- I've had this video done a long time ago but I forgot to upload it. This shows how to get the Ice Key in Banjo-Kazooie and what you need to do to collect the giant Glowbo and unlock dragon Kazooie.

I'm not surprised that they still don't tell you this, but Dragon-Kazooie doesn't just have fire breath as her only perk; she has an unlimited supply of fire eggs too. She might also be able to run and jump faster without Banjo, but I can't say for sure.

you forgot to mention dragon kazooie has unlimited fire eggs
also there is one thing you forgot in banjo-tooie- in spiral mountain there is a boulder near banjo’s house. after learning the bill drill move, com eback to spiral mountain and use the move on the boulder to break it, revealing banjo’s pet fish who then asks you to carry him to the lake around the mountain. after you do so, he will double your air meter and tell you how to swim faster than by pressing X: by pressing A and X at the same time to have banjo and kazooie swim at the same time

Fun fact : you can get dragon kazzoie after you get Talon torpedo in Jolly's Lagoon ( is not necessary to finish B-K to do that ) ( N64 only )

@@WhiteSuperMemeist in Jinjo Village, there's an elevated ledge you grab onto and shimmy across (there are few of those nests containing blue creatures that have the big teeth). It leads to an ice room with an animatronic Banjo Kazooie game cartridge, which you attack to get the Ice Key (I think it gives something else in Xbox 360). From there all the steps are the same as this video, starting at 1:46.
It's not necessary to do anything in N64 Banjo Kazooie beforehand
@@TheCartoon77 yes you can. You dont need BK to get dragon kazooie. You can find the ice key in BT. It's in the jinjo village, find the cliff with the wall monsters on it.

I wonder if it's possible to do in Rare Replays. I never got anything from Banjo-Kazooie to appear in Banjo-Tooie.
@@bennel3588 it is actually, you just have to have a save file in Tooie on the same Xbox account for the ice key to transfer over.
@@varunprabhu2535 When I enter in the code, the mole told me that my game data will not be saved when I do this, and then when I get the egg, Banjo says that the egg can be used in Nuts and Bolts.
@@magma1675 There was also a hen that told me to play Banjo-Kazooie to get the eggs. I played Banjo-Kazooie, and then got the eggs. I forgot if I did "Quit," because I was assuming that my game data cannot be saved after what the mole told me. When I played Banjo-Tooie, the hen told me that I have not played Banjo-Kazooie. I wonder what I'm doing wrong.

From the cartridge version, the Ice Key doesn't do anything. You skip most of this in Banjo Tooie and get Dragon Kazooie in a slightly different way
You were able to do it in the cartridge version of banjo tooie
A dragon w/ fire breath attack (Can cheese one of the more annoying Bosses as well with it) for the basic attack and also an Infinite supply of Fire eggs, also nice because you get infinite eggs that are twice as strong than the Basic eggs.
When I got Banjo Kazooie XBLA, the Stop’n Swap Items were already avaliable at start, I didnt need 100 Jiggies. Dont get me wrong, I still beat Banjo Kazooie 100%... 9 Times...

I noticed that you forgot to help Banjo´s trapped fish XD
you use the bill drill to break the rock trapping the fish than you bring him to the river around the hill. he rewards you by giving you more air and an ability to swim faster. this reward will help you in jolly rogers lagoon in the big underwater segments.

As someone who owns both banjo kazooie and banjo tooie on the N64 I can say this isn't as fun as just grabbing the damn thing in tooie from the getgo..
The connection between the two games was the original plan, they just put it directly in Tooie because a hardware revision for the N64 made their plans for Stop N Swap on the N64 impossible on later models.

So thats what the key was for in that game! I always wondered in the first game how to get there! In the N64 Version you had a different area where you also can get that Key, but i cant remember where...long ago.

Why do I remember having dragon kazooie before without getting the ice key?
Banjo tooie probably
It was probably done by a glitch or probably the Nintendo 64 did not have a requirement for getting the ice key, but the ice key and the locked ice treasure chest were added to the XBOX 360 version.
On the N64 version, Banjo Kazooie isn't necessary. It was going to be part of the Stop-N-Swap feature, but it never worked, so the Ice Key is unlocked a different way.
On the Banjo Tooie N64 version, once you get the Ledge Grab move, you head to Jinjo Village to find a ledge, that leads to a small ice room with a anthropomorphic Banjo Kazooie cartridge. Kill it to unlock the Ice Key
Once you do that, you can follow from 1:46, only after unlocking the Talon Torpedo move from Jamjars, in Jolly Roger's Lagoon
Never compare game machines the same way. If it was on Playstation 1, it probably was possible to swap the game discs with the machine still on, and then carry that stuff over to the next game. I wonder if they have to be the same game or if they can be different games.
@@bennel3588 I mean a different cd is a different cd. I'd imagine the problem arises when the swapped disc boots and the stored data the game is looking for isn't there and/or the engine isn't compatible. Obviously final fantasy and metal gear solid were able to do the whole multi disc thing, but I don't believe it can work for any (disc 1) and any (disc 2/3/4)

Someone can help? I can’t unlock the room to get the ice key, I’m playing XBLA on PC Cloud Gaming, so I have the 100 jiggys, I have saved file games for both Banjo original game and the Nuts and bolts but the room stays locked, maybe I can’t enter because I’m playing on PC?
As far as I remember, you could use Dragon Kazooie’s Flame Breath on Mildred to get the Jinjo frozen inside.

How exactly was this done for Banjo-Tooie on the N64? I got Dragon Kazooie on there, but I swear I didn't have to have Banjo-Kazooie to do it. I strongly feel the Ice Key was achieved differently on the N64 version.
The Ice Key is in Jinjo Village, which can be retrieved once you learn the ledge grab fairly early in the quest. After that all you need is the Talon Torpedo from Jolly Roger's Lagoon, then to follow the video from 1:46. No Banjo Kazooie needed

In the xbla versions: I entered the cheat in the sand castle and then retrieved the ice key. From there, I simply launched banjo tooie from the Xbox Home Screen and when I got into my game, the key doesn’t appear in my ‘objects and items’ screen. Any ideas why the key isn’t appearing?
Disregard, had to exit the game (trigger the game over) now it is there.
One question is it normal that my progress and statistics cannot be saved?

I am about 2 years late, but for anyone else who reads this later. There is a point in the game where you run into a N64 cartridge in Banjo Tooie and after you collect it, Jamjar tells you its the legendary Ice Key. The original Ice key from Banjo Kazooie was never meant for this game lol, but they mention it because it became famous with fans of the first game. The first Ice Key was made to swap Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64 games before Nintendo ditched the 64DD idea

Jamie Kakepetums You can go to Jinjo Village in the wasteland zone, there you'll have a ledge you can cling to, follow the ledge to an opening that leads to an ice cavern. There, you smash the N64 cartridge character that is jumping around and you get the ice key :)

It's a cheat in the N64 Version I managed to get the key only to Find out that it glitches and bugs you're entire save file to get it you need all the colored eggs

Microshit really ruined Banjo-Kazooie. I wonder if the ice key (along with the eggs) were really to unlock those specific items or was there really something much bigger and better.

Yikes this is an example of ignorant people who don't know shit about the past and didn't realize that's actually the original intention and Microsoft didn't do jack shit to this game. If people wanna complain that the rewards are shit (and I think Dragon Kazooie is a great reward) go complain to Rare. People were expecting wayyy too much with what Stop N Swop was meant to give. Yeah you can hate Microsoft for other things, but this ain't one of them.
Plus, people complaining that the N64 method was better, this is also an example of what happens when you give people a cheaper method in the past and then try to bring back the original. People complain that it's too complicated when it's how it was always meant to be y'all just gotten used to the easier way and don't feel like buying and beating the original like you were supposed to do on the N64 in the first place.
Stop N Swap was the original method, they just implemented a back up when the original plan for the N64 versions didn’t work out. They brought back the original plan for the Xbox versions because the hardware allowed them to do the original plan

man, it sucks that in the 360 version you have to play the first bass to have the ice key, while in the original in Banjl tooi you just have to go to the ice cave of the Jinjo town
Well this was the original intention with the games. The Stop N Swop feature was meant to be a reward for buying and beating the original Banjo Kazooie. You were supposed to take the first games cartridge out of your N64 and quickly put in Tooie and you'd get the reward. Rare wanted to do this because it was a possible feature in the N64, but it actually wasn't that good and didn't exactly work Nintendo had to tell them it was an unfinished feature. So they had to allow you to get the stuff in the second game without the first being needed.
