I lost my 20 year old cat from this in 2020 during the pandemic...she was my everything ....i have never had a bond with any other animal like I did with her ...she loved me so much that she would sit by the front door and cry when I would leave for work and my husband told me that she would barely move from the door unless she had to eat or use the litter box ...as soon as I got home she would follow me everywhere and she would not leave my side ...when she turned 20 years old she started to lose weight at a very rapid date and she would vomit a lot and she was also starting to have dental problems ...by the time I took her to the vet I was told that she might have a month left to live because she was having endstage renal failure....the the last week with her was heartbreaking because she got very weak and she had lost control of her bowels and then when she quit eating I knew it as the end ...I just knew she was about to pass....the morning she passed away I had made a little bed for her right next to me in my bed ..she wanted to be next to me but the smell from her losing control of her bowels was really bad....about 30 minutes before she passed away she used very ounce of energy she had and she got out of her bed and stumbled next to me ....I knew this was it so I let her stay next to me with poop smell and all ...I loved her so much that I didn't care and she wanted to be next to me ...I was petting her and her breathing was very shallow and her body was cold ....I was crying uncontrollably because I knew this was it...she ended up letting out a soft meow and then she had a smell seizure and peed herself and that was it ...she wanted to be next to her me when she passed away ...she passed away on Feb. 4th 2020 at 9:10 am ...I miss you terribly ..I have adopted another cat but and I love him but I'm just not bonding with him the same way I did with her ....I think all of us have had that one pet that we just had that special bond with and no other pet can replace that ....her name was smokey and she was a. Beautiful black and grey tabby cat....I miss her so much ...I like to believe that one day I will be reunited with her ...I feel bad for others that have to go through this with their cats ...it's terrible and heartbreaking so just enjoy the time you have with your furbaby because one day you will have to watch then go over the rainbow bridge!!
@@Maddie-5 I'm so sorry for your heartbreak ....trust me....I know how it feels and it can be just as heartbreaking as losing a human family member...at least it was for me!!!
I am going through this at the moment its breaking me, my baby boy has only just turned 10 we have a special bond he has just been diagnosed last week with stage 2 Chronic Kidney disease but the scan showed one kidney blocked the other with a stone the vets tried flushing with IV fluids he waa there 3 days he was so distresses so I stopped the vets and bought him home on meds to help relax his tract the vets said this might help the sludge blockage pass but it's making him restless we've been up all night. so so distressing because he trusts me to look after him and I can't help him. the only other option is surgery to unblock tubes but it comes with possibly 40% chance of complications, is painful and no guarantee itll work. I am just beside myself with stress and worry 😢
Cheryl thank you. This monday my kitty Prince was diagnosed with kidney failure. He is not eating. Taking sub cuteanous liquid at the vet. This is day 3. He is a special boy. “Gentle giant”. I saw all the signs they speak about. Very thirsty, peeing a lot, pee didnt have a yellow tint. But i didn’t react soon enough. Hard to say but i believe its my fault. If only i would have reacted early. He is 7 years old. Thank you for reading.
we put our baby boy of 10 years down yesterday from advanced kidney failure. im broken and a wreck right now. i knew i did the right thing and end his suffering but part of me still feels the guilt i didnt do enough for him. i know hes free and happy now up there. love you my Michi.
Woman with 10 year old son denied kidney transplant cause unvaccinated shes a human being she is so good there not helping her washington state seattle transplant centre 🖤💉🖤☀️
I can really relate to that. Losing a pet is heartbreaking and it's like a part of you is missing. It's hard to sleep, think, and even swallow because their presence is deeply missed. My 17-year-old cat has been dealing with chronic kidney disease for two years, and every time I leave the vet's office, I feel hopeless. The progression of her disease is devastating, and I wish I could slow it down. I'm never prepared for the day I'll have to say goodbye.
imo , do not let the vet have you do at home hydration and force feeding , etc.. I did that with my baby that passed away three years ago, it was torture for the cat. The vet doesn't care about the right choice , some do.. don't get me wrong. But most of them want you to spend spend spend so they can practice their ways and try different dosages of medicine , let their new techs get practice and training etc. You want the last weeks or days to be at home with you.
You missed the message of this video entirely if you aee asking that yoyr cat "heal". No cure for this disease for yout cat to heal dear. If you think your cat has the disease, start treating and then pray with that. Learn to do fluid therapy at home once your Vet. recommemds it. Fluid therapy at home and kidney food, plus vitamins etc. helped my cat.
My sweet old man baby, Bam Bam, had chronic kidney disease but ended up dying from acute on chronic renal failure on Christmas of 2021 as an adverse reaction to an antibiotic. He was 16, one week short of being 16 and a half (his half birthday would have been the day after New Year's). He died at the vet but I held him all night while we were waiting for the veterinary clinic to open so we could bring him in. He was so sick and couldn't walk so I just held him like a baby and cuddled him and loved on him all night. I just hope he knew how loved he was.
TY so much. I lost my feline Rufus to Kidney Failure. About a week & a half ago I started to notice the weight loss. I was able to get him into the Vet 5 days ago. Started to give him IV fluids at home. Meds for appetite & nausea. Unfortunately, as the Vet told me years ago with another loved pet, “By the time U notice something wrong, it’s too late. The hide pain as to not tip their vulnerability to a predator.” I could on for days on how I loved & failed Rufus, but I’ll spare U. Love & Enjoy ur little beloved adopted family members, for it’s never love enough. Many Blessings All 🙏🇺🇸
Had to put down my dear friend three days ago. Yasha was 21. He had cancer and it affected his kidneys, so he got ckd as well. It was always two steps forward one step back since the diagnosis and first symptoms, but when it became one step forward two steps back we decided to let him go. So happy that he was able to drink and move (even jump) till his last day, but the loss breaks my heart. He fought the diseases for 6 months, such a brave little boy. ❤ Unfortunately, the diet and phosphate binders stopped helping him.
What an awful disease. Most, if not all, of my cats ultimately passed away due to kidney failure and/or its after effects. I _just_ recently lost my 17 year old girl to it, broke my damn heart. I've had many cats in my lifetime... but she was extra special.😥💔
I had the same experience. I had to learn that life doesnt guarantee a long experience with the cat you own. Just feed them carefully and dillegently with nutrient based foods with low ash and mix dry and moist food for the balance the kidneys may need throughout their life cycles.
My cat died from cancer I had the same thing but no kidney failure it was a tumor he was getting weaker, he was limping we had to help him he wouldn't eat, drink barley talked. When I got home from shopping I looked everywhere for him but when my mum came home she said "honey we might have to take him to the vet, he can't get up". He tried getting up but then fell on my leg I was crying for a whole month. He was my brother my everything I remember his craziness.. He died December 9th at 6:50 we said we loved him and that it was okay to go. His name was Phoenix. At least he's not suffering anymore see you on the other side feeny 😭
For those with limited finances or veterinary care, over the counter kitten milk replacer has worked wonders with every cat and kidney issue that I could catch. Have seen it set in with in what seems like moments though. Have to be vigil about kindey health. Let them wien as long as possible and still give them a healthy diet(kitten milk/and kidney support foods) helps a lot in prevention or delaying.
Hello, are you suggesting that kitten milk replacer is able to somewhat improve kidney health? I have some kittens who had an infection, were given antiobiotics and other fluids for 3 days. Today, they asked to give them a kidney tonic (herbal) but when they were given it orally, they started to kind of choke, and also cough. The vet said that it tastes slightly unpleasant which is why they were coughing... If I could use a kitten milk replacer to strengthen their kidneys, of course that'd be more appetising for them.
I am so so sad. 4 months ago, I've lost 2 of my aunties. Their passing away was unexpected. After that, my grandma couldn't take it anymore, she was gone due to heartfailure too. Within a period of a month, I have lost 3 relatives who were very dear to me. Our family was dealing with the shock of the crippling grief. And we were unable to recognise the changes our cat went through. He was already an adult cat when he chose to live with us. We've spent 15 years together so I assume Smoke was older than 15. And he passed away yesterday morning too. There are no words to describe how I feel. I am dying of guilt. My poor precious boy. Oh how I wish I could discover this before it was too late.
Frida , even if you did discover it early. You would only prolong your baby's suffering with vet visits , medications , needles in her body for hydration , etc.. I've been there with my cat that was around the same age. I did it for two weeks and my baby hated every second of it. My last cat just passed away two days ago. When I took her to the vet three weeks back , they told me she has acute kidney issues etc.. Same as her sister. This cat that just passed was 22 years old. The vet wanted to keep her for a few days for hydration , give her meds etc.. I declined , even in this particular appointment , my kitty was walking around and jumping on couches inside the lobby , walking around like she wasn't bothered by anything. But you can see she was old with her 4.5 lb self walking around. I decided to bring her home and give her the best time she could have. Please don't feel guilty , but it's easier said than done. I am also feeling massive amounts of guilt but it's normal for pet owners to feel that. Please just think of your baby as gods gift to bring you happiness while she was here. We will all be reunited with our babys in the afterlife. Stay strong.
@@reza_dc2 Your words gave me strength. I just wish I could see what was happening. Maybe adding extra water and changing his diet would help him spend more years by our side. Don't know. Thank you for your kind words. All I hope for is to be able to meet with my loved ones on the other side.
Oh dear it is not your fault. Please don't feel guilty. In some situations we are powerless and should have to accept life as it comes. May God bless your cat's soul and bless you all.
@@fridakahlo4225I'm going through the same with my cat. Of course we make mistakes. Yes, you could have managed it better but now you know. You loved your cat and he loved you.
I went through this and my cat lost weight and was very largartic and urinated where he wanted . He did eat but not much else. Since his 15th birthday was very close after his diagnoses we enjoyed his final birthday and I had to put him down. I was heartbroken but as luck would have it shopping soon after in a store walking down a radom isle I saw a single cup that had a cat painting on it that looked like my cat. It was sign he was alright. ❤
I’m so sorry my 15 year old Siamese has stage 1 the vet said 1 month ago. What did you get your cat to eat. Mine is very picky but now the last 3 days has become really lethargic and also urinating everywhere now never done that before any suggestions? I also hate to put him down but don’t want to suffer either
My Kisha went into acute failure after exposure to my arthritis cream when she was 2 yo. It only took a few licks of my hand to do this. We caught it when she became lethargic, stopped eating and I took her in. It took weeks to find the cause. In the meantime we started aggressive fluid treatments and experimental stem cell therapy. Ultimately I gave her sub-q fluids 3x a week for 7 years along with K/D food in which she led a happy kitty life for many years. In was only in here last few weeks at the age of 9 did it go south quickly. Kidney failure in and of itself isn’t necessarily painful like how humans think of pain. Pancreatitis is painful. Kidney failure isn’t like that. As long as your cat is active and responding to fluid therapy, keep it up and let them live their lives with you. Sub-Q’s aren’t difficult to do at home after you and your cat learn the process. Start by doing them at your vet clinic where you have backup help. It can take up to a year to get onto the groove. Once you both do, the skill will carry over to any other cat child you ever have. It’s a good thing to know how to do.
Someone poisoned my cat with something to look like he is dying of a disease but I know he was poisoned. He was ok one day, and I had a break in at my home and he got sick right after it to go down drastically.
My 17 year old cat is getting closer to stage 4. He’s been at stage 3 for a couple or years now. I’m trying to gather all of the courage I have because I refuse to let him suffer. I made that mistake once. I held on too long and have deeply regretted it. My cat is the happiest cat I’ve ever seen. I won’t let the end of his life be miserable. A few more months of having him with me isn’t fair to him.
I had a home euthanasia service for my 16 year old. She was distended and stopped eating. It was obvious the end was here, but even two years later I still have an irrational guilt that she died by my decision.
@@BoiseTriathlete our cats will die. You just gave them dignity and saved them suffering. Without your intervention it would be a miserable death. You gave them a wonderful life.
@@BoiseTriathlete Trust me bud , having her cross that bridge at home is way better than at the vet. People that take thier babys to the vet are making a mistake imo.
@@reza_dc2 😥 This year i took my cat 10 years old to the vet because she lost apetite. In the last 3 weeks of her life, i did all the checks, following the vets instruction giving prednisolon and antibiotic at home, feeding her with syringe, and in every visit to the vet, they just told me "keep doing what you've been doing and will be fine". And i had hope, because the vet said so. But i could see how my cat was getting worse every day, untill she died! I'm so sorry baby. I wanted to kill myself after that, from guilt, heartbreaking. It is horrible. I cry a lot, i can hardly breath, i've isolatet myself completly from everyone, can not sleep. Life looks ugly and unsafe. Vets are really inhumane. They think only about the money and don't give a damn of how their actions kill animals and break our soul forever. The only reason i'm still alive is that i do have another cat who needs me.
@@fabiolaballiubefore my vet euthanized my cat, he had all the vets in the clinic vote so they can share my guilt with me. Two out of 4 disagreed and wanted me to bring her home and then retest the levels tomorrow whether they improved or not. That doesn't change anything, though. She was in constant pain. I'm glad my vet stood up for my decision (he agreed and is very supportive that I let my child go). Even if her levels improve the next day, that will not give her years. My baby is in Stage 4 and she no longer ate, no longer slept, cannot pee and her stomach is a bubble that inconvenienced her lungs. I will never stop blaming myself, but I find solace in knowing that her constant pain is now over. And those tests alone break the fucking bank account, but if they told me there was a chance I would have sold my soul to make her get better.
I lost my 12 years old Bailey boy yesterday. He was in pain for one day and then on last day had seizures. Found out right at the end . It’s heartbreaking
We believe our 7 year old cat passed from acute failure a couple weeks ago. The circumstances made it difficult for us to realize how sick she really was until it was too late. Our dogs had just had puppies and so we had to give much of our attention to them in the last few months. And her being a cat she always took care of herself for the most part. We thought maybe she was depressed from the decreased attention she was receiving, and that was causing the weight loss, so we started to make changes. By the time we decided it had to be something more seriousit was too late. The vet said there wasn’t much they could do. I am racked with guilt over this because in the end we don’t really know for sure why it happened, but I can’t help thinking if things had been different, she would still be here. My family had dogs and cats growing up and I have always preferred the former until meeting our Winnie. She was just so sweet and outgoing, something I had never seen before. My pets have always been family to me, not just animals, and to think I failed her so horribly is tearing me apart.
Please don't underestimate how much our pets hide from us when they are not well. What your cat hid from you is not your fault. When my dog died, I didn't have the faintest idea that she was passing. A few months before she died, I took her to the vet, and they said she was just getting a little fat rolls. So when I found out she had cancer that was a complete shock. My dog hid it very well. You can't blame yourself for what your animal didn't want to show you. My deepest sympathies.
Robert , buddy.. It's not your fault , I know the guilt feeling. I am going through it now... The reality is , even if you did catch it where you could treat it.. It would have been vet visits , medications , force feeding , needles in her back daily for Hydration IV drips.. Your baby would have hated it , trust me on that. I did that with my second to last cat three years ago. It was out of my own selfishness that I did that. Prolonging her presence to make me happy , when in reality she was already ready to go. Stay strong man and think of the positives.
It's not your fault. When cats get to that stage, they don't want to stay here anymore. Cats are wonderfully smart and caring. They know and they start to distance themselves so as not to cause you worry. I lost mine today, and there was no way I could have stopped it. She was tired, and when I put her in her car box to go to the vet, tucked in my dressing gown, she was purring, despite her pain. She was ready to go, I'm sure your cat was too and now they are at peace ❤
My 14 year old cat passed away from this. He actually ate up until the end even with severe mouth ulcers. But he still lost so much weight plus was drinking and peeing way too much. He was my best friend
My cat has chronic kidney disease with a severe mouth ulcers too 😢. What sort of medication you gave your cat for his ulcers? It’s heart breaking to see my cat not being able to eat because of it 😞
@@tira6448not sure if this will help but I bought some sleepery elm bark powder and made a syrup for my cat. It helped with the ulcers and the nausea. Good luck

My girl 17 was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, I booked her in for radium therapy but she stopped eating and within weeks had renal failure. I had to put her down and it broke my heart. Hyperthyroidism is a killer and needs to be detected and treated early.
Oh my gif really my 17yr old cat has the start of hyperthyroidism and to put the compound medicine on her ear I wouldn’t see her for days Was detected when she had a blood test as she was urinating outside her box however vet gave her UTI antibiotic by needle everything seemed ok she always ate and drank too Then Friday I noticed she vomited but she was not eating as she would Saturday I notice urinating outside the box again and not eating at all Then Sunday I see urine on the floor and red obviously blood in this jelly like can’t describe it.. Washed out her litter mopped up and continues clean up another 2 times I also noticed she be hesitant to go into her hidden box Took it out and it’s soaked with urine my concern was not eating as he loved her food Today Monday took her to the vet Scales dropped 1.5kg since at vet last last in june she has high tempreture I noticed she is lethargic The vet put her in a drip immediately is running bloods and urine test and is keeping her in at minimum 2 days The vet looked worried and said I should of brought her in earlier I feel guilty I love my baby 17yrs been my rock I did ask the vet and told her after starting this compound medication about the distance she wouldn’t come next to me she told me to stop it I asked her will it kill her she said no it won’t She also said it was the onset of it very low in blood all I feel so guilty she said temp is due ti infection But how she is inside But I know something is wrong I can’t loose her Are these the signs
@@GypsiiSOUL Sadly yes it is likely her time. When they are failing the choice you have is let them go naturally or avoid unnecessary suffering and have them put down. When I made that choice she had stopped eating and retreated under the bed for a week and was regularly groaning. The regret I have is taking her to the Vet stressed her and in hindsight if I could have had a Vet visit at home to make her passing more relaxing for her I would feel less guilty for making that choice. It was her time she had already lost her hearing, much of her vision and was showing signs of dementia but that didn't make the decision or loosing her any easier. On the last day I carried her outside for awhile where we sat in the garden she loved so much and she purred quietly in her weakened state. Animals really are remarkable how they fight to live until the end.
My cat just died today I was crying so hard he was just my comfort I feel like he was the only one who understands me comfort me when am feeling down when I lost him I feel like I lost everything
My love, my Chapy, 16 years old has a week to live. I won't let jer suffer. But I am not feeling well due to this.... My mom is crying. Chapy is our family.
My family just lost our baby boy to Kidney failure yesterday. He was nearly 1 and a half years old, he’d been seriously sick with a different disease not long after we got him.. I don’t remember the name of the sickness, but it was horrible. We had to resort to getting a Blackmarket medicine (that had already saved the lives of many Cats outside the US) the vet couldn’t do anything for him. if we hadn’t gotten the medicine he would’ve died then… We hoped it’d be the last serious health scare for him.. but we ended up losing him anyway… I just hope we’ll be able to catch the signs in time, so don’t lose our other kitties.
Mine was 2 years and a month. She had always had watery diarrhea but the Vet said she seemed okay... We had 5 other Cats besides her so I thought it was stress related. Her eyes were almost always dilated. She would bite down on my hand many times when I tried to pet her, but not always. I feel she was going through a lot of things inside... When she died she jerked up at me in the carrier, and made their gargling sound. I think she was trying to meow at me and her body gave out at the same time... I'm sorry you are going through the same pain.
Three weeks ago I put my cat down after 9 years. He went down in a day. Tuesday night he was fine. Wednesday he was weak and Thursday he was lethargic. He had mouth ulcers and the vet said put him down. He was between stage 3 and 4
We put down our 4 year old kitty today. According to the testing she was in stage 3 but showing end stage signs. The vets didn't have much confidence that even with at least 4 days of in hospital treatment. that we couldn't afford even with insurance, she would survive. It's been a very painful day.
Same story for our 7 year old tabby. The Vet was great but came to the conclusion that even with hospitalization, bringing him back to baseline was a very slim chance. It was so far in at this point that we had to put him down.
I think my cat is dying. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 CRF in 2018, so I’m very fortunate to have had him this long, but it’s so hard. He’s my best friend. I can’t get a vet appointment until tomorrow, because I don’t have enough money for the emergency vet. I can’t stand to see him suffer.
My 13 year old Little Emmy died this week, her brother died a few months ago. I still have 2 of the litter left. Josie named after my mother that has passed and Rosie.
Such a sad reality, I lost several cats to this disease. I have since adopted a new kitty. She is on the best food with the highest amount in moisture. Like those before. I have a cat fountain and two other areas for water should the electric go out. All you can do is try preventing this the best you can. Unfortunately, you can not look in a crystal ball. But for every cat you can save thru adoption, you save a life as well. Make every moment with your kitty the best you can.
My cat is dying from this, now the vet suggest me to take him home and give every love i have for him for the last time because he may not last long at this rate
@@Brightestlightt well i just cried because he looks so weak rn usually he can even force open my door jumping to shelve, now he just sit and limping around
The guilt these people try to induce in people. The average life of a cat is 7-9 years, so those of you with these long living cats should feel no guilt. Mine is now 15 and I see he's failing. I'll have to decide to let it starve to death or have it put down. All this horrible advice to tell a person with an elderly cat to spend thousands for a few miserable months is abuse.
As a previous vet tech, you are PARTIALLY CORRECT on your age ranges. 7-9 is the average life expectancy of OUTDOOR cats, indoor cats live much longer as they aren't exposed to as many unknown factors as they are when wandering outdoors.
I just lost my 2yr old cat named Sandy at first I thought it was poison as he had no appetite to eat but wanted to drink water he also vomit in several times he always hiding. I tried to feed him and gave him water but he just throw up everything. So, I decided to take him to the vet but it was too late as he was already at his last stage. The vet did everything to save him in the end he still suffered 😢 and died. If I only knew he had a kidney failure he shouldn't died too young. 😢💔
I view and read all these vet articles and videos regarding kidney disease in cats. I have spent a fortune going to so many vets trying to save my two cats lives who had kidney disease. Some vets have different advice others have the same advice. I followed all the advice where they say if you do this treatment plan you cat can live for years. If your a vet its probably true. But I do not believe the average person has the same success. And I have an animal rescue and am not the average person and still couldn't save their life. Cat one was four years old and started those weight. The vet made me believe he was experienced with kidney disease and wasn't. Quickly the cat went from moderate to advanced stage kidney disease. I switched vets but it was too late. I followed the new vets advice and too many complications set in and I had him euthanized. My three year old cat also had kidney disease and lived 7 months after the diagnosis. I'm having her put down today because as of yesterday she took an extreme turn fir the worst.. And then my 12 years old cat had digestive problems as a kitten and I resolved this with switching to a specialized cat food. And then one day his blue eye looled black and he didn't want to eat. I went to an ophthalmologist who diagnosed advanced stage cancer. And several vets later he died soon after. The problem with cancer and kidney disease is that it doesn't show up until its usually advanced. And then its usually too late. So, maybe a specialized vet can work miracles but I don't think a non vet can.
You may have vets like I have in my area. Be carefull and don't let them just only test what they believe is wrong with animals. I was losing alot of fur-iends and alot of kidney test and vet recommendations, until they misdiagnosed friends dog with old age and actually had lyne disease and disregarded owners request for lyme test until 3 months in and alot of worse symptoms for dog, and right after that I found out from another vet that I had bad flv and immunity problems with in dominant bloodline of my cats. The ones related to a specific mother always died of kidney problems but in ways that was exacerbated by flv and its genetic problems. After fixing that cat and vaccinating others and no more kittens from her , then my pack of cats were doing and growing better. Still have kidney problems but not till much later in life and per what video describes. They used to go with kidney disease at under a year old and little over year old when the had flv issue.
Conventional vet is disgusting tbh, Administration of Cheap Drug/ vaccine to make your cat kidney failed, Coupled with commercially available kibbles, easy money grab machine for them, when its finally kidney not working, Thats when the real money comes in ** Surgery **
I had this fancy vet once that argued with me that my cat had fiv. Two expensive tests later he was wrong. Although he saw some neoplasia cells, the cat actually only had a stomach ulcer which got fixed with a little bit of medication and a lot more attention. Few years later he died from a blood clot in his legs suddenly.
My Boy, Siamese, that's his name, is turning 20 years old and we are struggling a lot. He was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure. However, after the next blood test, the creatinine dropped to 2.9. Now we are grasping at straws. He's lost a lot of weight, but he eats and drinks every day.He also receives about 100ml of liquid every other day. It's important to say, if your cat doesn't want to eat renal food, give her whatever he wants. We use Pronefra every day - a phosphorus binder, and the vet is very surprised that he's still alive. The diagnosis came 6 months ago.
@@hinhankola Unfortunately, on June 7, 2024, he left behind the rainbow bridge. We fought until the very end, but then some severe pain started. We didn't want to allow him to die in agony. Even now, while I'm writing, tears are flowing. For twenty years, I had the most wonderful friend which I could have wished for and now he is gone...
my cat would always pee and vomit everywhere, but i never thought anything of it. he also was very skinny, something i thought he was just born with and he couldnt gain weight. he passed a week ago from anemia and kidney failure. i wish i put 2 and 2 together, i feel like i failed him. he was only 6
🥺 I am so sorry for your lost. May your fur baby sleep peacefully and watch over you from the rainbow bridge. I’ve experienced the same with my boy. He started using the bathroom on my work clothes, shoes, bed, and I figured it was because he was adjusting to having a new cat in the house. My rescue cat always wanted to sniff or engage with him but he always hissed or ran away and avoided using the box around him😢 He started losing so much weight and was 5 pounds when I took him to the vet. He was 10 years old. I started his treatment but within 2 weeks he lost his ability to walk and was confused and his eyes blurred. I feel so guilty everyday not taking it more serious. I feel like I failed him also. Love and light to you love. May we find peace. My rescue cat has sensed his presence is gone and looks for him around the house. It breaks my heart knowing all he wanted was to be his friend.
Blackjack is 4 years and 4 months old. He's at the vet now, second night there tonight. He's got extensive CKD, and I feel I've failed him too. Signs of excessive watering was deemed as normal, until the weight loss issue. He lost two pounds over the last 6-7 months, and the reason I took him in. They say maybe a coupe months to a couple years is realistic. He will likely be around that age when I either HAVE to make the call due to poor quality of life due to pain from intoxication, or I'm selfish and let him die naturally in pain. This is the hardest part of pet ownership. I feel the pain in both comments. I hope somehow it's turned out ok for you two so far. I wish I would have known more early on. This is the part of pet ownership that's a total drag. I feel like my heart is going to explode. Much love and luck to anyone here reading this in the same situation.
My 15 year old cat has this, diagnosed by the vet after blood work. She, my cqt, is my best friend and so I'm now feeding prescription food and putting a drug on it. She's doing well so far but I know she'll not outlive me.
I had a cat I got as a kitten that was only 6 years old when I had to have him put down for kidney failure. Only symptoms was lethargy & not eating. He would hide from me. Took him to a vet & she said there was nothing she could do.
In August I lost my two-year-old rescue cat we had no idea what was wrong with him he never went outside well until I rescued him he lived outside but he was very little so anyway he just got real sick 1 day literally quickly as you can Snap your fingers next thing I know he was dying he was fine then he was dying just like that I still don't know what happened I missed my cat so badly
Our cat is dying right now he's in end stage and idk I'm watching this video yo be better Informed he's 14 his name is Emrys we love him I don't think he has more than 7 days from today 😞
TAKE VIDEO’S!! I only have about 5 videos of my “12 year old kittens”. I look at them every day. I have the last picture I took of her, and just found out, if I push down on the picture, she moves. Holding my arm with her paw.
I think this is what was going on with my old cat. Drops of blood outside the liter box, missing the litter box, she was all spaced out, and not able to walk distance, getting up, laying in the hallway unable to walk. What gets me about it is yeah, she was old. No doubt. Extremely old, a "super senior" cat. 6 years older than the average cat and she has had issues the past 6 years, but she was never in horrible shape. She could jump up onto higher things, a chair, a bed, without a problem. She wasn't an old beat down cat. Healthy weight. The following is long... Something that bothers me and has been bothering me since last year. Fall time.yearly fire alarm check in the apartments. My brother and self in a 2 bedroom apartment with this cat. Who... If provoked by a stranger entering her apartment, she might try to attack. Which is why I like to be here, and by law notice needs to be given that it's happening and when so my brother or myself can be here to watch the cat. Our friend. Our family. They come in, check the alarm, and it has expiry date which says it needs to be changed. My reaction was literally "Ah f***.... So when is that happening?" I hate that. I know this complex is sort of "on" things and are excessively annoying, I hate everyone involved with management or workers here tbh. Move your car for the snow plow. We need to change the hot water heater, we need to do this. F*** right off... When? The kid says "I don't know, but not now, you'll get notice. Which is the law a d responsibility of the building super intendant. Who I normally get along with. Bev. She's alright, but it's technically her job to do these things. Letter under the door, we don't miss them. So, I know this is happening. I don't know when, but I'm waiting for my notice. Weeks go by. Me and my brother both get home after 5:00 ome day, a Thursday. We come home one night, and the cat is really messed up in the back end one side. Really badly. Her leg is collapsing. We were both shocked? What happened to her? Did she fall out of a window? Land wrong? What happened. I was looking at her, and it's never my first rodeo. At least 50% of people in existence on this planet are absolutely germ pieces of crap. I believe that whole heartedly. I expressed what I thought to my brother there is no way she is that messed up from a fall anywhere in here. That looks like she has been kicked. I told him about the fire detector, I told him how this kid came into the apartment, for that inspection, told me what he did, and while he was here, Lady (the cat) was actually irritated and trying to get to him. She sort of hissed and spit, I didn't kick Lady, I pushed her out of the way with my foot and this kid kind of snickered. He was 20 or 21. I did not make contact like a kick, I love my cat, this is not a nuisance but my point is, Lady was agitated by him being there and if I wasn't there, something would have went down. She has no claws though so she is harmless even super angry, and he also saw me do that. Thirdly, anyone who doesn't like cats, better get his a** out of my apartment. Go hang with your stupid dog, get out of my face. My brother' called me as paranoid on that, we didn't not get notice and insinuated that I was a paranoid idiot and I should go tell Bev (the super intendant) that and see what she says. Smart butty, like I'm crazy. So I lost it on him I can't prove it, so 😭 f course I am not going to go throw around accusations, I called him a straight up "a simple stupid idiot who can't think a little bit deeper and has too much naive faith in the good and competence of people, experience effing them the do what's right. Like Bev. Or the owners of this complex. We got into it bad. Of course I will not bring it up to Bev I have no proof, this is my suspicion. That is not a fall injury. So a week goes by. My brother decides to stay home from work that day. I'm at work, he texts me angry around noon "this stupid idiot and some girl just showed up here, walked right in and started working on the fire alarm while I was sleeping!?! WTF? I said to him "You see? I TOLD YOU! I FN TOLD YOU!" My brother being the slow simple naive man who would not speak up when he's right (not me) he is even angry in the moment and still did not even question these people about wtf? What are you doing here? Without notice OR if they by chance tried this a week prior? And failed, afraid of a little cat with no claws so you kicked her with those steel to boots you don't need to even be wearing here.... I came home from work, went downstairs to check the mail, saw Bev, and told her calmly but angrily 2 people walked into our apartment today without notice. Yes... We gave you notice. No you did not. You gave us a Halloween notice for candy you would hand out, no notice to enter the apartment. I've been watching for it. I knew it. I did not get one. Neil was home today. They walked in without notice. They didn't happen to try that last week did they? 😤 Thursday, because we came home to a severely injured cat. I told her straight up, I want notice every time you need to enter the apartment so someone can be here to control the cat. Every time. Next time I saw her, like I do often, she apologized and said he put it under the wrong door. I was just like "oh yeah?..." I don't care. I forgive you now, that's an excuse, ignorance is no excuse in the case of law, tell me who went into the apartment specifically and you are forgiven, otherwise, notice or next time you'll be sorry. I didn't say it or anything. It is not an excuse, if it happens again, I'm going to Anna, the owner and your butt is grass. Do your job because it is your job. You get rent to do it. Don't hand it to a moron to do your job. If I catch someone kicking my cat, we will kick him so hard in the kidneys, he'll need a bag for the rest of his life. My point is, the cat was old and she had some issues, she seemed to heal from that injury in a little over a week but did she heal? That could have triggered the end.
Yeah I had trouble like that at one apartment complex I lived at! I ended up changing the lock on my bedroom door bc nothing they ever needed to work on was on the other side of the bedroom door. I told the supervisors because you can’t guarantee me you won’t loose my cats! Sue me! They bothered me about other things but never that again. My neighbor put cameras inside his apartment and caught maintenance workers stealing!
The town I live in changed its water supply. The water makes all of us sick, so we bring in outside water, for everyone including the pets. What I didn’t know, was that even with the water to the basement bathroom shut off, water dripped in the shower. My 12 year old “kitten”, would go in there. I thought she was looking for mice. After a couple of months, she started losing weight and throwing up. We thought it was from hairballs. After 3-4 months, we realized it was something worse as she was losing weight. She has a sister cat. Neither one has ever been out of the house, except in a carrier on the way to the vet. Her sister cat is fine. The puppy is fine. My car passed away after 2 weeks of vet services and a lot of money! (But we had to try)
After years of research, trying to holistically help my kitty with the starting of CKD, I now believe that kidney failure/CKD, is primarily caused from feeding them kibbles (including dogs) and getting vaccines, which there seems to be more of every year. Cats organs simply cannot process either of these well, especially the kidneys and liver, leaving their internal toxins trying to deal with them. CKD is at an all time high in both cats and dogs due to this taking our pets away at much earlier ages. Of course, there are other factors that can cause this, but overall, it the ones above. It's best to make them homemade food using quality recipes that include all of the nutrients they need. For my kitty, I switched her diet to all high-quality canned wet food, which she did well on for over 2 yrs. However, currently she isn't and I've been scrambling to figure out what to feed her as she will not eat at all. I did find very helpful information and recipes on a couple of holistic vet sites. Not sure if it's too late or not, time will tell. My heart in sharing this story is to inform other pet owners of how to first prevent CKD in the beloved pets.
Back in Oct of 2018, my cat, Sassy, who was 12 years old, had lost weight. I didn't really notice the weight loss until one night when I was sitting on my wing chair. I looked down on my lap and she was sound asleep. I didn't even feel her jump on me, so I had no idea how long she had been there. Also, Sassy was cold all of the time and would be curled up on her fleece blanket or she would lay on me, because of my body heat. The other thing is that she threw up what I thought was a hairball, but it was a dark, olive green color. She lost interest in food and water and wanted to sleep all the time. I hope this helps.
I'm here searching for help for my cat with the same symptoms, but the irony is we don't have a veterinary hospital in my place, so I'm trying to self treat my cat who is only 6 months old, searching for holistic medicine and also trying to get the medicine through Amazon, because there's no one to test the stage of the disease or the cause of the symptoms. It's hard to take care of animals in such a place, happened to me many times, also lost them before 💔 My kitty is vomiting and not eating since yesterday, and she is so stubborn she spits out anything I force feed her. I wish she recovers fully. When I read the comments about other cats living upto 18, 20 years, makes me sad, to loose a pet that spent so many years with you is heartbreaking 💔 😢 The longest my cats have lived was 2.5 years, and I'm always heartbroken when I loose them. I don't want to go through that again. Please pray for my kitty. 🙏
My cat now 20 started throwing up cat food. Took her in at age 17 with kidney disease. The kd food added a few yrs to life. She got FIC which is very severe. I'm gonna have her go to heaven because she's in a lot of pain with inflamed bladder.
I wish I made more money so I could afford the treatments for my fluffpuff months ago. Now I have to wait until pay day to take her in and she's in so much distress, it's destroying me. Pray for her please 🙏
My Alley too, she is open mouth breathing a lot now and I don't know what to do for her. I'm crying. I don't have the money for CKD treatments either. I will pray for your Fluffpuff too.
@@stevenm385 Steve , even if you could afford the vet visits and treatments , trust me bud.. your baby would have hated it. I've been there and spend 3k and my baby only lasted an extra month. The vet will pump you up with hope of trying new things to keep her alive , but the reality is.. there is no reversing this disease , it just gets worse.. And vets that give people hope when the cat is in its later stages of this disease are wrong for doing so. They know the cat wont have long to live , they should be telling the owners " you have a month or two tops , but the cat is going to be very stressed during those times.. Are you sure you want your cat to suffer just so you can keep it around longer ? " .. but they don't ask you that. Because that's one month of practice training for their new techs , and one month of profit that could be made. 1.6 million pets are euthanized each year , your baby was lucky to have crossed paths with you to live that great long life.
@@nuttybar9 I used apple cider vinegar with the mothers (unfiltered) one part a.c. v. to four parts water about 3 to 5 ml for a few days and my make four year old cat felt better. I did take him to vet a month later because he got into a fight with a stray cat and he was sick...vet diagnosed him with fiv...but also gave him an antibiotic shot in case of bacteria ...he ended up having a uti...so shot helped plus worms...so now have him o revolution plus for three treatments (3 months) then back to vet...
We lost our most beloved cat, Buddy, to kidney failure a month ago. We had no idea - he had a dental and the required senior panel last December '23. Everything was perfect. He stared to look off so in he went to see his Vet. Another senior panel showed his kidneys were in failure, and our vet stated the conversation with ... "Well, he's dying". Not what you want to hear. I'm still a bit unhappy with her delivery. We tried everything short of torturous treatment, and in two weeks Buddy bolted out the door and disappeared. His mother Kewpie, who never leaves the breezeway, also vanished. I search all day. Nothing. Around 5PM Kewpie shows up and sits right in front of me. She then turned and walked toward our neighbor's yard - where I had looked several times - and our neighbor said, "I just saw them both go under this fence". And there was Buddy, just gone. Kewpie stayed with him until he died, and then got me. Like cherylbrown, I had a bond with Buddy that I never had with my other cats, who are all well-loved. This one hurt, and will never stop. Reply
My cat is 10 years old, the past month she’s been refusing to eat and has isolating herself and will only drink water. Recently she’s starting to get yellowish fur around her ears and eyes, we got medication for her but I see no progress. She’s losing plenty of hair and is beginning to look underweight. I really hope it’s not too late 😕
My 2 year old Cat died from what we suspect was Kidney Failure. We are not sure. It happened so fast, she started vomiting on a Friday night, which was odd for her. I figured she wasn't feeling well and let her sleep in the bathroom. The following day she had vomited more and it was pinkish, had diarrhea, and would only take water through a straw. She passed on the way to the Vet. It's been an awful time for me and my Mom...
My cat is two years old now.. but he's in so much pain and was diagnosed with kidney problem, 6 months ago he had this yellowish skin/fur, we had treatment and the he became fine. but in nov6. he became sick again, but i tried to use the same medications and in nov. 8 he became fine again. but now, nov 21, he's in so much pain, and lethargic, also he does not want to eat anymore.
They hide end of story. If you have a cat that is part siamese then pay attention to them forever. One of my first cats was part Siamese, she suffered from total kidney failure 3 years later. I then had another dumped on me, and I do mean that, but she became part of my furmaly. After 10 years I thought we had missed out on that genetic defect. Boy was I wrong though by that time after discussions as part of my vets pet owned discussion groups when I called for an appointment when I said it was her time I was told to get the the surgery and I will be seen by the next available vet after arriving.
Was a decent video until the last sentence. Prevention is not impossible. Many times kidney failure and cats can be prevented. If they are fed either a raw or canned diet. Their whole lives. No dry kibble. That will go a long ways to prevent mini cats from getting kidney failure. And for god sake, if your cat does have kidney failure, change their diet away from that kibble as quickly as possible.
Our 2 year old cat just died from this- or at least that's what our vet said. We dropped him off for boarding while we went on a 5 day vacation. He was perfectly healthy when we dropped him off: no signs of lethargy, no changes in diet or water intake, no vomiting/diarrhea.. literally nothing we physically saw in him that denoted him being unhealthy. The vet mentioned he died from Urethral Obstruction that caused the kidney failure but I know he urinated at our home because I clean his litter box daily. The only problem with everything is we cant disprove what our vet is saying, that he used the bathroom during boarding and it came as a shock to even their trained eye. Does this even sound right?
You should have taken your cat’s body to another vet for a necropsy to determine exactly why your cat died. If your cat died as a result of malpractice, you should at least know about it.
Im sorry to hear that Jason. .Honestly man , it's hard to find a vet that isn't a money grab or a place of practice for new techs to learn their practices. It has to be very random and unlucky that your cat happens to pass away during the time of his boarding. I would also think something happened .. what can we do , that's the risk we take when trusting others with our pets.
my son boarded his cat and brought it home. it became ill. also fur was gone from its leg. now has fever and vet want to hospitalize it. then says hope it make it over the week-end. these people are evil these days. money hungry don't care. THESE ARE GODS ANIMALS . THEY WILL ALL ANSWER TO HIM IN THE END.
We lost a 9 year old cat to kidney disease 😢😢😢. We found out about it too late, he was already in stage 4 at that point 😢. One of our other (13 year old) cat recently got diagnosed with stage 1 of CKD.
How is it going? Switch to all wet food, Royal Canin best results. 3 flavor combos/textures. Stop feeding treats other than cat nip. Get on a high quality vet prescribed pre and probiotic! If they don’t know, let me know and I’ll send you a picture. Get his teeth cleaned or de-scaled regularly! Lots of fresh water out.
Why don't you cover the topic of cheep grain based cat foods and burnt cereals that is used to make dehydrating kibbles.. Cats can't process corn and gluten. The money we save today with non meat cat foods will be taken from us by veterinarians when our cats get sick. Grains will also ruin cats teeth by the time they are 6 yrs old. The most advertised brands of pet foods are the most toxic.
What do you recommend to give them? Please help as I am desperate my cat is 19 and not doing well out of nowhere today. I don’t want to keep giving her crap that’s just hurting her
@@timrockman7 thank you 😔 unfortunately she passed away on March 11 😢 it turns out she had a stroke. I got her when I was 10 years old and I’m 29 now, so she was a huge part of my life. I never knew it would hurt this bad . I miss her so much :(
Currently going through this and I don’t know what to do he isn’t eating and is so thin the vet refuses to put him to sleep and I’m lost for words they say he might get better but I can see it in my babies eyes he isn’t going to recover 💔💔💔💔💔💔
How is she doing? If she is still around try putting her on a low phosphate food and you can even add a phosphate binder. Sadly i did this at the very end and it didnt help my cat because she was too far gone. I heard it can help
I just took my cat to the vet and they said they are nervous because of how young she is but, she is at stage 2. She is 4, she throws up a lot but, for the past week nothing… is this good or bad? I saw on google (I hate looking at google because it’s all fake but, I’m nervous) it says she has about a year… is this true? I’m just really hurt and scared for her
Can you get him radio iodine therapy? My 16 year old had a bad reaction to a month of being on transdermal methimazole so getting him the radio iodine therapy. Look it up, your cat is worth it.
sir my kitten is 9 months old and her creatinine level is 9 please tell me what i can do this is very strange case she’s still eating a bit and drinking water
Cat meows all day and middle of night. Drools and pees a lot not always using the litter box. Her coat is unkempt and dingy. Think she has kidney disease. She is a 12 year old Himalayan.
1 cup epsom salt 1 cup baking soda (optional) 1 pinch 20 mule borax - Fill kitchen sink w water, preferably **filtered** water (think brita water instead of tap) - Use a thermometer to heat water to 100 degrees (humans are 98*) - Soak your cat for 5-30 mins, as often as you are comfortable, but prlly no more than 3x/day. When my cat was super sick, I bathed him once a day. Now that he is stable I only do it once a week. Epsom salt baths deliver magnesium through the skin. They are amazing for humans, cats, and dogs bc we are all deficient in magnesium. Your cat will not enjoy being put in the water, but once their tummy is submerged, they tend to mellow out due to the influx of magnesium. My cat cries for 30 seconds and then he is totally zen. No need to rinse your cat afterwards, but you can if you wish. My cat was too elderly to lick himself dry afterwards, so I used a quiet blow dryer on gentle. But healthier, more mobile cats will prefer you to leave them alone while they lick themselves dry with their special saliva. It sounds batshit crazy, I know. I was skeptical, too. But I was desperate enough to try anything to save my cat's life, and it actually worked! He is still with me today, age 16. I'm confident that these baths bought us more time together. I hope this helps someone.
My peaka seems to have many seizures as she lays in my arms. She jumps suddenly as it a bug got her then looks at me with sad eyes. Her right side is big like a base ball. I don't know how to handle this our love is so deep. How do I know it's the end then what do we do. Iam so sad. I am living at my sons. So we just are both here.
I’m sorry about your loss. I think I am losing my best friend right now, after several years of treatment. I lost another cat to kidney failure, and it was very sudden. Don’t ever feel bad…if can often be too late, by the time we find out. The lives of our furry friends are just too short.
Terrible quality DRY food, no upkeep with their teeth, no regular checkups with blood work including blood pressure and thyroid panels. Sometimes even from failing to thrive from being ignored.
Im crying 😭😭😭
I am sorry for your awful pain but your cat needs you to be with them and comfort them as long as practically possible.
Im so sorry..
Woman with 10 year old son denied kidney transplant cause unvaccinated shes a human being she is so good there not helping her washington state seattle transplant centre 🖤💉🖤☀️
My girl died of kidney disease at 13 a couple days ago. Despite all the medical treatments.. i miss her.
İ cried so much while watching this video... This is all the symptoms which my cat has 😭😭💔
Please pray that my cat heal fast
What happened
Is your cat doing good? Please respond
imo , do not let the vet have you do at home hydration and force feeding , etc..
@@reza_dc2 I think subcutaneous fluids from the vet might have made my cat worse. Is that what you experienced?
Many Blessings All 🙏🇺🇸
All of my elderly cats were vet checked twice per year, the oldest living to be 25. I have often teased my Vet that I helped by him his boat.

My cat too still ate but was suffering from severe mouth ulcers and also was drinking and peeing a lot. i am orry for your loss.
Mine too has mouth ulcers might have to put him to sleep very old 18
Drinking and peeing a lot too
I’m so sorry my 15 year old Siamese has stage 1 the vet said 1 month ago. What did you get your cat to eat. Mine is very picky but now the last 3 days has become really lethargic and also urinating everywhere now never done that before any suggestions? I also hate to put him down but don’t want to suffer either
We lost are boy Chico Marks 6 months ago, at ten years old from kidney failure. I know now he is in a better place and no longers is suffering.
Were u doing the fluids everyday?

Trust me bud , having her cross that bridge at home is way better than at the vet. People that take thier babys to the vet are making a mistake imo.

This year i took my cat 10 years old to the vet because she lost apetite.
So sorry for your loss.

Yup and it usually goes hand in hand with kidney problems in cats. It can even mask them. Sorry for your loss.
Oh my gif really my 17yr old cat has the start of hyperthyroidism and to put the compound medicine on her ear I wouldn’t see her for days
Was detected when she had a blood test as she was urinating outside her box however vet gave her UTI antibiotic by needle everything seemed ok she always ate and drank too
Then Friday I noticed she vomited but she was not eating as she would
Saturday I notice urinating outside the box again and not eating at all
Then Sunday I see urine on the floor and red obviously blood in this jelly like can’t describe it..
Washed out her litter mopped up and continues clean up another 2 times
I also noticed she be hesitant to go into her hidden box
Took it out and it’s soaked with urine my concern was not eating as he loved her food
Today Monday took her to the vet
Scales dropped 1.5kg since at vet last last in june she has high tempreture I noticed she is lethargic
The vet put her in a drip immediately is running bloods and urine test and is keeping her in at minimum 2 days
The vet looked worried and said I should of brought her in earlier
I feel guilty I love my baby
17yrs been my rock
I did ask the vet and told her after starting this compound medication about the distance she wouldn’t come next to me she told me to stop it I asked her will it kill her she said no it won’t
She also said it was the onset of it very low in blood all
I feel so guilty she said temp is due ti infection
But how she is inside
But I know something is wrong
I can’t loose her
Are these the signs

My family just lost our baby boy to Kidney failure yesterday.
He was nearly 1 and a half years old, he’d been seriously sick with a different disease not long after we got him.. I don’t remember the name of the sickness, but it was horrible.
We had to resort to getting a Blackmarket medicine (that had already saved the lives of many Cats outside the US) the vet couldn’t do anything for him.
if we hadn’t gotten the medicine he would’ve died then…
We hoped it’d be the last serious health scare for him.. but we ended up losing him anyway…
I just hope we’ll be able to catch the signs in time, so don’t lose our other kitties.
Can you share the medicine?
Can you share the medicine name?
Three weeks ago I put my cat down after 9 years. He went down in a day. Tuesday night he was fine. Wednesday he was weak and Thursday he was lethargic. He had mouth ulcers and the vet said put him down. He was between stage 3 and 4
We put down our 4 year old kitty today. According to the testing she was in stage 3 but showing end stage signs. The vets didn't have much confidence that even with at least 4 days of in hospital treatment. that we couldn't afford even with insurance, she would survive. It's been a very painful day.
I'm so sorry, my 5 year old also got CKD. Way too young it's mind boggling, I'm doing everything I can but it's scary. Take care of yourself ❤️
You guys tried.. Four days on vet work is hard on this gentle little being. God called on her to help bring people joy in heaven.
Same story for our 7 year old tabby. The Vet was great but came to the conclusion that even with hospitalization, bringing him back to baseline was a very slim chance. It was so far in at this point that we had to put him down.
Another symptom is Dilated Eyes. My cat also had Nystagmus (eye twitching) in the final stages. As well as drooling.
Mine too, I knew by her eyes that she was going, she fought for a long time.
Thank you for this comprehensive and informative video❤

I just lost my cat Pulgas today due to kidney failure…. 😢 may you rest in peace pulgas i am so broken hearted 💔

How is it going?

My Pete stopped eating and drinking a week before he died. I'm still not used to living without him. Thirteen years flew by so fast.
It's hard to take care of animals in such a place, happened to me many times, also lost them before 💔
My kitty is vomiting and not eating since yesterday, and she is so stubborn she spits out anything I force feed her. I wish she recovers fully. When I read the comments about other cats living upto 18, 20 years, makes me sad, to loose a pet that spent so many years with you is heartbreaking 💔 😢
The longest my cats have lived was 2.5 years, and I'm always heartbroken when I loose them.
So what happened?
I came here because my cat stop eating.! I'm crying so much 😭
All these symptoms my cat has ..
I love my Franky Boy!! I'm crying so much 😭
Thank you for this info.
After this, I never want another cat or any other animal. 14 years of my best friend, support animal. I will be crying a very long time.😢😢😢
I wish I made more money so I could afford the treatments for my fluffpuff months ago.
Try using Apple cider vinegar,It supposedly is good for cats .
@@nuttybar9 she passed unfortunately.
@@stevenm385
Steve , even if you could afford the vet visits and treatments , trust me bud.. your baby would have hated it.
We had no idea - he had a dental and the required senior panel
last December '23. Everything was perfect. He stared to look off so in he went to see his Vet. Another senior panel showed his
kidneys were in failure, and our vet stated the conversation with ... "Well, he's dying". Not what you want to hear. I'm still a bit unhappy
with her delivery. We tried everything short of torturous treatment, and in two weeks Buddy bolted out the door and disappeared.
His mother Kewpie, who never leaves the breezeway, also vanished. I search all day. Nothing. Around 5PM Kewpie shows up and sits
right in front of me.

I wonder if commercial dry food causes kidney problems in cats?
Short answer… yes.
yes they;re the worst
Yes
My darling girl,...Oreo ,passed away from kidney & liver failure in 5days! She was only 7yrs old! 💔😢😢😢😢
I hope things have turned around..
Have you checked for FIP? Please get it checked - dry or wet, if fluid has developed anywhere in body.
What happened?
Hanging head in water bowl. 😥
I am so sorry your family went through that 😢❤.
Probably acute kidney failure with something she ate.
I’m sorry 💔
My cat is two years old now.. but he's in so much pain and was diagnosed with kidney problem, 6 months ago he had this yellowish skin/fur, we had treatment and the he became fine. but in nov6. he became sick again, but i tried to use the same medications and in nov. 8 he became fine again. but now, nov 21, he's in so much pain, and lethargic, also he does not want to eat anymore.
Same happened with me my cat is nomore
I’m so sorry! Sounds acute! Did he get into something?
They hide end of story. If you have a cat that is part siamese then pay attention to them forever. One of my first cats was part Siamese, she suffered from total kidney failure 3 years later. I then had another dumped on me, and I do mean that, but she became part of my furmaly. After 10 years I thought we had missed out on that genetic defect. Boy was I wrong though by that time after discussions as part of my vets pet owned discussion groups when I called for an appointment when I said it was her time I was told to get the the surgery and I will be seen by the next available vet after arriving.
Is there any data to say whether domestic cats have higher incidents of kidney disease? Compared to that of wild and feral species? Thank you.
I know ferals typically don't live as long as indoor cats.
My cat is 3 years and he has all the symptoms of kidney failure... can't stop crying
I’m sorry! Stop feeding dry food! Get a holistic vet to help you with a plan to help, but can’t cure plan!
Is he fine now
Will have to put my rhyme down to this disease ,it'll be a depressing Christmas
If your cat died as a result of malpractice, you should at least know about it.
hmmmmm
Sounds like they did something to your baby! 2 year old cats dying of kidney failure sounds suspicious to me!
Pet Wellbeing Kidney Support Gold works wonders on cats with kidney issues.
Never even heard of this!
At what stage of ckd is your cat?
I don’t want to keep giving her crap that’s just hurting her
@@claudiamarianidamato9499 If she is 19, you must have done a lot of the right things for her.
@@timrockman7 thank you 😔 unfortunately she passed away on March 11 😢 it turns out she had a stroke. I got her when I was 10 years old and I’m 29 now, so she was a huge part of my life. I never knew it would hurt this bad . I miss her so much :(
Always does… I have had two 19 year olds, one 20 year old and I just lost a 22 year old. I currently have a 17 year old.
NO DRY FOOD!
Currently going through this and I don’t know what to do he isn’t eating and is so thin the vet refuses to put him to sleep and I’m lost for words they say he might get better but I can see it in my babies eyes he isn’t going to recover 💔💔💔💔💔💔
Can they give him something to stimulate his appetite.
Whaaaaat? Then they should have helped you with some suggestions! What happened?
My buddy Panther (currently 11 years old) was just diagnosed with it and was informed that she has less than a year to live..
How is she doing? If she is still around try putting her on a low phosphate food and you can even add a phosphate binder. Sadly i did this at the very end and it didnt help my cat because she was too far gone. I heard it can help
So what are foods that are bad and good for kidneys health?
How do you handle it. What do we do. How will I know she has suffered enough. She upside ways down. Lays around.
My cats only got this when they got old like 18 and up
I just took my cat to the vet and they said they are nervous because of how young she is but, she is at stage 2. She is 4, she throws up a lot but, for the past week nothing… is this good or bad? I saw on google (I hate looking at google because it’s all fake but, I’m nervous) it says she has about a year… is this true? I’m just really hurt and scared for her
Is she fine buddy
Cat has kidney failure from hyperthyroidism. He's on medication to treat the thyroid but the medication is destroying his kidneys.
Same happened to my Alley. We love them so much it hurts when they're not feeling well.
I’m so sorry. My baby is in the hospital now for the same reason. It’s so hard.
Can you get him radio iodine therapy? My 16 year old had a bad reaction to a month of being on transdermal methimazole so getting him the radio iodine therapy. Look it up, your cat is worth it.
Now they can do a quick surgery to take care of that vs those nasty pills. It’s a one time bit bigger bill but….
sir my kitten is 9 months old and her creatinine level is 9 please tell me what i can do this is very strange case she’s still eating a bit and drinking water
Our cat died today I'm so heartbroken he got crystal buildup he was only 7 or 8 years old
What happened?
My cat is 17 years old with a failing kidney, can she live till 20 years old?
Yes
My dog passed away last than 3 weeks ago
I just lost my 16 year old cat to renal failure.
Cat meows all day and middle of night. Drools and pees a lot not always using the litter box. Her coat is unkempt and dingy. Think she has kidney disease. She is a 12 year old Himalayan.
1 cup epsom salt
1 cup baking soda
(optional) 1 pinch 20 mule borax
- Fill kitchen sink w water, preferably **filtered** water (think brita water instead of tap)
- Use a thermometer to heat water to 100 degrees (humans are 98*)
- Soak your cat for 5-30 mins, as often as you are comfortable, but prlly no more than 3x/day.
After his 1st bath, my cat stopped late night howling. It was incredible.
my poor cat, Panda, seems to have this.
What happened?
Go for homemade diet for cat
Makes me wonder what's wrong with all those 'veternary' diets?
It sucks I have bin there j😢

Terrible quality DRY food, no upkeep with their teeth, no regular checkups with blood work including blood pressure and thyroid panels. Sometimes even from failing to thrive from being ignored.
