Great bit of filming, rock steady tripod work, not any messing around with the zoom. You should be proud of this. Well done .

A few years ago I saw a Lancaster flying low over the flats where I live. What a superb sight.
Makes you so proud to be British and you have to ask yourself would we as a nation be as brave now as they were back then.....Amazing stuff
The RAF treating the old lady with utmost respect.
@@terryjohnson7389 she’s beautiful
That was superb. The last DC3 flying in the Netherlands as been taken out of service because the EU has forbidden the fuel as of next year and because of environmental laws. Good job the EU wasn't around 80 years ago.
Paratroop drops, supply and equipment runs, glider towing, the Berlin Airlift... Europe would be an entirely different place without the DC3, (and the Lancaster, of course). There are times when not making a tiny bend in the rules is an insult to history!
The AvGas ban and environmental/noise issues aren’t the only reasons. The DDA cite numerous other reasons for discontinuing flights of their DC3, including the termination of their lease, a reduction in flight slots at Schiphol, an increase in landing costs and the fact that their volunteers are aging and they can’t find replacements with the relevant expertise. They haven’t yet ruled out the use of an alternative fuel, but seem to think the biggest stumbling block is the lack if a suitable base of operations.
@@pete1942 Lelystad ?
@@Bruce-1956 No affordable hanger space and too far from where most of the volunteers live.
Blame the EU, rather than check facts.
Lets not forget the brave young men who flew and died in them.

😂 I bought one a couple of weeks ago to build over the Winter with a glass of Cognac. It’ll take me back 60 years but without the Cognac.
Lovely. Reminds me of watching the Shackletons at RAF Lossie in the 80s.

Such a gentle soft landing, almost as if the plane floated down upon the airstrip. Fantastic.
Wow. What a shot. The grace & power of these wonder aeroplanes comes through. My dear old Dad (just memories now) was a Tail-end-Charlie in a Lancaster bomber in WWII. I have some photo's of him & the rest of the crew standing outside the Lancaster. He never spoke much about it but he did tell me one time that he was ALWAYS freezing cold. I have his flying gloves & medals.

Great way to see the fall colours!
Awesome aircraft. My great uncle was a pilot in WWII flying the Lancaster. I am from Ontario, Canada and the 1 that still flys from Mount Hope Airport near Hamilton Ontario flys over my house quite often. You can actually pay and they will take you for a ride in it, although it costs like $4000 CAD.
That was astounding Daniel, the clarity of the shot to the landing, simply beautiful editing.
@@Normandy1944 no editing mate that was it raw filmed on slow motion
@@Danielsjourneyuk The slow mo' was the editing I was referring to. I saw the semi-truck slowing thinking he was watching the landing then looked at the plane and realized it was slow as well. 😁No matter how you look at it, it looks great.

I used to live on Merton Road in Watton, Norfolk in the fifties and the Lincoln’s used to fly right over our bungalow on their approach to the runway. It was one mile from touchdown and we would wave to the pilots. We had them going over both day and night, the tv picture would start to roll faster the closer they got.
