- The Harley Davidson Iron 883 is just crying out to be tuned. We fitted Vance & Hines Short Shots and an open filter to the 883 and developed the remap (ECU flash) to get the fueling right. We gained an increase of 13bhp from 43bhp to 56bhp at the back wheel. Road testing the Sportster showed the bike responded instantly to throttle inputs, a big improvement to the standard bike's lazy throttle response.
This is a brief insight into what's involved in the development of our remaps.

That 883 is now running what a stock 1200 does HP wise. That’s not bad.

Pretty impressive results if one is willing to invest the time on the dyno to get it right
56.5 bhp on the back wheel on an air-cooled long stroke (bore/stroke = 0.79) twin is impressive..

Dang, i'm kinda curious what i got with my stage 1 with tune on my 1200cc sporty.
How does something like effect fuel economy and can it be mapped specifically for better fuel economy?
What is that air filter/cover? Looks great!
I believe this was a 'USA Figure Machine' Air Intake for the 883. Not an expensive one however with the Short Shots and Remap it made a hell of a lot more power!!
2017 iron 883, 5000mi, V&H short shots, arlen ness big sucker. "Everything about the bike is running worse. hotter, throttle is sluggish and unresponsive, noticeably slower, decel pop and backfiring now, and nearly dies sometimes when starting to take off in 1st. just so you guys have all the info, i started with 2402 tune matching the exhaust/air cleaner i have, but that and the tune for RSD 2-1 are running poor, for some reason the stock tune is the only one that is decent. I'm at a loss, and am not really having fun riding now which is unfortunate." bike was running fine until I did the intake and dynojet.

i need your advice , my harley davidson iron 883 new model 2021 has vance & hines slip - on , the performance is not the same as the stock motorcycle , what should i do ? I was advised by some people to install airfilter and fuel pack , I am confused which airfilter should be installed ( k&n stage 1 or Vance & Hines vo2 or screaming eagle performance ) , is it necessary to replace the screaming eagle performance plug and wire also Vance & Hines Fuel pack 3 too? give me advice what to do.

Have you tried that set up but used a “power vision” tuner instead of the dyno ?
The Power Vision is another way of flashing the ECU, the bike would still need to go on the dyno to check the power output and to optimise the fueling.

We can set up quiet a few 883 with Mini Grenades, they are another popular pipe for this bike.
I’ve always heard the 2:1 pipes give better power.

Does this affect the speedo?
Had my sportster remapped and now speedo doesn't show gear selection.
The speedo is not affected with our remaps.

Do harley 48 needs an ecu reflash? Its all stock...
No. If you add exhaust and air intake (or either one alone) then yes. If you change your air/fuel in anyways then you want to reflash the ecu to the proper map. There are several popular tuners out there now. Personally I run the vance and hines fp3, but the dynojet powervision is supposed to be the best one out there!
30% increase in performance! It would definitely be worth the investment to get those kind of numbers, but I haven’t seen anyone else achieving the same results?
It is definitely worth it! On this model of Harley, with these mods and this kind of setup, it will make this power and has done on everyone we have seen so far :) Do you have the same model?

@@BHPUK Unfortunately guys, I’m over in the USA or I would love to get this setup done to my bike! 😢 mine is still under warranty as well so I have to use SE tuner I believe? Idk, but no one around here is getting results this good from a stage 1 unfortunately.
@@robbyclark6915 i’m in same situation. 2020 883. And yes you will void warranty if dont use HD tuner (i’m opting for Dynojet Power Vision). Wondering if using autotune feature will get me close to 30% increase.
