Ninja Nerds!
In this lecture Professor Kristin Beach, MSN, BSN, RN will be discussing Acute Kidney Injury (AKI). AKI, previously called acute renal failure (ARF), denotes a sudden and often reversible reduction in kidney function, as measured by glomerular filtration rate (GFR).Although, immediately after a renal insult, blood urea nitrogen (BUN) or creatinine levels may be within the normal range. The only sign of acute kidney injury may be a decline in urine output. AKI can lead to the accumulation of water, sodium, and other metabolic products. It can also result in several electrolyte disturbances. It is a very common condition, especially among hospitalized patients. We hope you enjoy this lecture and be sure to support us below!

That's why it's important to listen to your body.
Hi- could you clarify the Oliguric phase between 1-3 day or 1-3 weeks as its listed differently in the notes vs. the video. Thank you so much! I love this channel!
Great
Wow , you are amazing.
Thanks for saying that! Just trying my best here!
For renal issues, low urine output mean high potassium because kidneys not excreting it and low sodium because body is retaining fluid. But after diuretics kidneys excrete the potassium so low potassium but high sodium because patient is dry from diuretics
Hey thanks a lot! New nurse here this was a great refresher on content.
