Part of Nursing process for Nurses (LPN/RN ) are assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Though the word Assessment may not apply to LPN, still it requires for LPN to have a basic nursing knowledge to collect data in order for them to alert the RN or Doctor. Collecting data is part of assessment process. Such as taking full vital signs, writing down the patient's complaint, listening to the lungs, palpating the abdomen for instance if that's the complaint, understanding the underlying issue, if it's new onset or chronic, understanding the current patient diagnosis, understanding the non urgent, urgent, emergency situation, understanding the current medications the patient currently on, understanding abnormal lab values, contraindications, LPN ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS BASIC NURSING KNOWLEDGE otherwise how can you take care of the patient if the only goal is to pass meds. LPN is NOT all about passing meds.

Toileting and bathing is the basics of nursing. It is not the nurses main responsibility but there will be times where you have to do it and if you have a passion for taking care of people, that shouldn’t be an issue 😌

So in Ghana, a diploma nurse is a registered nurse. However it not so in Dubai . I want to know if cna and Lpn are the same

LPN is a NURSE ( License Practical Nurse ) CNA is a Certified Nursing Assistant. LPN schooling ranges from 15 months to 2 yrs of education depends on the state. CNA schooling is 5-6 weeks. LPN is a license by the state to practice within the scope of Nursing practice. You need to PASS the NURSING BOARD EXAM or NCLEX to be an LPN. CNA does not need NCLEX but they do need certification to practice as a certified nursing assistant.
LPN classes includes, Pharmacology 1&2, Anatomy Physiology 1&2, Pediatrics, Maternity, Nursing Fundamentals, Mental Health, MedSurg, Ethics, Basic Management class. Prior to getting into the LPN program (depend on the state & school either community college or private ) you need pre-requisites of Medical terminology, Basic Math/algebra, Chemistry, Biology, English 101, Psychology, basic computer skills and PASSED THE HEISE/ATI EXAM PLACEMENT TEST. With that being said, CNA cannot bridge to LPN program or absolutely NOT the same as LPN. NONE of that class required for CNA. CNA are focus on basic bedside care, basic restorative such as transferring residents/patients manually or using lift, ADL's or activity of daily living, basic infection control knowledge, changing foley bag, changing briefs, counting input/output, reporting any possible change of condition to LPN or RN.
