Absolutely love these videos. When I want to give up on my coupe I come back to these videos and come back to my senses. Thanks for the inspiration and "keep moving forward" as the great TJ Hunt says lol
mlopezej1 totally agree. it's like therapy grabbing some sockets and a mini impact and going to town. it's really nice when the motors out and you have room to get everything.
Have you thought of wearing a head camer like on MotionAutotv. That way you dont have to worry about the camera its always lookin at what you are. Just a thought but love your vids man.
Can you make a video explaining how to tell the difference from a low compression b20 vs high compression and pros and cons of each motor when using either to go b20v
Actually looks like a decent oem intake manifold... Considering its stock, usually there very bad design and not well flow. This one looks like it has some decent size runner's as far as diameter and length of intake runners... Does anyone ever use these in a B20-vtec build as like a decent oem intake manifold and upgrade in the future? Looks like it goes up pretty high above the engine/valve cover. Will this clear under the hood of a 99 civic 4dr LX? BTW, great videos!!! Been watching these vids for my B20Vtec build going into a nice & clean stock - 99 civic lx 5spd, i picked up recently!
Just picked up a imported jdm B20. What would i need to replace before swapping it into my current b20 ek hatch? Water pump, timing belt, tensioner... Do i have to replace the rear main seal or head gasket?
How do you guys source transmissions that aren’t an arm an a leg? I just got a fresh B20B for my Ek coupe am I’m having issues finding a trans that’s not over $500,the motor was only $326,
Hey I’m in Raleigh but here I can’t find mecánics specialized in Honda’s /Acura’s just the regular ones!! We’re it’s your shop many I’ll have a civic ex and recently I get if one of my Frend a b20z motor and I have some questions plis may u help me !!
Hey ! Great Videos ! just curious why you chose to buy B20 vs rebuild or bore the B18C block ? I have my GSR to pull and rebuild and was wondering if it is cheaper to go B20 vs a rebuild ? Thanks
Question bro how do you take off the gasket that was on that b20 (green gasket) looks like cardboard lol I just purchased a b20 high compression and I ran into that b
Into that problem. I'm swapping out the LS for a b20 just basic stuff. Ohh and besides the manifold from the LS what other parts should I use from the LS to the b20 thanks man keep up the good work bro.
hey so first off this video was awesome, I love hondas well cars in general but I dont know jack shit about breaking down and building stuff so with that being said I have a dumb question. Is he using a b20 block with other engines head? and why?
Marcus Hall non vtec block with a vtec head aka ls vtec. it's more compression and torque. lsv gets alot of bad reputation since alot of them blown up. most of the time is because people think they can just slap the head on and rev it like a gsr lol. great motor if build properly tho.
Honda Street Garage: I need your help with something . I'm doing a h22a1 swap into a 96 ek9 hatch Civic. can I use a engine harness from a 98 2 door Civic?
Errol Morris i think u need the ek engine harness, just need to cut some wires to make longer but i don't not much about it :) good luck bro with u project
I gotta question for ya honda street garage.. isn't that stock b20 intake way taller and bigger than a b16 intake manifold ? would it make a little more power putting it on a b20 vtec or a ls vtec rather than a ITR intake or b16 intake ?
Orlando Rivera i just built a ls vtec and dropped it in my 1996 civic and that 2 bolt mount wouldn't work I had to take the mount off of the b16a2 that was in the car when I bought it
Oscar Arias don't get me wrong I like them but something's they do isn't the correct way to do things, like putting widow caulking in motor mounts when they can Cleary buy or build legitimate mounts
did you just take that crank pulley nut off with a bigger impact? i need to change my post mount and i dont wanna buy the special tool for the crank pulley
Julio V just get a socket and a breaker bar and prop it against something and unplug your fuel injectors. Then use your starter motor to break the crank bolt loose for u
hope somebody's gotta a answer. idle problem, I changed the 2 idle control valves and the map sensor someone said it can be the timing has anyone delt with this problem is have a, h22 automatic transmission , "I know" but I need a,little help here.
+Honda Street Garage hey man since you tore apart the b20 does the void the warranty just asking everywhere I've bought acts like little bitc*** if you tear it apart
sguzman116 warranty...? I'm not worried about a warranty since I only purchased the engine for the block. Everything else it came with is kinda useless for my application.
Honda Street Garage yeah I guess your right sorry for the dumb questions I got screwed on my prelude motor back in high school. I'm just looking for a good place to buy I just got a 95 civic a few days ago already tired of the d15b need a swap ASAP but my wife blew the engine in her subaru RS :'( so I need 2 swaps. Thanks for the quick replies your channel the shi*!
hey bro I saw your last video I have a B20 non VTEC that I'm swapping into my Acura Integra LS non VTEC do I still need to use the b18b1 tremasta and power steering pump ?? because I saw that you switch them on yours I know that I have to use the b18b1 intake manifold obviously some help over hear I did get you some views lol
Mario Rivera so I can use the same distributer and watter pump and power steering pump that was already on the b20 ensted of swapping over the b18 ? thanks bro for the help I appreciate your help I'm not watching his videos and UN fallowing he wants views but won't reply to ppl
Sammy A everything should bolt up. water pump is the same. distributor should work as long as you run one that goes with the harness if it's obd1 or obd2. the b1 should work just fine.
Absolutely love these videos. When I want to give up on my coupe I come back to these videos and come back to my senses. Thanks for the inspiration and "keep moving forward" as the great TJ Hunt says lol
Great video, broski! Digging the new intro music.
tear down the motor is therapy for me i dont know everyone else
Damian Perez I like doing it myself but it does relax me watching someone else doit lol
Nice video man. I can tell you have a good deal of experience. Fun because I haven't watched full Honda engine tear downs before really.
802 Garage fancy seeing you here
This really is super well done, perfect background music still included the tool noises. Great info gives me alot more confidence on my eg b swap
That Irwin Grip kit has saved me more than a few times. I was skeptical on how it would work, but it is actually a solid product.
its just so relaxing to take things off
mlopezej1 totally agree. it's like therapy grabbing some sockets and a mini impact and going to town. it's really nice when the motors out and you have room to get everything.
Hell yeah Mark, stoked on this season. Low mileage and high comp 👍👍👍Keep up the great work.
wish you nothing but the best with the new build I've had an LSV it was a monster get go Honda street garage
that impact had that engine tore down in no time.

I am looking forward to this build. Keep up the great vids!!
Another great video! Cant wait till its running again bro!
Love watching HSG videos !!!!
Damn man, no shit, I used that same Irwin socket set to get my damn stripped tensioner bolt out. Those things saved me sooo much extra fuckin work.

I love videos like this! Keep it up 😎
That impact needs a video of its own and a nickname haha
This makes me wanna finish my k series build
Do it. Film it. show us.
Can you guys do a video on timing belt and how to get the right tension?
King Dc watch the b20vtec assembly video
Honda Street Garage thank u man! Just did my timing again and it went smoothly thanks to ur video!
Have you thought of wearing a head camer like on MotionAutotv. That way you dont have to worry about the camera its always lookin at what you are. Just a thought but love your vids man.
cant wait to c it in the ranfla! Hooning about, hitting v-Tec!
Can you make a video explaining how to tell the difference from a low compression b20 vs high compression and pros and cons of each motor when using either to go b20v
looking at those cam's and wondering if they will work in the twin cam ZC??
love the videos man

I need some help getting one running B16
I'm happy to see this video I am finish my H22 on my Honda Civic ek
How tf do u only have 74k subs... ur videos are hella good
Just picked up a imported jdm B20. What would i need to replace before swapping it into my current b20 ek hatch? Water pump, timing belt, tensioner... Do i have to replace the rear main seal or head gasket?
How many times have you done this? How u gon remember where all the bolts go
How do you guys source transmissions that aren’t an arm an a leg? I just got a fresh B20B for my Ek coupe am I’m having issues finding a trans that’s not over $500,the motor was only $326,
Are you going to degree the b20v or you just gonna align the timing marks?
You have good informative videos man. same set up in working with here. Just invest in a good camera and sound equipment please!
What wheels are in the background and what is the offset of the wheels?
Does this apply for the b18b block as well ?
Hey I’m in Raleigh but here I can’t find mecánics specialized in Honda’s /Acura’s just the regular ones!! We’re it’s your shop many I’ll have a civic ex and recently I get if one of my Frend a b20z motor and I have some questions plis may u help me !!
Question, why take the intake mani off if your just gonna take the head off?
You have great taste in music! What other stuff do you listen to?
What should u replace on the b20 before u swap it in. For a proper swap
How do u remember where all nuts and bolts go?
+Hondastreetgarage u still have the drag civic??
do you have a build on a f22b1? I have a 94 accord and wanna build it!
Hey ! Great Videos ! just curious why you chose to buy B20 vs rebuild or bore the B18C block ? I have my GSR to pull and rebuild and was wondering if it is cheaper to go B20 vs a rebuild ? Thanks
DIYdake I believe he's just gonna use the b20 block with his gsr head
Are you going to built this one good like arp head studs
Which head will you be using, B18 VTEC?
The engine seemed brand new. Why did you tare it down?
what kind of wheels are those!?
What kind of wheels are those
What part of SC you live in because my part I'm literally the only jdm enthusiast 😂 ?
what ecu do you do you run for a jdm b20b ? 1999 - 00
i didnt know it snows in SC....
Can b20 mounts work on an eg swap ?
How much did you get it for?
Question bro how do you take off the gasket that was on that b20 (green gasket) looks like cardboard lol I just purchased a b20 high compression and I ran into that b

how much money is in your engine?
I like ARP head studs better oem bolts are a pain in the butt
Now skin that smoke wagon.
Do you guys do wiring harness?
You should try selling the extra parts on ur page.. if you can.. can you??
have you ever done a Frankenstein engine?
Isn't a b20v a frankenstien engine? 😂😂 or are you refering to a g23 cause tgats the H/F equivilant to the b series Frankenstein
I gotta question for ya honda street garage.. isn't that stock b20 intake way taller and bigger than a b16 intake manifold ? would it make a little more power putting it on a b20 vtec or a ls vtec rather than a ITR intake or b16 intake ?
great question.....
rock hud i think it has to do with hood clearance , would be really close or maybe won't even be able to close the hood , not sure tho
Nope, not more power (maybe a little more in low rpm). And yes, the hood won't close
I knew it had to give it more power some where.. I never thought about hood clearance though lol
rock hud
It is obvious you will not use the head of the b20b non vetc If it's a p08 head I'd like to buy it
Loved the background music, not to loud as well! 👌🏻
Didn't I just see you reply on BoostedBoiz?
802 Garage probably lol
will that 2 bolt mount fit a 96-00 civic? or will i still need to get one from an em1 si
Orlando Rivera i just built a ls vtec and dropped it in my 1996 civic and that 2 bolt mount wouldn't work I had to take the mount off of the b16a2 that was in the car when I bought it
rock hud awesome thanks for reply
No problem buddy
so much BETTER than boostedboiz 👌👍
Blake Mason chill boostedboiz is fire
Oscar Arias don't get me wrong I like them but something's they do isn't the correct way to do things, like putting widow caulking in motor mounts when they can Cleary buy or build legitimate mounts
D16 transmission fit on a B20 motor
did you just take that crank pulley nut off with a bigger impact? i need to change my post mount and i dont wanna buy the special tool for the crank pulley
HOLD FLYWHEEL OR JAM UP CRANK AND STORES RENT TOOL
Julio V just get a socket and a breaker bar and prop it against something and unplug your fuel injectors. Then use your starter motor to break the crank bolt loose for u
thank you both ill try this weekend
Z06 Camshaft I'm almost positive this does not work on a honda since its operation rotation is the opposite direction.
hotrodvdub true homdas spin to the left so it wouldnt work
GOOD INFO
b20 with b16 or b20 with gsr? b18 with b16 head?
Makes no difference
fuck yeah bro right on
hope somebody's gotta a answer.
idle problem, I changed the 2 idle control valves and the map sensor someone said it can be the timing has anyone delt with this problem is have a, h22 automatic transmission , "I know" but I need a,little help here.
Art Lopez don't forget to look for vacuum leaks D:
ok I will look into vacuum leaks, after I get the timing looked at
Would you like to sell the head off of the jdm b20b? If so send me a message ill buy it
How much would it be if i payed you to b20b4 swap my 90 hatch
I got every thing to do it
7:35 too funny 😂 two intake manifolds lmao slowest Bseries tear down I have seen in a while...
rubber mallet the caps off bro lol quickest easiest way to do it with no risk of damage
Honda Street Garage that's what I meant let's say you took the head off and saw the block was bad would they still work with you
sguzman116 that's what a compression test is for.... And with low miles it's unlikely to have many issues.
If they knew you had taken the head off of the engine of a car still under warranty, it would definitely be void.
I liked the old intro music better man. I know it changes every few seasons but it was too good before
LOL, no honda crank pulley bolt will come off with a little electric gun
My 3/8 Milwaukee takes them off just fine and if it every can't...i have it's 1/2 brother lol
Harbor Freight Sockets Lol
work well....
next is a d to b build lol
He says "definitely high compression. The B20B has a low compression ratio of 8.5:1
Thomas Catanzarita except the jdm b20b with the phk pistons witch are high comp has a 9.6:1 comp ratio
hey bro I saw your last video I have a B20 non VTEC that I'm swapping into my Acura Integra LS non VTEC do I still need to use the b18b1 tremasta and power steering pump ?? because I saw that you switch them on yours I know that I have to use the b18b1 intake manifold obviously some help over hear I did get you some views lol
Sammy A I'm sure u can use the b1 bracket. I think he switched his because of the gsr head having different bolt pattern
Wish u could do my car
you don't reply to ppl bro
I have the title for the eg in fl
Whatever your using for background music just sounds like a 98 tercel drive by with shit subs in the trunk LOL
first
3RD
2th
What impact gun you use?
Is there a special tune with using a b20 and gsr head? or will p72 gsr ecu work?
I'm talking, after set timing and assembly.. vtec wiring ect.
