  • My review of the 2020 Lincoln Corsair, which doesn't get nearly enough respect for being an excellent luxury SUV. If you're in the market, you should definitely take one for a test drive. Let me know what you think!

    After months of research I bought a Corsair Reserve, just not the high end one. You couldn’t be more right about the ride and comfort level in this vehicle. I’m a few years away from retirement and this vehicle is absolutely perfect for my needs. It has acoustic glass and massive amounts of sound deadening everywhere. It is sooo quiet inside at 60 mph. I got the trailer hitch too for our bicycles but it can tow up to 3,000 lbs. which may come in handy. Mine has the 2.0 engine and in my opinion, it is all you need. Mine isn’t quite broke in yet but my combined mileage is up to 24.6 right now! I am very light footed though and have yet to use “excite” mode. I just love the vehicle and your review is spot on. This car is a diamond in the rough. Lincoln has a better warranty than most as well. I wanted comfort and quiet, not sport, and this one delivers. I got a great deal too with all the incentives Lincoln offered in September it brought the price way down to where I could afford to get into one and I am glad I did! Great review and well interjected humor. We need more of that in 2020!

      Loved your review. Bought a Reserve in mid-August, due to the pandemic, I’m not driving as much as usual. The dealer recommended the 2.0 over the 2.3...he said not to spend the extra money. I drove Infiniti’s for 25 years...larger, more powerful cars. Honestly, I’m not disappointed, great pick up...quiet, fun to drive. I’ve even been stopped a few times and told how good looking the suv is. My neighbor has a Range Rover, he said mine looks like his had a baby. Hahahaha. Great review.

    Love mine...after driving bigger, more powerful Infiniti’s for 25 years, I was concerned. Have not been disappointed. Thought about Cadillac for about 1 minute, honestly the design looks very tired to me...old school luxury nameplate. Lincoln needs to do more advertising, remind people this is New American luxury...great review.

    I bought a Corsair 2 weeks ago after looking at the competition extensively. I purchased the standard with heated and cooled seats, co pilot 360, sunroof (didn't need that). Received a $6000 off MSRP and the car so far is beautiful. Real head turner and feels luxurious yet sporty. Only issue so far is wipers malfunctioned and had to be replaced. Was concerned about going from an ATS (which I hated) , to an SUV, but actually enjoy driving again. Give it a look if you are in the market.

    The Corsair is a compact luxury crossover I aspire to lease or own for the experience, & I'm 21 right now but I'm a car guy who's into luxury cars. @@jax1079 Yeah I have seen that now & now I am considering a used 2020-2022 Corsair Standard with the same features included optional that come with the Reserve trim, or I’d just get the Reserve trim. I was also considering the 2019-2022 Nautilus Reserve or Black Label because the 2019-2020 models overlap in price with the Corsair, so it all comes down to what I get a better deal on in terms of features for the price. I’m 24 right now, so I’m cross-shopping this Corsair with the 2019-2022 CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve or Signature, the 2019-2022 Acura RDX A-Spec & Advance, & the 2019-2021 Lexus NX 300

    The Nautilus is the refreshed MKX since the second generation MKX came out in 2016 & so Lincoln updated the exterior styling with the 2019 model & gave it the Nautilus name for the refresh. It's not as nice as the Corsair or Aviator interior, but I think it still has a nice interior with premium materials

    I like your review! You should do one on the Aviator. We bought a black label Aviator and absolutely love it!! We have a Nautilus as a loaner while the Aviator gets protectant application and it is hugely disappointing, best suited as a fleet rental with lots of plastic and rubbery surfaces. The Corsair looks like it would be much closer to the Aviator, just not quite as much room as we were looking for. Again, great review...:)

    I loved Corsair until I found out from reading the manual, due to the Pano Moonroof which is included in every Reserve model, the roof is rated to carry zero pounds on the roof rails. Why include roof rails if you can't put anything up there. Why make an SUV that can't take load on the roof. Why not make the Pano roof an option so we can leave it out in order to move our kayaks around. Baffling.

    I would love to see a comparison between Lincoln Corsair and Mercedes GLB, not the GLC. Their price points are almost identical and I would like to see if the Lincoln interior is any more appealing than that great big one piece screen and dash and interior of GLB. I keep leaning towards the glb but I don't like how your hand rests directly on the infotainment pad, especially for shorter drivers that have to sit closer to the steering wheel and dash and could become a distraction

    • @jax1079
      @jax1079  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's an interesting comparison. Price wise, you're correct: the GLB is the direct competitor, but size wise the Corsair is closer to the GLC, so it represents somewhat of a value proposition when comparably equipped, with slightly more vehicle for your money; however the MB's tech is more WOW impressive than the Corsair's. I'm not sure how much of it is actually more impressive, though, meaning the MBs have fancy screens and all that, but in terms of everyday usability, I don't think the Corsair suffers: it's got all the luxury most people require wrapped in a handsome package. It's also likely cheaper to maintain than its German rivals though that's pure speculation on my part based on anecdotal maintenance costs. If you value driving, the MBs might make you happier, but I think the Corsair really nails the effortlessly luxurious vibe the new Lincoln is going for. I'd probably go with the Corsair all things (price) being equal. Thanks for watching and best of luck!

    With the same price, this ride feel more solid than RDX.

    Ford and GM always have issue with their transmission...

    • @jax1079
      @jax1079  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not gonna lie... I've heard there have been some reliability issues here and there. Having tested both the RDX and the Corsair, if it were my money, I'd probably buy the RDX. To be honest, I'm a pretty loyal Honda guy and tend to be biased towards Honda, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. However, if I were just leasing... I'd probably get the Corsair. It feels more special. Hope that helps somewhat, and thanks for watching!

      @@jax1079 the drive of the Lincoln was nothing like a fusion. it too had a similar suspension to the Corsair .. it’s was VERY soft 2017+. And has a better interior .. The fusion sport had 330 HP , AWD with a rear power bias , and pothole detection.. what’s better than that for accord / Camry money?? Fusion platinum LITERALLY had a leather dash board and upper door Panels. It’s the only mainstream non luxury car in this country to have that.... what’s not exceptional about that car in the class with the accord and Camry , and what car in that class is exceptional if not the fusion ?? No way is that description anything like my Corsair, which is bumpy an no way "buttery" smooth. You feel every bump in the road and rock side to side over little bumps. And slow speeds under 20 in heavy traffic or slow areas jerks forward advancing to 20 and jerks back to slow with just taking your foot off the gas. So don't understand all your "smooth transmission" talk.I wish I had my MKC back.
