Really good review. Has Skoda dropped the adjustable floor? I'm sure the previous version had one. The Fabia doesn't have one either and you can't even order it which is a shame because it's really handy for sliding in bicycles and furniture. I'd check the Skoda website but it's been knackered for ages which isn't a good look.
Skoda is the budget brand and has a smattering of cheap scratchy plastic...have you sat in a VW T-Roc lately?! Skoda and VW vehicles are basically on par, in fact I'd go so far as to say I prefer Skoda's interior design and materials choices.
How is Skoda doing in Australia? Here in Europe it’s very popular and many people had good experiences. Is Skoda in Australia now more common than before?
@@camil1220 I'm not the reviewer but Skoda is doing OK in Australia. Other brands like Opel haven't been able to crack Australia. Due to pricing, Skoda is not a top 10 brand and doesn't have any cars in the top 10. Japanese and Korean brands still have a price advantage and name recognition. Some people still think of Skoda as an unknown brand and there aren't a huge amount of dealers either. I am seeing a few Kodiaq's and Karoq's around - I think some people are fed up with crazy waiting times for Toyota so are looking elsewhere. Personally I'd love a Skoda Kamiq MC but 44K Australian is a lot of money. I can get into a new Golf or Polo GTI for less.
@@MLife1972 Thanks for sharing! It seems logical what you say, maybe Skoda needs also a bit more time and in a few years more people will be interested for one. Talking about Opel I think that they never been as Opel in Australia, because you had the brand Holden. I don’t know how it was 60 years ago, but in the last decades it belongs to GM and you had many Models that were identical to Opel and Vauxhall.
@@camil1220 Correct. Holden imported the Vectra, Astra and a few other models and rebadged them as Holdens. The Astra was a huge seller in the late 90s and helped Holden as they only had the Commodore family car and other rebadged cars from the GM stable. I think the Holden Monaro made its way to Europe in return. Then...in 2012 the Opel brand itself came and the Astra, Corsa and Insignia appeared in their own dealers. Except it was a disaster because they pitched themselves as semi luxury with the Astra now several thousand more than a VW Golf. They left again after a year or two with Holden selling the last few models before they too collapsed. I know this because the Skoda lot is near me and prior to that it was Opel.
@@Shredy-1 Also Elroq the new small electric! The Alutiiq refer to the Kodiak bear as Taquka'aq - the letter 'q' at the end is typical for the names of people, and also for their animals. ŠKODA has adopted the letter for the new SUV's model name, thereby paying its own respect to the language of the Alutiiq.
I always find it interesting that different markets have different specifications I have the exact same model here in the uk and I have traffic sign recognition variable boot floor rear centre arm rest with cup holders in it adaptive cruise control plus I opted for heated windscreen seats and steering wheel blind spot monitoring matrix headlights and power tailgate all in all it’s a great car
I have the 2021 Kamiq, it is FANTASTIC and not planning to let that baby go anytime soon.... my first Skoda, and Ioving it!
Mine has the wireless charge and wireless Apple/Android connection...strange to not see it in the Monte!
Should do the 2024 karoq sportline next. Haven’t seen many reviews of late
Other than the front head lights and power drivers seat it looks exactly the same as my 2021 Monte Carlo Kamiq

The adjustable boot floor is an option in the UK.

Just got my one, went from a 2023 VW to this and I will say you get more for your money
Why last letter on Škoda brand Is Q? Like Kodiaq Kamiq Enyaq?
Check Matt Campbell's response to this same question you posted yesterday on The Right Car review... and the Chasing Cars review

This Kamiq Monte Carlo needs a supercharger for the 1.5 as a twincharger since VRS.
It needs to be rwd or awd if so as it barely gets traction from a stop start as it is
I have a 2021 Kamiq. It's not perfect, but for the reasons I bought it, I like it a lot.
If you are considering buying a Kamiq ensure that the Automatic locking system has an override facility if not its a potential deathtrap
They need an RS. When are all the larger SKODA going to get 360 cameras as standard
Is there a sliding cover to close out the panoramic roof. No mention in this review.
Yes, there is so you can always close it up on those warmer sunny days =)
