  • The the world of off-road, Beta has a long and successful track record with world titles in many enduro racing disciplines. But in motocross, they’ve never offered a specific moto machine for the track. Until now... The 2021 Beta 300 RX is their first moto bike and we get the pleasure of testing it for a couple months. This video is after our first day of riding and we were primarily just getting acquainted with all the different components on the machine. More to come so stay tuned.

      Depending on how long you have to wait for parts. If it’s like others, and have to wait two weeks for simple parts, in one year word will get out and it will fail.

    Got the power valve adjustment backwards. Out all the way flush gives the biggest “hit”. Running it in softens the hit

    • @simplejackenduro
      @simplejackenduro 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really. The more you turn it in, the longer the power valve stays closed into the RPM range. Eventually the R's will get high enough for the PV to open..... combine the sudden opening of the PV with high RPM's and you have one hell of a "hit" coming.
      The reason why running the adjuster "in" gets a reputation for softening the hit, is because the guys that prefer it that way typically NEVER ride in the upper portions of the range

    • @themotocrossmodchannelWulfMX
      @themotocrossmodchannelWulfMX 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@simplejackenduro Thank god someone with some sense replied to this power valve topic...all the PV does in regulate, (in time with engine rpm), between the pv being closed and pv open. On the KTM's, there are (3) diff springs that offer less, stock, more resistance against the internal pv centrifugal system. As you turn the adj in, you are applying more resistance to the pv mechanism so it opens slower, turning out puts less pressure on it and the pv will flip open faster. When one of them says it felt flat on top when it was wide open and refers to the pv causing it, I am cringing...if it is wide open and under a full twist, the pv is open and not in play anymore. I like the bike review and all but some of the technical terms used by these guys makes them sound very uneducated on things. For the record, I used to own a mod shop for KTM/Husky years ago and have tuned more KTM's than any other tuner, period.

      @Bill Madd I agree mostly. When I raced 250s you would wring the shit outta that thing compared to running 450s. Almost like the 150 SX but more shove down low. The 150 is another bike you're on the pipe to get what you want to outta of it tho. I would love to have this Beta to race vet class as 450s can try to kill you and I don't want to have more broken bones at 40. They vet guys I know that race are just trying to have a good time but still go fast. This seems like the perfect bike for that class, whether your C, B or A guy.

      EVERY 300 on the market costs over 9k!!! That's the price for new two-stroke technology unfortunately. My 2019 TM EN300ES is not cheap and it pissed me off, but that feeling goes away real quick when you know you are the owner of something built with engineering precision, as well as beautiful craftsmanship from the racing passion of the Italian people - Beta is not an exception. They continue to drive championships around the world, have renowned reliability in chassis and engine, and have stunning aesthetics. I'm so thankful that I was lucky enough to actually get to purchase/reserve my TM Racing bike! R/D is very expensive for machines like these, additionally, they have to pay for the shipping of these bikes which with small numbers produced from the Italian offroad motorcycles, results in even less profit margins. They are growing thankfully due to people who want the 2 stroke market to grow like me...this is the price to pay...and at least I have an engine on my bike for 10k - I have friends who mountain bike here in WA state that paid that much for a darn bicycle!!?? But it brings them joy, and happiness, the same way dirt bikes do for me - esp smokers! 🤘💪 Don't get me wrong though, I love a good thumper too! I'd like that new 2021 Honda CRF450RX in my garage right now too, but I have the one I like more with me right now. Haha Have a blessed day, my brother. Wish these bikes were cheaper too so the sport could reach many others (however, an increase of machines that are between a trail and racer are coming about - look into Kawasaki KLX300R or a 2021 GPX MOTO TSE250R cause they have some wonderful tech on them for the price)...I'm not gonna lie, it took me 3 years to get my bike, but I'm so much better off mentally and physically with it. Life is an adventure if you let yourself have the right attitude, and put in hard work/effort. :) How many can say they have a bike as technologically advanced as mine that was hand built? It really is such a work of art, both running or sitting on the stand.

    • @jonathondavis170
      @jonathondavis170 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @LA FLAMA BLANCA I am, and I will. 🤘💪 My TM is better than my 2020 Husqvarna transfer port injection 2 stroke, so your point really holds no value...the technology that has went into these bikes the past few years far exceeds anything...my bike has ecu tuning that is specific to EACH gear, and has the best electronic power valve on the market. I'm an electrical engineer as well, and I am very happy with the craftsmanship of every part after extensively inspecting it.
      Sounds like you never rode or bought a TM that is a 2019+ model, so how would you know??? Sounds like you, or one of your "friends" bought a 15 year old clapped out piece of junk...suspension was on par with my Yamaha YZ250FX as well. This is by far the best bike I've owned as far as quality of power made, agility, and even weight displacement throughout the chassis. Someone who makes negative comments online are usually jealous, poor, entitled, inauthentic pieces of crap with no talent or education, or intelligence...so they must insult someone to feel better about themselves. Bye Felicia. You can eat my roost. Haha
      You obviously don't know that the 300 2t carb versions produce 52 RWHP, and injected models produce 56. Don't believe me??? VHM has a video of them increasing HP with their gold head. I already have the full pro circuit exhaust system which increased HP from the stock - and still VERY awesome - HGS Pipe. You can buy the bikes with as many options as you desire as well, like Reikon bars, Ohlins suspension, carb or fuel injection, tire choices, and way more! You make no claim on any of these...additionally they are the only bikes to come with both a potent electric start and a kick start for less than a Husky/KTM, as well as map switches and a DOT road kit...and the single most idiotic thing to say is passing judgement on ANY bikes of today! They are all absolutely astounding, and fit in to their own niche. Beta, TM, Yamaha, SWM, Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki, KTM, Husqvarna, Gas Gas, Rieju, GPX Moto, Sherco, AJP, and even SSRs all do a great job for the market in which they serve, and each have their rightful place in the moto community. I'm pretty sure every engineer at all of these bike manufacturers are way more intelligent than you and me both. You have no right to call any machine junk cause you don't possess the talent or skill to even ride an SSR450 to it's full capacity. I'm getting real tired of people copying what the magazine's say...they always seem to bash on Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, and TM when these are just as reliable as anything else. It's the people not taking care of their shit and avoid maintenance and paying for new parts like the plague!!!! - I'm sorry, but dirt biking is expensive just like most other sports and hobbies. Hard work is required, and that's why most people never progress as well. You should practice humiliation every once in awhile - it could do some good. You must not ride??? Cause bikes will humble you every day of the week...good night sir.

      @@jonathondavis170 If i had to take a guess a Yz 250 with its generation old chassis is going to feel and perform better on the motocross track at least if they are targeting motocross. Its not me putting the bike down, but expected as yamaha has been honing their motocross machines for generations. Granted Beta are using "japanese" designs for the most critical parts Forks, Carbs, etc. Even then they don't have the tuning down like the Japanese manafactures.
      Once on the track the bikes are ridden in a precise part of the power band that the benefits of fuel injection aren't going to be game changing in terms of feel. Same with the power valve. On trails with large engine speed variance that efi is going to stop loading up and hits a perfect idle pulse that is where efi shines.
      Granted you get the whole "exotic" debate of a bike that gets praise just because its not a conventional brand (i.e Ducati getting praise over a Honda). Is a yamaha yz 250 not built to "engineer precision"? I would be shocked if any modern dirt bike from the last 10-15 years not being welded and assembled using cnc and robotics in which they're all going to be "precise". Quality too has been excellent among all manafactures. Outside of ktm that i was familiar with 15 years ago appearing to "lack" quality, every manufacture now achieves enough quality in which any deficiencies are going to be attributed to design.
      Granted i could do the same circle jerk of a yz 250x/250.
      "The quality and engineering design of the yamaha yz 2 stroke line is so world class that generations old design is still relevant and world class today. Look at the all-star 125 2 stroke racing to see the 15 year old chassis take the top 4 places against the only other competitor ktm who have revamped the bike 5 times. The conventional design survives generations keeping things simple and parts affordable and easily available".
      We can make anything sound great.
