Our FIRST TIME in BGC | Is This Even the Philippines?! 🇵🇭

- In this video we are checking out Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Manila, Philippines for the first time!
The videos starts in the middle of BGC where we are looking at the tall buildings, and introducing the video.
Later on we had to get some food and went to the Yellow Cab to get some pizza, before heading back to the streets exploring the rest of this amazing part of Manila.
We were quite shocked by how modern BGC was as you can probably tell from watching the video. This is our first impression of the city.

Although New York is bigger than BGC,
But BGC is cleaner and smells better than New York City
This place is like NYC, Chicago and
Tokyo, but a lot cheaper in food and condos, also peaceful and safe to walk daily in all streets,
clean surroundings.

I hope BGC would have trams or bus trains that goes around the area. And hoping more trees on the side walk.
It would be nice with some more public transport there for sure! We enjoyed the trees and bushes there though
BGC layout is actually inspired with major american Downtowns like CHICAGO and MIAMI I been in Bangkok but, there nicest and modern area isnt really closed to BGC or even MAKATI. BGC is far modern and brand New.
the layout and design of BGC was from the urban planners from Hong Kong and UK. Dante Tiñga (former congressman of Taguig) hired them. FYI
@@charliesue8197 but BGC layout is trully the same to the major american City. hongkong is pretty small City and the streets are narrow. london is very dirty and not impressive no modernity and tall skyscrapers. while Manila is very diverse very impressive alot are on goings from very local to very Modern area.

@@charliesue8197 just search it too london only has 30+ skyscrapers standing 150 meters high or equivalent to 45 floors up. while MANILA has 225 skyacrapers as of june 2023 that stands 150 meters above. its just that london has the shard with 310 meters high. but in come to dense tall skyscrapers london is just equivalent to fil invest City Alabang.

The buildings are still new that is why they look beautiful. There will come a time that those bldgs.will also look old just like in your country where bldgs are now gradually looking old and just the same everyday. For me,nature's natural beauty and wonders are still the best.

Manila is the capital of the Philippines. Metro Manila aka as National Capital Region (NCR) is composed of several cities with a population of 13M. The Philippines is divided into 18 regions and one of them is NCR. Each region is composed of provinces.
Tagaytay is nice. It's an hour ride from Manila (weekday). "Balay Dako" is the best restaurant there.

BGC and Makati CBDs are way nicer than NY and Chicago. The former are more comparable to HK and Singapore, respectively.
Metro Manila has many developed areas. Its not just BGC. But The Philippines is just still a developing country. That means many other areas qre way behind development. But in general, privately developed and maintained areas are orderly, clean, and modern. While those entirely under the government are dirty and chaotic.

while in Manila try to visit Corrigidor Island, where Filipino n American forces fought the Japanese, only about 20 mins ride via a fastcraft , boarding station located behind the Cultural Center of Manila
BGC is very westernized, venture out into the province areas where you will experience more of the culture
Funny thing is that western countries are not like this. Especially in europe. Skyscrapers is rare

We have 175 languages all over the Philippines 😊and it's not a dialect because the word itself has different meaning and different pronunciation and the to major language is Tagalog the national language and English the second language and our mother tongue is it depends which province where you came from for example visayan or cebuano or bicolano😊

BGC actually still has some areas that are undeveloped. Maybe 1/3 of total BGC land is still undeveloped.

Southern Philippines plays Soccer or Football than Luzon. I learned to play football in Cebu City Coca Cola Soccer Camp during my Elementary i think there's a lot of Spaniards settled in Cebu City and they also used to play Jai-Alai another Spanish Sport.
Go to Baguio City. Much better than BGC. Just saying.. 😏

Visit also baguio city. The coldest city in the philippines. Baguio city was developed by Unites states of america. And was transfered to The philippines after world war 2. Visit Burnham park, camp John Hay, igorot stone kingdom, strawberry farm, mirador, try also Horse riding in the Wright park, try also the Most haunted house in the world but now turned into restaurant it is so called the laperal White house and the haunted diplomat hotel that americans built.. Burnham, wright and John hay are all american sur names who developed the city.

Bangkok has many tall buildings, but I don't think Bangkok has this kind. BGC does not compare to any cities in BK. BGC is more modern and is similar to NY. Enjoy!
BGC certainly has more tall buildings than Bangkok. But they have some really modern and tall towers over there too. Especially around the Siam area and down along that big park Lumpini. I'd love to go see NY some day :)
@@lostandjetlagged Those are just buildings of Bangkok. I'm talking about the vibe and the layout and design of the whole space where the buildings are situated. Bangkok may have some modern buildings, but their layout design of the city is scattered and not even closely compared to Makati or BGC, even the vibe are different. Yeah, you should go to NY someday, so you would know that it does have similarities with BGC, I've been to both. Have a nice day!

Bonifacio Global City. Really nice area in Manila
Manila is capital of the philippine but metro manila compose of city,pasay city ,Quezon city,makati ,taguig,BGC is there,manila where there is quaopochurch,binondo the old chinese town,caloocs city,malabon,navotas ,pasig city.
Makati also has a central business district that kind of looks like BGC, try to go to ayala avenue/Ayala triangle gardens. And you only visited a small neighborhood of BGC called uptown this is not even the “center/main” which is the 5th avenue/Highstreet area.

Other dark side of Manila are people from the far away province like Visaya and Mindanao,trying to find good life,but if you dont have white color jobb,end as homeless in Manila or squatter. Metro Manila the national capital is a metropolis and has a population of more than 18million. Mega Manila is a Megalopolis of more than 30 million according to 2020 census.
