This Hayduke episode was intense! 🏜 The turquoise blue of the Little Colorado River looks amazing, but dealing with that 113-degree heat and rough trails must have been tough. It’s inspiring to see you push through the challenges and capture the remote beauty of the Grand Canyon. Thanks for sharing this epic journey ! 🌄💪
The turquoise blue was amazing. We were lucky to see it. Someone told us the Little Colorado is usually brown and silty. We’re glad you enjoyed! The Grand Canyon is a very inspiring (and hot!) place. It’s hard to capture it all. Thanks for watching 🙏
I'm so enjoying your journey; thank you so much for sharing. The GC is stunning in so many ways. I still feel for DA and her achilles - amazing that you can keep on keepin' on.
I’m so glad we stumbled on your channel and have been following your Hayduke adventure. We gave you a ride from Hole in the Rock Road to Escalante Outfitters for their yummy pizza.
Hi! Thank you so much for saving us on the side of the road. It was such a relief when you stopped! It was fun talking to you guys after the long bumpy ride. We hope you had a great trip in Utah :)
I've really enjoyed watching your Hayduke videos! I'm sure it's a lot of work filming while also managing the challenges of the hike. Thanks for sharing!
That's so nice, we appreciate it :) It definitely takes a lot of time to go through all the footage and edit everything. But it's fun to kinda relive the hike through the process and we're always excited to share. Thanks for watching!
Hey guys, great vid! It was quite the adventure 'down there', great to see it again and reminisce. Happy you could salvage some of Uncle Don, I'll share it with him. Cheers! TC
Hey TC thanks! Hanging out with you guys was the best part. We always thought it was funny when Don would say “ten more miles?” after you guys ate dinner. Thanks for keep us sane with cherry pop tarts down there lol
Thank you for quoting ABBEY! Don't agree with everything he ever wrote or said but still one of my favorite authors. I truly appreciate it. And this 70 plus year old guy thanks you too for mentioning Uncle Don.
Absolutely, we like his quote about wilderness being a necessity. It feels very true to us. Uncle Don was probably the most inspiring thing on the whole hayduke haha. We’re glad you enjoyed it :)
What a great video, the views are amazing, great narration style, and cool music. The only thing I wish improved is Dirty's achilles; I hope you get to the end without too much suffering.
Thanks so much, we’re glad you enjoyed it :) the achillies was very frustrating, but some new shoes and a heel insert helped. I couldn’t stop so close to the end haha!
Great video! Such beauty! You mentioned Edward Abbey, can you imagine all this in the 50’s? About the achilles heel, have you tried different shoes? That worked for me. Looking forward to next episode!
Thanks! It’s hard to imagine the canyon in 1950, or 1850, or 1050 haha. So much has changed yet so much remains. The book “The Emerald Mile” does a great job at explains how the canyon was formed. I bought different shoes in Kanab (and a heal insert) and that helped. Thanks for watching 🙏
Absolutely love following y'all! (actually found you because you also adventure in a Honda Pilot.) I got a huge smile out of the waterfall shot on May 22nd as it was so beautiful, and that's my bday. Can't wait for the next installment!
A fellow Honda adventurer! That’s awesome. Where do you like to travel to in the Pilot? The waterfalls were incredible. It was the perfect way to cool down in the heat. We’re glad you enjoyed :)
@dirtyjarhikes we just got back into adventuring this past summer when we did a cross-country drive with our 3 kids, and we're back to camping (we have a Honda tent for the pilot) with our younger two (9 & 16). We're planning a north western route for summer 2025 to hit Olympic, Glacier, Grand Tetons and the Badlands. We all just watched your Hayduke series together, and now our daughter wants to do it as a family adventure lol.
@holidayroad5 wow that’s amazing! La Push in Olympic NP is a great place to see the ocean. You can’t go wrong anywhere in glacier too. There’s a lot of beautiful and remote car camping in Utah, specifically near Hanksville or Escalante. The night sky and stars are crystal clear. Your daughters are lucky to see such wonderful places across the country! We support all their hiking aspirations!
@dirtyjarhikes thanks so much for thr heads-up! Oh, we're also going to hit Arches and we really want to make it to Zion, but mainly for the subway and we think it might be too technical for our 9 year old (he's an adventurer, but I read that hike can be rough in spots.) Have you been to Great Basin NP? If so, is it worth a couple day stop?
Thanks for watching :) what do you like about the Grand Canyon?

Great video. Just wanted to say that keeping the food quality higher long term, helps prevent injury and helps us heal. Wishing you the best
That’s great advice. Healthy living definitely helps in so many aspects of life. Thanks for watching :)

Hey Avo, Jar, TC, UD, Jup, Sprock, Hil.... it WAS a great adventure, even for me and my trusty Subie! Thanks!
@susanferguson5622 Pika! You definitely had an adventure on all those dirt roads haha. Your subie was always a beautiful sight. We appreciate you ❤️
Finally, someone mentions the color of the Little Colorado. Good stuff, y'all.
The color was amazing. We read the Little Colorado is often silty and brown so we felt very lucky to see it turquoise.
