Two years ago (10th Sept 2016) my beloved wife of 35 years passed away. She was surrounded by family and went peacefully away in the gentle morning light. Oh how I miss her so much and wish she could still be with us. But time waits for no one and now she's gone to a better place where there is no sickness or disease. In due time I hope very much I will be with her when my time comes. This music gives me hope for that folks..... God Beyond All Praising O God beyond all praising, we worship you today and sing the love amazing that songs can not repay, for we can only wonder at every gift you send, at blessings without number and mercies without end. We lift our hearts before you and wait up on your word; we honour and adore you, our great and mighty Lord. Then hear, O gracious Saviour; accept the love we bring, that we who know your favour may serve you as our king, and whether our tomorrows be filled with good or ill, we'll triumph through our sorrows and rise to bless you still: to marvel at your beauty and glory in your ways, and make a joyful duty our sacrifice of praise.
I think you'll find inspiration in the middle line: The flower of earthly splendor in time must surely die It's fragile bloom surrender to you the Lord most high And hidden from all nature the eternal seed is sown Though small in mortal stature to heaven's garden grown The Christ the man from heaven from death has set us free And we through him are given the final victory
My 3-year-old grandson loves listening to this after hearing it on a Bluey. He likes to name was the instruments. Thanks for the beauty you add to our relationship.
an arrangement so gorgeous that even this secular Jew is called on to praise the most high. thanks guys, pretty remarkable for a bunch of young young people just out there in the woods. nice!
...brother, we are all brothers and daughters of the Most High God.....every Latter Saint would tell you this....we all stood at the Fathers right hand in glory, righteousness, and truth before the foundation of the world....we all fought in the great battles of Heaven against Azazel and the fallen angels, and against one third of our brothers and daughters who tried to storm heaven.......brother, you have kept your first estate....choose this day to keep your 2nd estate, that you might inherit your 3rd estate of our Heavenly Fathers and Heavenly Mothers 9 kingdoms and many more mansions.....I bear witness....gh
This is me when I walk outside in the morning and there is a cool breeze and the leaves from the trees are falling and crows are calling from somewhere far away and everything is so tranquil and AUTUMN HAS ARRIVED!
Oh my goodness...this is just transcendent and sublime. The melody "Jupiter" has always been amongst my favorite tunes, but as I was searching for the gravestone of a friend who had died 2 weeks ago, the lyrics of this hymn overtook my mind and brought me to tears. The magnificence of Almighty God..the precious souls of all ages who have died...Your post was so healing. Many, many thanks for sharing such beauty and very talent youth.
Etymologically, Jehovah and Jupiter are the same God. Jupiter, or Jovis blended and became Jehovah, and vice versa. So it's wholly appropriate you found Jupiter. God indeed works in the most subtle and mysterious of ways. Names are names, but divinity is unutterably awesome. He reached me through Jupiter. No matter what name he reached you or your friend as, may he hold you both in the palm of his hand.
Do you realize that there is NO MENTION OF ANY GOD IN THE WORDS OF THIS WONDERFUL PIECE. HOLST did not intend this to be about ANY GOD. He was not religious but you just can’t stop yourself can you, you have to bring god into this where the composer had NO INTENTION OF INVOKING GODS OF ANY KIND.
There are two versions of this with words. "O God Beyond All Praising " is a Christian hymn. " I Vow to Thee My Country " is a patriotic British song, featuring a poem that became popular after WWI.
This may be my favorite video we have done so far. The filming was really tough that day. It felt like it wouldn't be worth it. It definitely testifies to me in and of it's self that completing a hard task WILL be worth it and that we can ALWAYS find peace in God and music.
......isn't it interesting that the Father bears witness to himself through the very least of us..........his glory, kindness, steadfastness, love, and glory.......it seems we shall have the final glory and victory over the Sons of Darkness......I bear witness....gh
The glory of Autumn, set in mountain grandeur, provides fitting backdrop for youth symphony playing soaring majestic harmony, in praise of The Great Maker of all Beauty! The One who inspires, and made possible music sublime, that stirs the heart so, and inspires the mind, with visions unfolded in the Word of Life beyond time.
I had a piano when I was 10 in which you could play songs and try to match those by listening, I heard this for the very first time in that piano..... And just fell in love with this song
Pls forgive all my sins have mercy on me & pls be w/ me during my intestine surgery I hope Lord I will be healed & those other who are sick suffering w/ pain & it’s time for me to go pls forgive my sins & take me to your kingdom Praise & thanks for everything Shalom 🌍✌️🕊🙏❤️💕❤️🦋💓🦋💓🦋
I vow to thee my country, all earthly things above, Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love: The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test, That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best; The love that never falters, the love that pays the price, The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
I just want you all to know how much this video is helping me. My life has fallen apart, but when I take refuge in this song you played so beautifully I am able to find hope
"Thaxted" is a hymn tune by the English composer Gustav Holst, based on the stately theme from the middle section of the Jupiter movement of his orchestral suite The Planets and named after Thaxted, the English village where he lived much of his life. He adapted the theme in 1921 to fit the patriotic poem "I Vow to Thee, My Country" by Cecil Spring Rice but that was as a unison song with orchestra.[1] It did not appear as a hymn-tune called "Thaxted" until his friend Ralph Vaughan Williams included it in Songs of Praise in 1926.[2] (Copied from Wikipedia)
Every time I hear this, I start to cry. Both tears of happiness, sadness, and at peace. Thank you for making this video. It has really touched me. I wish I could be playing with you guys. You guys are awesome.
Omg! Beautiful music, beautiful county, beautiful musicians, beautiful souls. I'm a classical pianist and clarinetist and love this theme and your rendition of it. I keep coming back to this video.... there is something very sad and lonely about it - perhaps the young lady left out in the beginning who seems to search and eventually find the source of peace, the music. Not sure - but this is highly emotive. Such a wonderful rendition of this classic and powerful piece of music. It would be amazing if your orchestra would go on tour - I am sure there would be an amazing reception here in South Africa.
Oh, my gosh. Not only is this arrangement of this classical Holst piece beautiful, but the director and ensemble's BEAUTIFUL greeting and "thanks" at the end of the video was a touch of real CLASS. Thanks, guys... as a retired principal and music teacher, I wish you the BEST for a BLESSED future!
This is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us. I was listening to an audio of my Twin on loop when I fell asleep, and for some reason, when I woke up this music was playing in my mind. I had no idea he loves Jupiter.

Absolutely loved this video! The scenery with this glorious music is so relaxing and uplifts the soul. Such great talent by gifted young men and women! It brought back memories of my days in band and orchestra; such an international language that reaches across all boundaries to express praise, emotion, and peace. Very well done!

I just purchased this on Itunes. I listened to many versions but this was the best instrumental version. I'm still searching for the vocal version. Fantastic job and video. You know a song is great when it can bring tears to your eyes and despite years of loving classical music, I'd never heard this that I can recall. What a great find and thankfully it was on Itunes.
I can appreciate the irony of the tune of "I Vow to Thee My Country", a patriotic song about Britain, being played over scenes of American countryside.
Absolutely LOVELY!!! My favorite hymn. Thanks so much for sharing this love!!!! The rendition is so beautiful. I would love to see a rendition with trombone and euphonium additions.
Very touching. I loved your video. I keep coming back to it during Holy Week. It tells the joy every soul feels puservering in faith and giving praise for all of God's works and blessings in our life. But often the journey is made alone, but joy comes as we realize we are not alone.

I know this video is 5 years old and the people Involved have probably moved on. I wish I could tell them how beautiful this arrangement is.
This is the best instrumental version of this hymn and it’s my fav. Hymn
And it’s still beautiful!! Posting this in 2023!

Beautiful tune from the Jupiter movement. Some hymnals include this hymn tune, called Thaxted, from the name of an English village where Holst lived.

" I Vow to Thee, My Country" would be the "vocal version" that was made from Holst's Jupiter. An unofficial/ official British "anthem"
God bless you Father
I can appreciate the irony of the tune of "I Vow to Thee My Country", a patriotic song about Britain, being played over scenes of American countryside.
Its not ironic because this is Gustav Holtz Jupiter and he used this same tune to compose I vow to thee my country.

The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
I heard my country calling, away across the sea,
Across the waves and waters, she calls and calls to me.
Her sword is girded at her side, her helmet on her head,[6]
And around her feet are lying the dying and the dead;
I hear the noise of battle, the thunder of her guns;
I haste to thee, my mother, a son among thy sons.
And there's another country, I've heard of long ago,
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace.
Just one word needed Beautiful 🙏💚
