song and perfect choice in Fiest. We all miss Gord deeply, but I agree with others, he would want the music to continue. Well done!
Please more of Feist and Tragically Hip....magic!
"A tribute will seldom come as good as this one .... I didn't mind the tears coming while listening thanks ..."
I miss a man I’ve never met like I’ve lost a loved one
I completely understand. Intimacy through art and his humanity.
I didn't expect this collaboration to be bad, but I also didn't expect it to be so good. That was pretty f'n great.
Amazing, just amazing. I'm in tears, it was magical.
Amazing! So glad this happened.
Miss them so much....missing a lot of things
I hear ya
Beautiful. I wish they would do an album together.
It was so awesome to see the boys playing tonight! 🎩🎸
YES!!! Such a great idea! would be incredible. There is a void with Gord gone.
Still feels like that night...sublime, perfect, ethereal. Ms Feist is now part of Hip nation forever.
Awesome take. Feist fits.
I kept wondering who could be a suitable replacement for Gord, and Leslie Feist just answered the question. Such a great voice. I hope they collaborate more. So good.
Oh man. Wow. So beautiful but made me really miss Gord. Full of emotion here.
*Beautiful, gorgeous, We miss you GORD.*
In tears....beautiful performance. Such a huge part of my adolescents, concert after concert, Canadiana at it's finest. Kudos to the CBC, to have recordings of this is why we must fund the arts and CBC imo.
Is it possible to love a person you never knew, the tears in my eyes say that so ... and if that's possible maybe I can love the ones I do just a little more, ... God damn I miss Gord.
