I survived Hurricane Katrina as an essential worker at a hospital near the beach. I still have night terrors almost 20 yrs later. People were dismissive of that one too & there’s still a missing persons list & we never fully recover. So, I am enraged at the stubborn, entitled persons risking their family by not evacuating & even driving around like it’s another regular old Wednesday. I volunteered to help our local coroner to sort & store BODY PARTS of victims, cause yeah, people not always die in one piece during a natural disaster & during that time we were finding ourselves in stifling silence. Then, about two weeks in, the coroner said, ”If people just left when they were supposed to, I’d have less bodies to count.” That hit hard to hear, a physical gut punch. So, it’s not brave to be filming yourself in a car surrounded by flood water, it’s not heroic vlogging live standing on your porch. Elect a clown, and you get a whole circus... a circus that plays games with people's lives. Georgia deserves someone better as their leader. It's all just about themselves and money.
It's frustrating to hear all the talk about Biden's "confusion" when he's actively working on hurricane relief, striving for peace in the Middle East despite the lack of genuine peace efforts from both sides except for the families just trying to get by, and engaging in bipartisan negotiations.
I think we're all praying for them. I have a really bad feeling too. Although I'm not sure why I'm so worried since I don't know anyone there or even know someone that knows someone. I hope those first responders down there stay safe.
That was awesome 👏🏼.. predicting a water spout / tornado then watching it cross the camera live was excellent !! Great job guys !! 👏🏼👏🏼 well done !! Bravo 👏🏼
It was reported and then started to be tracked. If you throw a ball down a court you can predict pmuch the direction and someone could go to the other end/half way and watch it as it passes. You’re pretty dumb. Don’t make future generations of that gene pool please.
That happened to me over a decade ago. The windshield looked like I was underwater, the water just sloshing sideways across it. The car was rocking like it would flip, and I didn’t want to keep driving because I couldn’t see anything but water outside the car in any direction. Found out when I arrived at work, that they were asking people not to leave due to the severe thunderstorm, and a waterspout had been tracked crossing the causeway as I was driving over it.
We got stuck in a storm like that in Tallahassee. Not a hurricane, just a bad thunderstorm. Even the tractor trailers were pulling over to the side of the road. Could not see anything. Very scary. In FL they have signs overhead warning you of the storm, but we didn't have anywhere to go as we were just traveling through.
I have family in that area. They have evacuated but I still pray for the people who are left behind or chose to stay. My hats off to those first responders. Thank You For All That You Do. May God be with you, your families, and your property.
Those first responders should be given a medal for bravery keeping folk off the bridge, bit having to stay put themselves in the midst of that storm moving over the bridge.
I am in Australia. I saw on the news over there the first responders are taken off the streets once winds get to a certain strength. Makes me sick how irresponsible the public are with other people's lives not heeding warnings >:(
It's definitely been in the news. Seniors who rely on their home equity for financial stability might have faced some challenges if their homes were affected.
That's true. I can imagine the stress they might be under, especially if their homes were damaged or if they had to evacuate. Their financial situation could be quite vulnerable.
Absolutely, and even if their homes weren't directly hit, the economic fallout from the hurricane could have ripple effects on property values, which could impact their home equity.
That's a valid point. If the local housing market takes a hit due to the hurricane, it could affect property values and subsequently impact seniors' home equity. This could impact their retirement plans
I also wonder if insurance coverage plays a role here. Seniors who were affected might rely on insurance to cover repairs, but the extent of coverage could vary and potentially impact their ability to tap into their home equity.
Additionally, the emotional toll of dealing with a natural disaster like this could impact seniors' decision-making. They might be hesitant to make major financial decisions, including leveraging their home equity.
As an Australian we have seen our share of serious cyclones in the northern parts of our country. Prayers are sent to the residents of Florida, essential emergency workers and those who have flown into help, and highly worried family and friends who live in other parts of the country but have people in Florida, and the Eastern states. Awaiting Hurricane Milton's impact, so soon after Hurricane Helene, even all the way here in Australia, is stressful and so I send my prayers for your safety to all of you.🙏🙏🙏🙏
Because it's not as bad as the media portrays it... I've never evacuated from the path of a Hurricane and I lived in FL most of my life. Where I lived though was about 45 minutes inland from the beach though.
The hurricane initially presented significant risks, reaching maximum sustained winds of 130 mph. As it approached land, concerns grew regarding heavy rainfall and powerful gusts that could lead to flooding and infrastructure damage. Monitoring updates and safety advisories were crucial for those in its path. If you're interested in more detailed information, including the latest developments, check local news sources or the National Weather Service.
As a Zimbabwean/African, I send tons of Love, Christ Light, Prayers, Healing, Blessings, Best Wishes and Kind Thoughts to all affected in Florida right now. The angels are with you all. 🤍💛🤍💛🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🕊🕊
How are they brave? They are not doing anything, they just parked their vehicle in the worst possible place and in full glare of the hurricane. They are a liability as they have put themselves in a position where it is likely that they will need rescuing themselves.

Some people don't run from danger sparky, they put themselves in it in order to help others.
I cannot believe the balls on some people. This has been brewing for a week now and PLENTY of warnings have been issued. YET there are always people who think they should chance and brave it...WHY ARE THEY ON THE ROAD?! That is so selfish. I can't think of a good reason to see that much traffic still. They could be emergency workers and people coming in from other States and Canada to assist. Not everyone can get out, there's a hospital in Tampa loaded with patients too sick/injured to be moved, family might come in to be with their loved ones regardless of what happens. Who really knows, there's lot of reasons why they could still be there.
That would be extremely poor planning and THAT is exactly how you get someone killed. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for first responders, knowing they can't trust the intelligence of people. We had windgusts HALF the speed that those guys are experiencing and it's bloody frightening. I think it's time to educate people better on emergency preparedness.
@@carly4513 well yeah, but the people who work in the hospitals should be looked after closely. They just go home casually, left to their own peril? Are there no special rooms, hotels etc setup to keep people safe and close to where they are needed? Grocery stores should remain closed, again, they had a whole week to prepare. I wouldn't expect anything to be open, while there are trees and fence posts flying through the air. My kind of thinking is obviously flawed in some way, but out here in the back country, we just naturally rely on ourselves. So I just don't understand it.

Yea, sounds just as absurd as your suggestion.🙄If you're not going to learn about who "God" is & read the Bible for understanding, then you're just wasting valuable time putting your ignorance on display. It's really UNWISE to be wasting valuable time on ignorance because there is only a finite amount of time for each person. As it is written in James 4:14, "...whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away."
THINK about what you're doing with your life and time, use it to get to know God and His Son Jesus Christ AND show your Family how much you love them because you/they can be gone from this life in an instant, which is what these people are facing in FL, those in NC, TN and other areas have also experienced. "God" isn't hovering out in the ocean "twirling His Finger, spinning storms to ravage the land and take people's lives, creating fear, heartache and despair...." The devil loves FEAR and one label given him is "prince of the power of the air." He possesses SOME power/authority to wreak havoc upon the Earth.
God also CURSED THE GROUND when Adam & Even disobeyed Him so the Earth is a DANGEROUS PLACE as much as it is beautiful. He has created a variety of processes which are "self-governing." He's not floating in space "grabbing dust and shaping new planets", it's a self-governing process just as you don't have to physically grab your abdomen and extend it to breathe or physically depress it to exhale every few seconds. It's an "involuntary contraction", a self-governing process carried out by the brain, all of which God created....

It's all just about themselves and money.

The hurricane initially presented significant risks, reaching maximum sustained winds of 130 mph. As it approached land, concerns grew regarding heavy rainfall and powerful gusts that could lead to flooding and infrastructure damage. Someone please enlighten me.

I wouldn't expect anything to be open, while there are trees and fence posts flying through the air. My kind of thinking is obviously flawed in some way, but out here in the back country, we just naturally rely on ourselves. So I just don't understand it.
