Good tips. I try to avoid conflict at all costs...such a good game for introverts. Not so much for someone with high anxiety, but it's an addictive experience. I've hidden from the alien around pillars and under desks. It seems like it won't fall for the same hiding trick over and over though. The alien AI seems to learn your patterns, so it will drag you out of your favorite hiding spots without hesitation.
And in it’s average Juanito in South America... guess it’s average Sasha in Russia... average Mario or Pietro in Italy... Pepe for Spain or Portugal, Hans for Germany, Akira for Japan, etc... this game can be so cosmopolitan I love it!
@strahinjagov Yeah but, when I ran outta bolt gun at the reactor core, I shotgunned a hazmat android with a upgraded shotgun 3 times for it to finally die, (On Normal difficulty).
Something interesting I learned during my first nightmare playthrough is that the androids you encounter on your way down to the alien nest don't need to be fought or dodged. I always thought they were scripted to attack you, but you can sneak past them without risk of injury or expending valuable resources if you move from crate to crate while their backs are turned. It's better to do it this way since you'll need to fight them later on when it's time to trigger the reactor purge.
The Hazmats....be sure to stock up on the pipebombs and molotovs, when you are out of guns. Only thing that takes them down. try to gather the hazmat guys in a group that follows you, then throw a pipebomb at them. Usually it kills all. I managed to kill 4 w. the same bomb. Also have a spare pipebomb, ready to be built, so stock up on scrap and stuff to build it, so you have 4. Also if you throw all 3 molotovs at one, it usually takes at least one down. They often have a lot of goodies on them.
First time I tried to go after working Joe was a complete nightmare, pisses me off how absolutely overpowered they are, something that people should’ve thought about before putting the game out still great play through though, but the working Joe’s are more dangerous than the goddamn Alien.
If you haven't got any weapons before the apollo .i was using Pipe bomb to those rain coat ones. then i just hitted them with The Mantience Jack and they got ripped.

I'm currently playing through the game for the first time, and I'm stuck at the bit where you encounter the hazmat joes for the first time, in which the game stupidly decided to take all my guns away. I have little to fight them off with, and there's little crafting items around to aid in my making weapons to fight them. Do you have any good tips for that bit, because it is the hardest part of the game for me right now?
I'm REALLY late to help, you must have completed the game already (possibly multiple times), but there's a very easy way to get rid of them... sort of. See, in the area where you encounter them for the first time, there are 2 server rooms, each one has got its own little "puzzle", in which you have to activate some emergency systems or something that will kill everyone standing in that room (at this point you're in a safe spot). You can just lure them in and take them out. Though, you have to be quick, and it only works once in ech room. If there's someone who has the same problem, watching this after all these years, I hope this was helpful.
You can also lure them all into that hydrogen or whatever cell, then use the computer to active the pressure and basically cook them with it, but you only get 1 try so try to lure them all into the same room. And as mentioned pipe bombs work and actually a few molotovs also work but takes a lot of time.

Honestly over half the time the alien wouldn't have killed you if these robots weren't being extra and grabbed you while the alien was nearby

The working Joe's are the reason why I raged quit this game. I seriously hate them.

No they don’t die, THEY DONT EVEN FLINCH WHEN THROWN A PIPE BOMB

Molotov then pipebomb works on hazmat it MAY take out multiple. Emp does not.
this method must be for normal and blew because on hard it takes 2 pipe bombs to kill an insulated working joe
