Is such a desire unnatural ? Far from it ! The Scriptures tell us that God has put that desire within us.( Ecclesiaste 3:11) They also say that „God is love”(1 John 4:8). Does it make sense that a loving God would create in us a desire to live forever and then make that desire impossible to realize?

In particular the North East of England has some hidden gems. I prefer the lake district if I go to the trouble to venture that way, but like I said, there are some great hidden gems on the north east..

2. *The Cotswolds* (a region containing hundreds of gorgeous historic stone villages and towns; surrounded by rolling green countryside),
3. *York* (a well preserved medieval city with a huge gothic cathedral),
4. *Cambridge and Oxford* (two beautiful historic cities with world renowned medieval universities that you are able to tour),
5. *A Stately Home* (e.g. “Baroque”: Chatsworth House, Blenheim Palace, Castle Howard; “Tudor”: Burghley House, Knole House, Hardwick Hall; “Medieval”: Haddon Hall, Penshurst Place, Berkeley Castle etc),
6. *A Medieval Castle* (e.g. the castles of Arundel, Bodiam, Alnwick, Windsor, Bamburgh, Warwick, Stokesay, Dover, Leeds [in the Kent countryside not in the city of Leeds], Ludlow etc),
7. *Canterbury* (a very charming medieval city with an important gothic cathedral),

When I arrived in Canterbury, it was a busy bustling city. Now, it`s not as busy but still as beautiful. However, some building recent buildings are not that great and does not fot the city.
@@nicolasbellanger6322 There was actually a relatively small part of Canterbury that was bombed during the “Baedeker Blitz”; a bombing campaign that targeted architecturally important English cities during WW2, therefore that is the more modern section (the area around Saint George’s Tower [the rest of the church was bombed out]). However away from that area the rest of the city is well preserved and I agree very beautiful - with a huge amount of important medieval religious/ domestic/ civic architecture. Do you live there?
@@tamaracarter1836 I do live in Canterbury. There`s a log of all the air raids, the damages, and their locations from 1940-1945 at the archives in Canterbury.

When people say England is a bleak country, they’ve only seen London on the TV, it has its downsides and rough areas, but my god it’s not a bleak country. I’m currently living in Australia and always get asked how did you not get depressed living their, I show them this, my home town Richmond North Yorkshire is probably one of the most beautiful places in the UK

@@Spike-yc5gx I agree with you. To say that London is bleak has gobsmacked me! having travelled a lot, I believe London to be one of the most buzzing cities in the world, it is a spectacular city and never, ever boring or bleak, the complete opposite to this!
England is beautiful but in particular Northern England is so underrated, from the Peak District, to bowland, to the Yorkshire moors and dales, then up into the Lake District. If you like urban areas there’s: Manchester, York, Liverpool, Newcastle, Lancaster, Leeds etc. Also the small little towns and villages like: Windermere, Castleton, Whitby etc. The north is overlooked so much and it saddens me, especially since our economy’s would benefit from more tourism. If you’re ever visiting England or the UK in general you should definitely try somewhere up north too.

A lot of travellers come to England via London airports. Make sense for them to travel a bit more on the south to midlands side if the country as oppose to North

If you visit England on a SHORT trip, pick one destination only.....there is so much to see in any one area. This is a good video but, frankly, the suggested top spots are the tip of an iceberg......there are hundreds of beautiful, interesting places to choose from! 😊. PS: Hope the narrator wont mind my pointing out that it is the River Thames......not Thames river.

Durham has to be somewhere there in the top 10 list. With its majestic cathedral, excellent castle, picturesque city center, and university, Durham will always remain in my list.
Durham is no place a tourist wants to go to ffs. Might have special meaning to you but that about it.
Far rather the city of Durham than a pile of old stones in Wiltshire.
@@dogwithwigwamz.7320 Old stones that were used for astronomy by old tribes 5000 years ago, those stones? The only thing you will see in Durham are junkies using needles. Wiltshire is not amazing in general but so many good counties next door with some of the best beaches in the world. But like all good things people are slowly destroying everything with their littering nad drinking and throwing bottles into the sea etc, The UK will have nothing in 50 years.

I just find cities more exiting than a few ancient stones amidst so much grass.
But it is time for me to take a more sedated break. I`m not as young as I used to be.
@@dogwithwigwamz.7320 Fair enough, maybe because I'm still young kinda 29, and grew up in a big city I see a lot of similar stuff anytime I go to a city and just hate it, Everything is overpriced and busy, same shops etc, I haven't done as much travelling as I would like but I just love the wild and countryside, one place that stands out to me was Iceland and the wildness there is something exceptional. Something about being in nature that just seems to make people more chilled and relaxed. Any place you have visited that really gets you excited or stands out from the rest?

I love everything in good old England 😌 .. I have seen wonderful places in this country from great London to Land’s End, I adore Cornwall. But I also dream of visiting the harsher north of England, I hope to do so one day. I live in Northern Europe, but why is England so sweet to me? maybe I lived in England in my previous life 🤔😉🙂.. it seems so 😊

I teach travel to the UK and agree with what you've said so far... but as I've recently tried doing up my own list of places to visit for an upcoming class, I realize it's almost impossible to pick something that everyone would agree with. You just can't... far too many gorgeous, historic places. Also, though I agree with GogledholDin that the North gets serously underrated - so do many parts of the south. And even East Coast! I have traveled extensively through England, and feel like I've only visited maybe 5% of what's really out there. On the first day of class, I ask people what they think of when they think of England. I get tons of different answers and ways of looking at it. All correct! And each worth a lifetime exploring! So, thanks for your view of what the best places are. I don't disagree with you! They are all worth visiting. And so are a few hundred others. :)
Yep, I ran a free Ad free site to the best England had to offer some years ago.
I tried to get funding to keep it ad free but the system did not seem to like my approach so I pulled it off the internet
