leave it the hell alone! The games industry is falling apart as the companies scrabble desperately to find ways to hold on to whatever audience they can get and their games are little more than "product". @@icy3-1 Good point! I think because it was a different time, the minister didn't treat Ayame with the same respect as she's a woman. Different values, you know? Plus, Ayama insulted him, but Rikimaru appealed to his sense of honour and encouraged him to do the decent thing. They both approach the man very differently.
It's a shame that so many tracks are not included in the OST CD *and* iTunes - this and Cross the Checkpoint are the two missing level themes and they are both fantastic.
Cross the Checkpoint and Execute the Corrupt Minister were not in the original version of the game. Those two levels were added for the "western" release.

it is pure sexism, go play other "classical samurai theme" game. such as Ronin Blade. Stereotypically women in that settings are tender, graceful, stay at home and all those craps (unless you are kunoichi or geisha). Women could't really take action other than "go into the kitchen".
I remember just sitting perfectly still on a rooftop, looking down at a courtyard while the snow was falling and listening to this. It could not get much more atmospheric than that back in the PS1 era.
Everytime I play this level it remind way back as a kid I remember playing.... on this stage while the power went off we had a Major Christmas Ice Storm back in 1998
Truly an amazing theme. One of my favorites if not THE favorite. I can see it now, if they remake this game, everything will be unlocked through microtransactions. Stealth Kills, Items, Cosmetics, Stages, etc.
the funny thing for me is that im so relaxed at this level cause of the song and then i do something stupid or walk around a corner and meet a soldier and nearly jump out of my pants but other wise one of my favourite games of all time and most favourite series of all time.:P
Between the snow, strings, horns, and jingling bells, I always thought of this level as "A Very Tenchu Christmas." Of course, Kataoka had coal in his stockings and Rikkimaru came down the chimney instead of Santa
If FromSoftware does resurrect Tenchu, which funny enough "Sekiro" was early in its development, would they follow up where Shadow Assassins left off or do some sort of (soft?) reboot or outright remake the first two games from the ground up? The first game really needs it and it's tone and atmosphere is damn-near perfection. And the prequel second Tenchu game's story is surprisingly well-told, voiced acted, and choreographed for a PS1 game not unlike MGS1. Before Sekiro released and was named, MANY thought it was a new installment and I'm sure that didn't go unnoticed by the company. They brought back *Armored Core* recently despite it being dormant for so long, so why not Tenchu which is arguably just as popular despite it being just as dormant. And clearly the ninja series are at least still on their minds given the Sekiro stuff mentioned above and the references & inspiration that game took from it, so I pretty confident well see a Rikimaru and Ayame return before long. 🥳🥳

Even samurai women were meant to be submissive and docile to a man. thats why Kataoka didn't want to die by a woman Rikimaru even tells the female warrior she shouldn't be out fighting, iirc. With Ayame, the female warrior's brother says a similar thing to Ayame about how she shouldn't be doing the things shes doing, like Rikimaru to the female warrior. Same with Kataoka. He died with Rikimaru, but he definitely did not want to be killed by Ayame. Don't act like it wasn't a sex thing, because it was lol. thats one of the differing points of playing them lol
in Tenchu guideline, Ayame was an orphan from a destroyed village. Her birthname was Omon, lack of family name due to not being born in a samurai clan. Azuma shinobi was a small shinobi clan unlike Koga clan or Iga clan, Azuma didn't really employ kunoichi for seducing and stealing from targets, so they train Ayame as an assassin.
