My only criticism is Why not give us a summary of everything like some slides with all the lineups to see in one screen all the players divided by decade
Barry my wife’s boyfriends dog recently died of a marijuana overdose. This video made me feel a whole lot better about the situation thank you so much for your heroism.
Hakeem was on the Rockets throughout the entire decade, we need to stop acting like these teams were some juggernaut that MJ lucked out on avoiding. The 94 team was really good, but the 95’ team was a 6 seed that lucked out in playing an extremely inexperienced Magic team in the finals. Every single one of the Bulls teams that won a championship were better than both of those rockets teams.
I’m going to say this once and for all, what KD did would be the exact equivalent to LeBron leaving Cleveland after losing the 2009 ECF to the 59-23 Magic to join them right after they lost the Finals to the Lakers where Kobe finally proved he can win without Shaq. Then the Magic win three consecutive titles from 2010-12 before getting injured in 2013 then joining two top tier guards on the Brooklyn Nets. Imagine how much more fodder that would’ve given LeBron haters had he done that instead. They’d be calling him LeQuitter, LeCoward, etc.
Great video! Agree with most of this. My corrections below (using your voice): 1960's, Michael Jordan. He was born in 1963 and his mere presence on our Earth influenced Wilt and the rest of the players of that decade. 1970's, Michael Jordan. His early high school footage took social media by storm and it prompted that decade to get their best basketball in now before it's too late. 1980's, Michael Jordan. Magic and Bird colluded to make the most of their rivalry knowing Jordan was on his way to the NBA. 2000's, Michael Jordan. You know he played on the Wizards, right? 2010's, Michael Jordan. Lebron wanted to be just like Jorda..excuse me, the GOAT. He came up short though, and all the credit goes to Jordan. Just like copyright infringement laws, this too would hold up in court.
Note about Russell's scoring: he led team USA in scoring en route to gold at the 1956 Olympics and he had a 30 point 40 rebound game 7 in the 1962 Finals to secure his fifth title in six seasons. He's a very underrated legend and my favorite player along with Lebron.
yeah, it's a bit annoying how he makes exasperated comments about how "everything boils down to jordan vs lebron" while lacking the self-awareness that HE is the absolute poster child of making everything boil down to jordan vs lebron. i know a good bit of it is trolling but it really is just kind of sad to watch. would be a perfect video if it weren't for the whining whenever anything even somewhat related to michael jordan or lebron james was brought up. wish he would just give players their props and bring up relevant points of conversation instead of making everything about this narrative

Great content. Comments about Jordan are crazy, because the 90’s has some of the greatest players of all time. Shaq, Tim, MJ, Hakeem, Magic (who won a MVP), Kobe, Barkley, Drexler, etc… like it’s ok to admit Jordan is the greatest. Talk about Lebron not winning a ring without creating his own teams, or Kareem benefiting from a weak era and playing alongside great players.

Pretty good list and I agree with most everything. There are 2 things I would change, the first is I would have Bill Russell as the player of the 60’s. Wilt has the stats, but if you read articles from the time period and listen to interviews with players from that period, most say Russell was superior. LeBron is unquestionably a better player than KG, but KG’s résumé in the 2000’s is exponentially better than LeBron’s.
As a Lebron fan, I can definitely agree with the second one I although I would have Kobe is the player of the decade. I would take out Chris Paul. And put. Both Kawhi and Harden. Also, I think hard and should’ve won MVP in 2019 but that’s off topic.

Obviously it’s not a clear cut answer and that’s why the debate will exist long after I’m dead, but his main argument seems to be doing the one thing he hates and that’s overlooking one person’s situation to prop up another.
Barry would you consider doing a video of the 2nd team all decade teams from these decades? I think that raises several interesting debates. The 2nd team all 80s team would have a few shooting guards most likely like Moncrief and English.

Obviously Lebron had played more than Kareem at age 38, he didn't have to spend four years in college. If Kareem had ben able to enter the draft out of high school Lebron probably would be a couple seasons of the points record.
Pretty solid listing! I'm wondering if there can be a case for Isiah Thomas to make the list in the 1980's, but you can't really get rid of any of the other 5 people mentioned
I think I would’ve given Kawhi the spot in the 2010s over CP3. Two championships, two Finals MVPs, and one of the greatest perimeter defenders and playoffs performers of all time. CP3 does have consistency over him.
So many jabs about the KD stuff and not even a peep about creating the creation of the super team of superteams in Miami or the choke job against Dallas. Interesting...

Bruh I’m saying 😭😭😭 he sounded fanned out as soon as he got a chance to mention Bron! Talked crazy about MJ fans, Steph fans and then sounded like a bronsexual with every excuse in the book for him!
It's so blatantly unfair to act like the older era players would suck in today's NBA. Mason Plumlee has shoe technology, training regiments, diets, and coaching philosophies completely unheard of in George Mikan's time. You give George Mikan what Plumlee has gotten (which is a reasonable thing to do when placing a player in today's era), Mikan would be one of the best players in the league.
Watch whatever film you can find from George Milan’s era. It’s pretty laughable. I think an average varsity basketball player today would dominate in the 1950s, regardless of technology.
@jakemitchell5793 You don't think the players from the 50's would play differently if they were coached by Gregg Popovich? You think they would stubbornly play and look the same way? No, of course not.
Hey Barry! Love the videos, Had an idea, it would cool for you to rate the best USA basketball teams, and finally settle the debate between the dream team of 92 and the redeem team of 2012. My 2 cents on it would have been awesome if Dwight was healthy to be apart of that '12 team, they might have been the key in my opinion in putting them over the 92 team.
Crazy to think about how drastically this list would change if you shift the parameters by five years (1975-85, 85-95, etc) who would you take between MJ and Shaq for 95-05? Could be an interesting video
As a Thunder fan, please make a 50min video about KD. I'll even give you additional things to think about.. -we had a powerful tornado around ~2011 that wrecked Blanchard/ Bridgebreek. Tornado skipped my house but threw the next a house a block down several miles. Talking apocalypse the day after with roads blocked by everything you fan think of. I met KD that day, he helped with the cleanup, as did many others. He was genuine then. -Met him again, as he used. To bike around Lake Hefner. He was a quiet, genuine dude early on. Met WB too who was... well, tells it how it is kind of genuine. Both were cool young, never met KD again but did have WB meet my daughter in like 2014/ 2015 where he ignored me and was super cool to her (natural Dad kinda vibe). KD walked by by didn't give a crap, almost seemed annoyed... sucked since I felt I kinda knew him. -in OKC we had a KD restaurant a few months before he left next to a Toby Keith restaurant. Like OVER THE TOP fandom/ self loathing that felt kinda cheesy, but hey I loved the man and felt there's no way he leaves as why make a shrine to yourself then duck out? He did though. Only stayed open for a few months before it got vandalized after he left then changed to a generic company without the KD stuff. Recommend looking into that because it's a weird piece to the pie.

I think you're really underrating the talent level of the 1970s Elvin Hayes was just an amazing player and there were other great guys to like Bob dandridge and McAdoo. Also there was Dave cowens and John havlicek. It was a very talented decade it just didn't have the superstars besides Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Crazy how Larry Bird is basically LeBron but without the longevity. And yeah, I don't know how Kareem isn't right alongside LeBron and MJ all time. Anyone leaving him out are suffering from severe MJ-poisond brain.
There were lots of great individual players in the 1990s, but they didn’t play on the same team. It was an expansion era, and an era devoid of superteams. I don’t think Barry (and others) are claiming the players in the 1990s were worse, just that they were all spread over different teams, so there were no real strong strong teams like there had been in the 1980s and would be during the 2010s.
aside from the 2017 and 2018 warriors which teams has lebron faced that were better than the 80s celtics or the bad boy pistons? i lm genuinely curious
I generally hear that MJ’s finals competition was worse, but that the competition in the conference he made it out of was better. Sounds like it evens out to me.

Obviously Lebron had played more than Kareem at age 38, he didn't have to spend four years in college. If Kareem had ben able to enter the draft out of high school Lebron probably would be a couple seasons of the points record.
More people gotta be like Barry just straight up facts
Respect Barry! I appreciate your honesty.
Another banger from Barry. Love the content
Pretty solid listing! I'm wondering if there can be a case for Isiah Thomas to make the list in the 1980's, but you can't really get rid of any of the other 5 people mentioned
2020s all-decade team prediction
1.Victor Wembanyama
2.Jokic
3.Jaden Ivey
4.Luka
5. SGA
Honorable mentions
Shaedon Sharpe
Giannis
Zion
Mobley
Tatum
Ivey?
I think I would’ve given Kawhi the spot in the 2010s over CP3.
Two championships, two Finals MVPs, and one of the greatest perimeter defenders and playoffs performers of all time. CP3 does have consistency over him.
Barry you should make some weekly nba reviews and playoff series reviews
I don't think anyone minds Lebron being included in any basketball great list except for the list of top 1. Dude is a baller.
Bro says MJ didn’t play great teams but turns around and says LeBron is the GOAT for dominating the Pacers and Raptors.
Fr bro played the freaking Hawks in the conference finals one year, I mean who even was their best player, Al Horford?

So many jabs about the KD stuff and not even a peep about creating the creation of the super team of superteams in Miami or the choke job against Dallas. Interesting...

I had to look up a Pettit interview 😂 he really does sound like foghorn leghorn
First MVP in league history.
It's funny how Barry wants the fans to have good faith when it comes to talking about anybody not named Labron James lol 😂😂😂😂😂 Get that shit outta here
Bruh I’m saying 😭😭😭 he sounded fanned out as soon as he got a chance to mention Bron! Talked crazy about MJ fans, Steph fans and then sounded like a bronsexual with every excuse in the book for him!
@@kylanwilson8593 he talks crazy like every fan does about there favorite player 🥴
@Kylan Wilson its funny tho so idc plus everyone knows lebron and mj are the goats
Hes a lebron hack
good bait
@@jakemitchell5793 and people who genuinely think that these dudes wouldnt be great with modern training and technology r delusional
Redeem team was ‘08 not ‘12
Thanks Barry my wife’s boyfriend loved this video!
Bob Lanier reminds me of a less athletic Joel embidd, but with more hustle and a chip on his shoulder
Remember when NBA 2K10 had these decade teams? Good times.
Crazy to think about how drastically this list would change if you shift the parameters by five years (1975-85, 85-95, etc) who would you take between MJ and Shaq for 95-05? Could be an interesting video
BARRY🐐
Hey Barry! Youre thoughts on Kevin Love for overrated, underrated or properly rated?
Wade over Dirk
Kawhi over CP3
Otherwise I mostly agree.
Wade doesn’t fit the same slot dirk does

Nice Video But how does this affect LeBron’s legacy?
We need an all time 5 round draft please!! Every player in their prime
I'm still not convinced this Draft Kings ad is not him trolling us
Can you do a redux of your top 12 players list seeing as you have different opinions on certain players now.
Recommend looking into that because it's a weird piece to the pie.
is it me, or does his voice sound different in the beginning?
Kawhi > Harden any day
This video was an amazing bday present Barry!
Chris Paul over Kawhi, or Westbrook for the all decade 2010s is hilarious. I agreed with most of what you said, until I saw Chris Paul.

I’d take Payton over Stockton, but that’s just me.
The 70s had great talent but so many players had personal issues
Because there’s basically nobody that we rank top 20 or 25 nowadays other than Kareem, the 70’s is often labeled trash.
Would you consider jokic all decade team for 2020-2029? This early ?
Yes, it’s Jokic, Giannis, Reaves, Rui, and Caleb Smith

Mine for the 2020s are lebron, Giannis, luka, jokic, and embiid
Luka will end up as the best player of the 2020s.
@@FearsomeVoid yeah probably
Crazy how Larry Bird is basically LeBron but without the longevity. And yeah, I don't know how Kareem isn't right alongside LeBron and MJ all time. Anyone leaving him out are suffering from severe MJ-poisond brain.
How many finals MVPS does Kareem have, how many do MJ and Bron have. Thought so
What does that have to do with Jordan? Lebron fans don’t put him in that conversation either
he is the unanimous #3 all time but he really shouldn’t be any higher because he got most of his MVPs in the starless 70s
