Well I'm studying Chinese and am not learning the radicals first as is very boring. I've gone straight into learning. Structured by first learning the alphabet and the tones, then understanding the reason for radicals and there are 214 (or so) and how they can help but not learning them. I've started also learning the Pin Yin and how to say the word or sentence with the tones. I then learn the Hanzi 汉字 (Chinese character) by trying to remember the different components and also by writing it down many times. The next time this helps me to recognise the Chinese characters (汉字). I am however, learning why the use of certain characters over another character when the meaning is the same by consulting the radicals which give explanation as to why one is used over the other when the meaning is the same. An example of this is 认识 (rèn shi) vs 知道 (zhī dao) they both mean "know". Therefore, when is it appropriate to use one over the other - vice versa. Well, it was very well explained via various website googled. I now know to use 认识 (rèn shi) when you know that person or am familiar with that person. 知道 (zhī dao) on the other hand is when you know of that person but you don't actually know him - for example, a character on TV or someone in the office that you see but don't know them. So I feel you don't have to laboriously learn all the radicals first as it could make you give up before you even start. However, it's nice to know about the radicals and their benefits and use them when necessary for explanations backed up with examples of sentences and extended explanations with it. I do intend to learn the radicals but I need to do it this way otherwise, it can be boring. I also look/listen to Chinese videos to see if my ear is developing for understanding and picking out words that I've learnt and whether I can get the gist of what is going on. I guess if it works for you then that's good.

Ive been trying many different tradegies, and trying to find the best way to start learning chinese. For some people reading is important, for others listening and others speaking. I've realized that my priority is reading and one day I noticed that some characters kept showing up inside others and usually had the same meaning. Ive been trying so many things that I didn't realize they were radicals. Once i realized they were called radicals I was able to find more resources. And as soon as i found your video and read the intro I knew I found where I needed to start instead if HSK 1. Your videos are the motivation I need to learn the radicals and then maybe Ill learn how to pronounce pinyin and start HSK 1.
Absolutely wonderful I have been learning and can say this beautiful language but I want to be able to write these amazing and interesting characters I have great respect and love the Chinese people Many blessings to them I do other foreign languages also They keep me from being bored at nights I am doing something constructive at night God bless you

Might I suggest another version in which you could include the number of each radical together with the pinyin and meaning and perhaps even soft background music and a lighter background - similar to the videos on the Lan Lee channel - which is also excellent but incomplete. You mean "KANJI" or "HANZI", because "KANGXI" is pretty confusing... but thanx for the useful video after all.
Actually Kangxi was the emperor which ordered the standardisation of the Chinese radicals in the 1700s, hence the term "Kangxi radicals".
