A Los Angeles man thinks he knows how to fix the city's homeless problem. TK Devine says he got his inspiration from, of all things, a portable toilet. He thinks Port-a-Homes would make the perfect space for someone in need because even though they're small compared to the average apartment, his design covers every person's basic needs. Such a 'DEBBIE DOWNER' but, SO TRUE! I saw a simular YouTub clip of it. He use scrap wood he found in dumpsters & on the side of the road & other items to build them. I don't see how getting rid of those homes would hurt the city. I think it is quite possible it could HELP the city.
For one, the streets wouldn't be full of people sleeping in public places & looking bad. It looks bad to a visitor & it reflects poorly on the city itself.
Two, clean streets may cause others to move into the city which will bring in more money. (?)

This is an old clip, but the homeless issue in this present day in LA has only worsened since. I recently had the chance to enter a handicap pottie and it is huge, much bigger than the average one. His idea of converting it into an tiny home for the homeless is genius and genuine thinking. My only disappointment is I have heard nothing of his idea via media, but I'll bet I would have had the city received revenue.
This is amazing this is my kind of people I'm all for trying to make a difference and helping people in need. God bless him on this mission 🙏

imagine having "trailer park" but instead you got hundreds of these and leasing them out to people like a real home. Also, have communal shower rooms. great idea for single people that cant afford much crazy rent in LA.

this is the best idea i have ever thought of. people can sleep well and be SAFE. we as humans spend over half our life time sleeping and i think that the homeless should just have the quality of life we all live. we only get one life time so we need to live it to the fullest!

Money has nothing to do with my situation. So after 3 years of bei g on the streets.. I now rent a home in Florida and work full time. Dont be quick to judge before you know someone's story or their situation.

I can tell your from experience, when you’re homeless all you want is an area big enough to lay down in with walls and a door that locks. That’s it lol. You can eat at churches and use public restrooms and do everything else in other places, but a safe place just to lay your head that you can call yours is the most amazing feeling when you’re homeless.

Just buy a huge shed from Home Depot and insulate it.
More secure barrier then a nylon tent, or nothing at all.
Those sheds cost upwards of $1500.
Rachel X. Insulating one of those sheds is very expensive & cost-prohibitive... plus it's not easy to effectively do it as it turns out. (Plus it violates regulations in almost every area of the US.)
If you had to sleep & try to live outside, that thin layer of plastic would feel like a mansion & a profound blessing to you. Trust me.
