Thanks Jason, it’s been a while since I’ve watched some of your videos! It’s actually relaxing to watch!! I enjoy your narration and the information you provide! Have you ever done a video on the cost side and the anticipated payout of these machines? Example, this machine is $250,000, since it’s not the only machine in the barn. What has to happen in order for a farmer to afford this equipment! Guesstimate: $400,000 combine $250,000 for a tractor $150,000 grain truck $150,000 + disc, planter, You can have $1,000,000.00 Real fast in equipment! Not including maintenance costs and facilities to store the equipment! I know the payoff is long term! But this gets pricey! Thanks again for your videos.a” bringing attention to our farmers who deserve a big thank you for keeping us going! My respect to the farmers who work hard every day!!
Jason: “I hope you enjoyed watching” Me: absolutely, my enjoyment meter pegged. Bigtractorpower was the first channel I ever subscribed to a little over 10 years ago. You still put a smile on my face.
Great video. I use tractor IMT 577 and mounted mower conditioner Taarup 3124 8 feat I think its Kubota brand in US. We have much smaller fields in Croatia .To use W200M would be waist of money so this is a only way to see them in work so thanks for that.
There's no visible seed at that stage of growth. Rye straw isn't much different from wheat straw when mature. Except... One's sheath produces a natural antibiotic, the other has an allelopathy effect. Heck, just made me hungry for a Reuben sandwich.
Triple mowers are great. They would not work for this application. The farm puts 36ft drapers on these W200Ms to swath wheat straw for the same straw mat product. You can see the straw swathing at th-cam.com/video/sx2SOJi82Jw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_Fy3CY18IjQQ0Ub3
@bigtractorpower yea knowing the product being used for mat products makes the difference, if it was for the farm or being sold to dairy as feed I would assume the farm wouldn't care as much when cutting
Mowed down cereal rye calculated at 125 lbs. per acre when broadcasted. It took 4 hrs. to mulch my 50' x 75' patch, with a 15 hp. Simplicity Regent lawnmower.
What's the break even point on SP vs Center Pivot cutters? My job runs a C450, and I can put 100 acres down in a good day. At what point of acres does a SP with same head pay back? Over 1000 acres, or more? JW, it's a cool machine!
That is a good question. This farm uses self propelleds because they mow the cereal, rye and swath straw after the wheat is combined. Each of these three windrowers will see several acres of use in May and June. You can see them swathing wheat straw in this video th-cam.com/video/sx2SOJi82Jw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=74VaYDNd7yTc6G9x
Looks like everything on the machine runs from hydraulic motors. Does each drive wheel have it's own motor? The specs on the JD brochure don't say much of anything about it.
It was in the same field. You can see it in this video toward to end as the two W200Ms are running side by side at night. The Case IH did an extra nice job. I only got a few passes of it. I am hoping to get some cab time with it soon.
Is it $230,000 or $270,000? With the daily fuel and operator costs alone with annual depreciation expense and repair and maintenance costs it is difficult to justify the total annual dollars.
Awesome video Jason, We run a New Holland H8040 self propelled wind-rower on our farm....would love to have you come out and video it, I already have some video on my small TH-cam channel if you want to check that out.
WHY such a small header?? Never seen that before! The farmer would be way better off with a triple mower decks mounted on a tractor! Must fell like it takes for ever to mow one field! Kind of like mowing 20 acres with a little push mower! 😃
There was a Case IH in this field as well. I would agree with you. You can see the red mower in this TH-cam short th-cam.com/users/shortsGET-Dd8e29A?si=dewEgVCVJRMnKqq0
@@shaunault7538 probably - Deere have been dining out on their former good reputation for many years now. Plus Case will probably let you fix the machine yourself, in the event of a breakdown, rather than Deere, what with all the furore over right to repair. Been pretty quiet on thst front of late - wonder how it's panning out for them ?
I wouldn't say it's junk, but definitely farmers are paying too much for this kind of equipment. They still need a tractor, even if they buy specialized equipment like this, so there is no savings. If I couldn't hold a steering wheel straight from one end of a field to the other, I'd retire ..... rather than pay for "technology" to do it for me.
Nice to see a mowing video again. I have always enjoyed watching triple mowers, windrowers etc at work.

It's not rye grass. It's cereal rye. Totally different.
It was a healthy crop this year.

I run a NewHolland HW340 with a 16ft discbine header, thats my happy place cutting. looks like those JD were having a hard time with bunching
Awesome video. Awesome machine!! Well done as usual.
Awesome Video!

Used to do the same thing with a 780 Deere swather with a 40 horse air cooled Wisconsin.
The same thing at about 1/3 of the speed.
@@JHruby lol, and at far less cost than the new Deere. So what, it's not a race. The turtle gets the job done.

Cool video Jason. We got some rye that we’ll be harvesting this summer.
What will you harvest it with?
@@bigtractorpower we’ll be using our Gleaner R72 and the 35 foot bean head.
Great video! I hope you recorded the other stages of processing for this!
The plan is too. Still waiting for the rye to dry to bale. Stay tuned.
@@bigtractorpower Sounds great! I didn’t realize it was so current. I appreciate all of your efforts to provide us with this content.

Thank you for watching Stan. Very appreciated.
Id love to use one of those on my hay for a weekend...If the rain ever stops.....Thx Jason
Nice video.
Thank you for watching.
great video! How big was this field?thanks!
258 acres. I hope to catch the baling this weekend.
@@bigtractorpower oh wow thats a bunch!:O Oh yea I would love to see that baling crew/setup! :O
Very nice 👍👍👍
It is a mower.
I just drove by those swathing wheat for seven springs in Cadiz Ky earlier
Very cool. They have developed a great market for the erosion mats.
Good video.
What's causing it to bunch up the material? Goes pretty smooth for a ways and then you see a pile that it left. Why?
The terrain of the field it’s really rolling and rough. The crop is over 5.5 ft tall. It was putting all 200 hp to work.
Looks like everything on the machine runs from hydraulic motors. Does each drive wheel have it's own motor? The specs on the JD brochure don't say much of anything about it.
Why is it always in Kentucky?
Good question. Kentucky is where I live. Of my last 10 videos 3 were in Kentucky the other 7 were filmed in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana and Wisconsin.
The new red mower that you had a video of recently appears to do a better job.

Can you film a John Deere S7?
Nobody is the central region of the US, is driving them right now
270k? Not 230k? For total price
I messed up. We were under high winds and a tornado watch when I finished this. I did not catch it.
👏👏🚜🚜👌👌🇧🇷
13 feet is quite small
Definitely a lot more affordable than having a tractor and triple mowers even if the area covered is a lot smaller
I love rye bread. Ppl can buy a cheap swather but i guarantee ya its not gonna cut that rye down.
It seems to me to be aTriticale not a rye
It was rye. They bale it to make erosion control mats.
Great video. Just a little bit greeen.... lol

I watched the rest of the video. Not feed. Matting. Who knew
