Thankyou for the tips. I've been singing for years (just for fun really), but lately I have been taking my voice more seriously in terms of care and technique. I've never really had access to my upper range due to a weak head voice and, therefore, have just been trying to reach for higher notes within my chest voice. This meant a lot of strain due to me being a baritone and the fact that most modern songs have relatively high notes (for me anyway). I have been strengthening my head voice lately using scales and lip rolling and, sure I've got far to go before it's usable but I'm seeing small progress all the time which is encouraging. In the mean time, I've just been trying to eliminate as much tension as possible which has brought me here.
That sounds suspiciously like your tongue getting in the way. See if you can gently rest you fingers on your jaw and put your thumbs under your chin. At first just see if you can feel a “pressing down.” When you discover where that is, GENTLY push back with those thumbs. Repeat until you loose the tension in your tongue. It’s a guess but a somewhat educated one.
This was eye-opening to me. I always wondered why my jaw hurt when I sang (in church is about it). I'm a jaw-jutter, lol. Hopefully at 40 yrs old I can learn how to properly hinge my jaw. I've enjoyed your other videos as well. Thank you.
Thats interesting, cause I have heard alot of times that you do not need to focus at all on how much your mouth is open.. But I dont know.. Just here to broaden my knowledge. Thanks!
ive noticed u never really react to girl groups so i really hope you will in the future! The jaw thrust thing... I have an over bite. And a big tongue. So my jaw is further back and in order to more easily free my tongue and keep it relaxed I feel like I need to push it forward to a "normal" position for most people where I can hold a pencil between my top and bottom front teeth alone. What to do about this?
bts just sung loads of their new songs at the bangbangcon live stream - you could maybe react to some ? Jamais Vu is such a good song and they performed that
I have a question, if anybody can answer me this. Few years ago, a vocal coach told me, that my voice is not a tenor but a bariton. I never took singing lessons, because for the medieval-like kind of band i was playing in, it wasn't a big question for me to sing, 'cause it was instrumental at most and i played the guitar and stuff. But i tried to sing nevertheless, more by trial and error all the time and the more i sung the more i build a quite powerful voice for the fact that im not a professional singer. But my question now is: I can go very low and quite high in notes, but the higher notes are harder to hit for me. Two weeks ago, i started to do some more warm-up and vocal training with UTube and a book about voice.. since a few days im hitting ALL notes of my range with relative ease, but it seems that i can't control my voice the same way i could two weeks ago. i always thought, my bariton is hard to control, but the past days it feels like it it is going crazy. "No, Sir, i will not do what you want from me anymore, nehehehe! Here is your bass and here is your note somewhere in the stratosphere!" Is it possible that you can "loosen" your voice so much, that you are out of control with it? Should i stop that training and wait, or should i go further, cause it is an improvement? I want to do some damage, if it's a sign for that. And sorry for my jolty english, im from Germany :,D
@@kukosek it's been a while and i started streaming on Twitch, so i used my voice a lot. After a while m voice started to settle itself and i did find out i'm more of a bass-baritone. It helps a lot to know that "feeling normal" with your voice doesn't mean you speak and sing in your natural voice >.>
When you're supposed to sing in diaphragm and not with throat is it supposed to sound higher in pitch? I kinda like the pitch and depth of my voice when singing with throat. When I attempt to sing without throat I feel like I'm raising my pitch. I don't like the tone much compared to when I just sing normally w/throat. Thanks!
First I cannot sing, however it seems that my friend, who has heard me sing, just at Karaoke sessions, for a laugh...She gets married in 12 days and just 4 days ago asked me to sing Barbra Streisand Woman In Love,,,,......I asked if she wants her guest to stay or to walk out...she said ¨I know you do not sing professionally but please sing this at my wedding,,,,...ahhhhh..So am trying to figure out to Sing along with Barbra, that way I do not ruin the whole song......Because KARAOKE version the music is awful...My friends said after hearing me sing with Barbra singing and the Lyrics, I actually hit the high notes very well, but she said its all a fun day, she has asked 2 other friends who are male to sing....They are doing just Karaoke versions of their Spanish Songs. I am the only one singing in English....HELP!!!!!!!!!

2. tongue relaxed
3. neck relaxed
4. digastric muscles under tongue relaxed
