Can't wait for the government to set it up, wE have to get in there! NO ONE can afford to pay "administrative costs" to agencies. They're going to need more than $750 to come BACK from this. I used to have three generators that were for emergencies. I sold one two years ago, gave one away and the third needs some repair. I never got to use them because my off-grid solar does the job cheaper, quieter, and without gas cans. I live in East Texas and took the second one to my sons place in Tennessee but also helped him put in off-grid solar because it is a couple of miles from grid service in the Sequatchie Valley. He brought it back because he doesn’t need it. It’s a shame that people don’t know how easy and inexpensive it is to get started DIY in these hollers . You can add batteries and inverter capacity progressively with the savings. The factor many overlook that makes solar better than generators is that it starts paying for itself from day one. The generator needs maintenance and fuel from day one whether you use it or not. The sun comes up and fills your tank (battery) every day. It doesn’t take much capacity to run a refrigerator and a few lights so even on overcast days you can get by with a little change in lifestyle.
