I've used Rufus quite a few times, great bit of kit, first used it to install Windows 11 on a machine that wasn't supposed to be able to run it, ran perfectly, evenin Moike ;)
to be honest i rarely use anything other than the stock windows installer, but i know there are lots of viewers that like to customise their installs, and here we are
These features from Rufus are incredibly handy so efficient for pc building! Great piece of software, solves so many issues. I run the debloat script after a new install and PC is ready to go!
What a great idea! Wish i had this couple weeks back when setting up my itx pc. I had the wrong win11 exe file on my usb. Forgot to download the actual installer like a dope! Thanks Mike & Kath for tutorial so I can make a usb for updating kids pcs 👍🐈
Nice to see a video on this, I use Balena etcher or Rufus depending on how I feel at the moment. I have Win 10, Win 11, Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon desktop on USB. I like to keep all three handy. Plus Magicat. Oh and Bitlocker is annoying if you need to recover data, etc on a customer's computer.
Great job. Rufus is a great utility. Love how they added the new features to it over the years. I am not happy that Amazon calls their AI function... Rufus
Thanks, Mike. Will any future Win 11 updates wipe out the preferences we configure with Rufus? I'm worried about getting slammed by bitlocker in future updates.
thank you, had no idea that this was available, is it free or is there a charge ? apart from the license key which i now know is £3, again many thanks👍

Nothing but BSDO's with the latest version of Windows 11. PC would stay on for a max of 10 minutes before crashing. Brought new ram and still crashed constantly. Re-installed Windows 11 numerous times and still would crash. Finally installed Windows 10 yesterday and system has not had a single crash and is running like a dream. Never had an issue with Windows 11 from the original beta but the latest release 24H2 just wont play ball for me
@@mikesunboxing That was my thinking and put it down to a ram issue. New ram installed and still the same results. Switched NVME drive and same results.. My machine had been running perfectly fine until I upgraded to 24H2 and then nothing but issues. Something isn't playing ball with my machine in the 24H2 release
I’ve been flipping PC’s around 6 months now and always do a Rufus local account install, sold maybe 40+ PC’s and the local account is something my customers rave about they love it. The Microsoft account is useless and annoying and is just Microsoft collecting data.
Good comprehensive instructions, clear to understand and follow.Thank you for sharing this video with us Mike and Kath 👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good video for those who aren’t aware of this process Mike. Keep up the good work mate.
Thanks, will do!
Always been a fan of Rufus, absolutely perfect for this kind of thing 🙂
Thank you Mike and Kath, just made one. Now all I need is my new yet to be built PC.
I will order the parts for that next week, can't wait😀
that is a great feeling when you have parts coming

i don't like AI, until it makes the perfect cup of tea anyway
@@mikesunboxing I think that AI tea might taste a little artificial. No substance....🤔
@philstodd yeah too clinical
Do we still need to activate windows and pay for it? Thanx for a great video. Greetings from Sweden.
yes but that is only 3 euros from our link in the video description
Very nice and easy for people who need it.
Thanks MUB HQ for the How To 😀
thanks mr B

no it shouldn't but microsoft have been known to drop the ball sometimes, so i would say unlikely but not impossible
thank you, had no idea that this was available, is it free or is there a charge ? apart from the license key which i now know is £3,
again many thanks👍
totally free!
Nice this is what i need
Rufus is a great little tool.
yeah it worked well
Having BSOD while installing. issue type memory management

The language on my PC is English (United Kingdom). This is not on the Windows 11 list. Will using Windows International cause any problems?
no that should be fine, you should be able to change the localisation settings afterwards if needed
@@mikesunboxing Thanks for that.
what happens if you check the user name but leave it blank. will rufus ask for a name or just ignore it totally
not sure to be honest, it will likely just have no username or not continue
Would I need a key for the in place upgrade?
If you already have a genuine key for Windows 10 or 11 then it is tied to your MB so the answer is no.
@@markroberts7093 Cool, it's a windows 8 laptop [now win10]. Sorry but now I have more questions, I will first Google. I'll be back...

that is really weird, i would say it was a harware issue, but it windows 10 works, it can't be

I did that an my PC will not boot from RUFUS ? WHATS WRONG ?
not sure is secure boot enabled in the bios?
@@mikesunboxing THERES no way i see to get to secure boot in my BIOS ?
You have to disable csm, reboot the pc and get back into the bios then enable secure boot. It has to be rebooted so the new settings take effect.
will this bypass unsupported cpu?
there is an option for that
Thanks Mike... I made one of those. Thanks for sharing. Cheers
cheers rick, snowing here now in the UK

Every Windows problem has a fix. there is no need to use linux again.
