I already been to BANGKOK, KUALA LUMPUR and JAKARTA and honestly what makes these cities stunning is that they have iconic buildings like the petronas of KL but, when it comes to organized, well planned with pedestrian friendly and modern BGC is far far better it really looks like American major downtowns like CHICAGO, Brickell, MIAMI and NEW YORK. it doesnt looks like Asian cities.

Binondo Chinatown was established in 1594, the OLDEST Chinatown in the world. It was also the Makati up until the late 60s when Makati, developed in the 50s, emerged as the first to be created a Corporate city in the ASEAN.

They are trying to redevelop Escolta, Binondo back into the posh area it was back in the 1960s. Unfortunately Escolta was abandoned in favor of Makati in the 1990s and the place slowly turned into a state of disrepair that it is today. The local government has a 15 year tax free incentive for someone who can fund the redevelopment. The plan was to turn Escolta into the Clark Quay (premium shopping and food area in Singapore) of the Philippines.

Growing up in the Philippines, I remember my oldies always telling us we should be friendly to neighboring countries, including the USA. My grandparents told me how the Americans helped us liberate Fron from the Japanese invasion, which I would be grateful forever. Ironically we are also had a good relationship with the Japanese. About WW2, I think it's important to note that the Philippines weren't some far-flung country in the corner of Asia that out of nowhere, the US decided to liberate from Japanese invasion. The Philippines was part of the American commonwealth and sphere of influence. Not just pop culture and whatnot but literal part of American commonwealth much like how Puerto Rico is today. We flew the American flag above our own and we used the American dollar. The US is literally bound by law to defend the commonwealth. Of course I wasn't undermining the friendship that blossomed between these two countries. Just saying that not everything is as black and white as it seems, considering that the US invaded us first before the Japanese did. There's a reason why we speak English and not Spanish despite being part of the Spanish empire for three centuries.

    • @piacash5216
      @piacash5216 ปีที่แล้ว

THE AMERICAN NOT INVADED THE PHILIPPINES, WHEN THE SPANIARD DONE THEIR RULING THEY SOLD THE PHILIPPINES FOR 1 MILLIONS DOLLARS THATS HOW THE AMERICANS CAME TO THE Philippines AND Philippines Became US TERRITORY, ALONG WITH GUAM, AND PUERTO RICO, THEN THE AMERICAN GIVE THE Philippines BACK TO ITS PEOPLES IN JULY 1946 , THATS WHY WE CELEBRATE OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY …. ✌️✌️✌️🙌

    • @Skip-Kilat

@@tessmacgyver1023 not entirely true… Japan was in a war of conquest in China since 1937, but it realized they lacked the resources to conduct a longer protected war if they wanted to succeed.
particularly, they needed oil. which can only be found in what was at the time the Dutch East Indies or Indonesia and Malaysia.
so they decided to grab that as well considering that the Dutch were already in a war with Hitler. and knowing that the Dutch allies, Great Britain and the US will never let that happen, Japan decided to strike first and destroy british and america forces in the area, namely Malaya, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
so yes, the philippines was technically dragged into the war but, even if the US forces were not there, and since the philippines was in the way of Indonesia, the same way Korea was in the way if china… Japan would have coerced whoever controlled the philippines into cooperation, by force or otherwise. it wouldn’t have mattered if the US or Spain or an independent government controlled the philippines… japanese presence would have been inevitable.

Nice video Zane. Some 5 years ago or so if I am not mistaken, a group of American Mormon missionaries became famous in the Philippines and they called themselve the Hey Joe Show. They recorded an album and it was a big hit.

We used to live there in Serendra Bgc..i didn't really appreciate the place not until we left . I realized that bgc was really a nice place to live, the convenience, safety, and parks everywhere. You don't need a ride if you want to eat in the restaurant if you wanna go to malls, it's everywhere. We're lucky during locked down, anytime we can go out and buy our foods. I love BGC

BGC comes to life when the sun nears to set. Pinoys don’t like heat, so they will thrive in airconditioned area such as mall. They come out by the afternoon around 5pm.

Actually, there are 2 American cemeteries in RP, this one in Taguig and the other lesser known Clark Cemetery. When the US left Clark Air Base because of Mount Pinatubo's eruption, they almost forgot the cemetery. It's fully rehabilitated now.

The buildings on the Uptown mall are not condo units. Those are commercial buildings occupied by big players in BPO industry. I used to work there, I miss that place.

Hey Zane. You should check out haircut prices and hospital prices and how modern the hospitals are and not as aggressive in medicating people as an industry. let me know if you want to go around Rockwell or Mandaluyong area.. I'm down to take you on a tour

Try visiting Pasay city, most world class casinos are located there.
Eastwood city for another charming vibe
Ortigas Center in mandaluyong city is like Makati but with a different vibe
Lastly, alabang central business district in the south of metro manila for a very natury, cityish but slow pace vibe

Little tip from my filipina friend she taught me about smart and globe sims:
If you load and you do not select a plan they will put you on a per megabyte use and your load will be gone within a matter of hours, unless you selected the plan which has a set amount of data.

Yeah, America did SAVED the Philippines from invasion TWICE @14:27.. the first one was an AMERICAN INVASION that started in 1898 that is part of the American-Spanish war. And followed by the Philippine-American War of 1899-1902 between the 1st Philippine Republic and your invading army. You SAVED us by killing around a million Filipinos and committing massacres and genocide the Filipinos never actually experienced from Spain's 333 years of colonization. The 2nd one was during WWII, as an American colony with Americans Bases and the Philiipine armed forces being actually part and under the US Army, the Japanese invaded the country. The Americans liberated Manila by totally destroying half of it. Together with the atrocities of the Japanese and the relentless bombing of Manila, millions Filipinos was killed. YEAH, USA did saved the Philippines TWICE.

If you want to go to BGC though, pls note that it is NOT in Manila.
It is in Taguig. Manila and Taguig are different cities but both are in METRO Manila which the old but still popular name of the NCR.

If you wish or plan to see cheaper and good condo units please ask Mergim Vlogs because he has been looking at many condos at BGC and knows many agents that you can talk to when it comes to BGC condos. Just a suggestion.

dont forget to bring hanky /bandana with you ,when you travel ,if youre not doing it yet. thats a life saver for me ,if i have to wipe facial sweat, cover face with it ,when sneezing ,coughing in public etc .some Filipinos take wash cloth with them ,when theyre exposed to extreme heat.
