"Why don't they freeze him" was mentioned by that one character like 30 times after Kane was brought on board, and its ridiculous that no one listened to him , because here you are explaining in perfect detail why that would have been the best possible solution. Granted his mindset was that they'd "cure him later" so he was right for the wrong reasons, but even his own rationale is far more solid than just letting Kane sit in quarantine letting the facehugger do whatever it wants.
Because the medical officer, the one who would get to decide if they froze him, was actively protecting the Alien. He knew the whole time what was happening to Kane. There's even a shot where you can see the chestburster on a monitor when Ripley confronts him about breaking quarantine that he tries to hide.
I didn't even realize it was a sponsorship until halfway through when my thought process was "wait a minute, why would we give aliens wine?"

The funny thing about alien is that if everyone listened to Ripley, the movie would’ve been over in 30-45 mins 😂
The whole theme of the movie is when people are in a state of fear they are not thinking straight. The android was programmed by Wayland Yutani to keep the crew in a state of fear; Wayland Yutani utilised the the greed of the crew perfectly when it came to their "wages". To put it bluntly the crew was a part of a very horrible experiment performed by Wayland Yutani; they fell for it hook line and sinker and paid the price.
He makes a lot of mistakes in these videos, i would say, this video should have been called "how to NOT defeat a xenomorph"
Seriously, he makes so many mistakes about lore, its a necessary when you are making video of this kind.

Two things wrong with ignoring the distress signal:
1) You'd have to sleep at night knowing it could've been someone that actually needed help
2) Ash would probably have reported you. I also have a theory that Ash knew good and well what they were walking into, so in that case he'd try his best to convince the crew to land.
Ash was definitely acting under orders from WY to bring the alien back. He says this in the movie.
Alien: Attacks man.
Crew: Yeah, let's bring it back.
Alien: Implants something in the host.
Crew: This is fine.
Alien: Dies after implanting said unidentified object in its host.
Crew: Still no problem here.
Man: Dies from alien chest buster.

But this movie is kind of dumb because the main "hidden" protocol was to bring the alien to Earth using the android as the captain..OK so why didn't the multi billion company use all androids for the mission???

7:00 This is a great example of how you avoid the old horror "why are you going into the basement??" cliche of characters doing stupid things so the plot can happen and bad things take place. Ripley makes the right call here. And the science officer ignores her. Later in the movie you learn the science officer is an evil android ordered by the company to get the alien back for analysis, all crew members expendable. So you literally have the hero making the intelligent decision but forces they are not yet aware of undermine their efforts. That's good storytelling. It lets the bad stuff happen without compromising the intelligence of the people fighting the bad thing.
Another thing evolution might tell us. The acid blood strongly implies the creature is from a world that lacks any significant volume of water. Sulfuric Acid is hypothesized as being capable of serving the same basic biological fiunction as water does to most life on Earth because it has many of the same qualities with the obvious exception that the organism needs to be a extremophile that can survive the acid bath.

Here’s the thing that people tend to completely forget about the alien universe. Interacting with the xenomorphs is not humanity’s first run in with alien life.
In fact, it’s directly stated that some humans have literally copulated with aliens (not xenomorphs) in the movie Aliens, with the throwaway line about the arcturians, which are literally aliens that look like the greys. Humanity already has run into and ingratiated alien species into its societies across the universe, but for some reason we’ve never gotten to see them on screen.
So investigating an alien craft and discovering alien life isn’t exactly treading any new ground in the aliens universe outside of the xenomorphs.

Your point about the Alien being a threat to the cargo and the ship itself is a very good one.
Even from the company's perspective its more prudent to log the location of the signal, have the refinery ship come back, and it turn send a "rescue" crew to the location of the signal.
We know that, and the Company may begrudgingly be forced to accept that, but then they'd just try again with some other poor schmucks. The Engineer's spore tech is greater than Mjolnir in regards to being both a tool and a weapon, and they'll stop at nothing for it.
Yes, they can declare themselves the sole proprietors of the galaxy with the threat of an unfortunate Xenomorph infestation on every colony, but on the other hand they can grow interstellar spaceships out of the ground.

I was thinking....If a xenomorph's blood is acid, what would happen if you were able to inject or shoot a super strong base into it? Would it be like mixing vinegar and baking soda? Would it neutralize the acidic nature of the blood? Would it possibly act as a poison to kill it? I don't know what would happen but it was an interesting thought.
The blood is not acidic.
BUT it becomes an acid when it contact to air.
Akin to our stomach. Our stomach does not secrete pure acid (the glans would melt themselves) It secretes two different components from different glands, and only when mixed together they form an acid.
But like, how do you get close enough to a Xeno to pierce its skin safely? At that point, just sever it's head!

I know this was a super scary film when it came out, but when Captain Dallas gets attacked by the alien in the air shaft the alien looks like it just wants a hug and that always makes me chuckle

Ash’s agenda was Weyland-Yutani’s agenda. This crew was screwed even before they came out of hyper sleep. The company knew about the alien ship on LV-426, the Nostromo was just unlucky enough to be closest to it to divert their course for Earth.
