Stage 6 when you beat Goo, you fight him for abit then he runs away when you half his lifebar, stage 9 at the top of Lord Gohda’s castle you kill him but he then disappears by a flash bang, and then stage 10 just before you reach the depths of Lord Mei-Oh’s lair.
Tenchu dropped in '98, and by 1998 there were already 4 Metal Gear games. I do like the Tenchu style stealth more than Metal Gear, but just giving props where it's due (❁´◡`❁)
That is a truly impressive feat, for both of them. These days you see a lot more hand done (if heavily computer aided of course) animation. But motion capture just brings a life and fidelity it can't match.
Man I miss this game & wish they'd make a good new one... Such memories from my early teenage years... As a 30 year old man TO THIS DAY me & my older sister still have references to this game that are our inside jokes.. Every time we see something that's abnormal or out of place we'll yell "WHAT!" just like the guys from this game lol... Good times.

At 1:39 the theme REALLY picks up. You expect a standard look (as most games use that) but no, it just GOES ON AND BECOMES SO MUCH MORE AMAZING WITH EVERY SECOND!
I had an epic battle with a college friend of mine with this cheat, where I played Onikage and he was Rikimaru. We fought so much that we became near-perfectly synced, our characters ducking and hopping over each others' attacks naturally during their combos and attacks. We even ended up clashing leg and blade repeatedly. What annoyed him, though, was how good I was at using a healing potion when he tried to quickly switch to it and heal. See, the second player has an infinite supply of whatever item the first player currently has selected. The only exception is the grappling hook, which only Player One could use. Sadly, that was the last time I played that copy of the first Tenchu...

Noriyuki Asakura is a freaking master artist. I have the entire soundtrack from all Tenchu and Way of the Samurai games in FLAC (all done by him). If you guys know any other soundtrack by him similar to those games let me know. I can't find any music genre similar to his music. To me it's totally one of a kind

When you have no choice but to face a dragon with only 27 people out of the 40 needed because you literally have a few hours to acquire all the mystical gems to save the world so you're not picky. Also watch that f**king tail!
This dude always gave me and my older brother HELL when we played this game. We thought On was hard but when we had to fight Onikage in the Cult mission, we rage quit. We always knew he was gonna be hard but him to heal up AFTER knocking him down some life, fuck it was not fair. This theme fit him perfect, the orchestra the vocals and the tone was fitting for Onikage.

A game ahead and advanced of its time. No Assasins creed no Metal gear no anything, Tenchu was there before anyone with the stealth concept.

It's still amazing that Kane Kosugi (Onikage's motion capture) was able to do those spin kicks in the prime of his youth.
They got ninja action movie star Sho Kosugi and his son Kane to do the mo-cap for Rikimaru and Onikage.

Ahh, Tenchu 1... enable the custom game cheat, enable 2p, and have the second character play as Onikage. The best cheat screen of any game, ever.
