  • "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine": Chapter 1 written by Ilan Pappe, an Israeli historian.
First published in 2006/2007, Read May 8 2024, 7 months into the newest Nakba.
Edited to add: Thank you to listener Gladys who pointed out that I misspoke; At 23:49, I should have said “1948,” not “1984.” No intention to revise or change someone's text, especially one as critical as this. Not going to rerecord but will note it here for others and for clarity/accountability ^^

    Never again means never again.
Please refrain from conflating all Jews with the Zionist colonial project, we can condemn gross misconduct and genocide without turning to anti-semitism. This historian is a perfect example of someone trying to hold his country accountable to the moral thread of reality and history.
Oh no,,,, he name drops a bunch of people. I think most of them have passed on? I wish it was just the worry of not saying their names wrong. Instead it's oh god I hope I'm not making too much noise to attract the attention of foreign secret service who will try and ruin my future for speaking truth to power but I refuse to shrink reality to fit a closed colonial narrative.

going to be away for a day or so, was considering dropping this tomorrow so there's less gap between chapters but there is an urgency to the violence that asks us to witness and know NOW, not after the mass graves are full or forgotten. Get in touch with www.jewishvoiceforpeace.org/ to hear about followup steps and how to organize with others for change and accountability.

Has no one noticed many of the parts of this audio are only 1.51 minutes long??? They are that way in Drive as well. So the whole book does NOT have the audio. I don’t know who recorded this but it’s incorrect. I would LOVE to be able to listen to whole book. Can someone contact whoever produced this so they could fix it ???

@lcmr8050 they're not 1.51 minutes long on the link, not sure how you're getting that? I didnt upload the placeholder to the drive. They are placeholder videos with the url in the description to the Google drive to the 30min audios because youtube took down another reading. If you're having access issues with clicking the link you can lmk but hundreds of people are following along just fine so I'm not sure if it's technical or user error in this case. I don't know who commented this but it's incorrect 🤔

Do you also have videos on the ethnic cleansing of Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Sudan, and the rest of the countries in the Middle East? Any cursory search into the treatment of Jews in not only Europe, but Russia, North Africa, and the Middle East makes it easy to see why they would pursue a homeland and defend it at all costs. The inability of regional and global powers to broker AND ENFORCE a two state solution with a non-aggression pact is inexcusable and all the people of Israel/Palestine suffer as a result.

I don't I'm just a single person doing this voluntarily because it's necessary and it was on my to read list. I don't even have the time to do this book to be honest, I have to track down work and move but I'm still prioritizing trying to do one every other day at the least. I wish I could read everything people wanted me to, or even everything I wanted me to. Totally agree with you that this was an abject and horrific failure on the British / UN's part as well and that any peace or cohabitation was inherently compromised by the plans they made and enforced on others.

This was not the reason why europeans brought up the idea from Theodor Herzl to build a Jewish state for a Jewish nation. In fact the zionist didn't give a damn about middle east, an idea was also to occupy ruanda and other countries. This was JUST a business deal and a chance because britian offered palestine. All the idea to instrumentalize judaism to sell that project came after the holocaust and was so easy to sell with the legacy of millions suffered. That's so grotesk surreal. The tragedy, the arabic jews who have been hated by the Ashkenazi european jews bought that propaganda and became the most fantatic jews to prove anyone we are part of the project. Without zionism european jews would not even look at mizrahim. It's a shame

The war against the Palestinians did not commence on Oct 7th. It began in 1948 . The Palestinians were not involved in the Holocaust but have paid the price for what Christians did.

Israel no longer have the promise land :
According to the Old Testament Bible, the Israelites/Jews failed to uphold God's covenant, so they no longer deserved to own the promised land, and they were eliminated from that land, scattered among other nations. Deuteronomy 28 : 15-68. And that has been fulfilled.
According to the New Testament Bible, the Lord Jesus never ordered or prophesied the Israelites/Jews to establish the state of Israel in the promised land, as happened on May 15, 1948.
According to the New Testament Bible, the Lord Jesus never ordered or prophesied that the Israelites/Jews in the diaspora throughout the world would return to the Promised Land: occupy it, control it, then establish the state of Israel there, and kill and expel the Arabs who were there.
In fact, the opposite is true: in the New Testament Bible, the Lord Jesus commands his disciples (true Israelites/Jews) to leave the promised land, go into a diaspora, spread to all the nations of the world to preach the gospel. Matthew 28: 19, Acts 1: 8
Even the Lord Jesus prophesied about the destruction of the temple of God, and the elimination of the Israelites/Jews from the promised land, then being scattered again throughout the world, (because they rejected Jesus) and that has been fulfilled: Luke 21: 5-24

What Pappe describes is the painfull birth of a nation, in this case, Israel. Is there a country in the world that didn't went to war, invade, be invaded, expultion, massacres etc for centuries until the territory is established? Russia is now at war to conquer territory again.

Who says we need to continue this way of operating? Billions of people around the globe reject this. South Africa threw off its apartheid. The barbaric methods of oppression, subjugation, cleansing and genocide on the part of Israel can only result in that state's corrosion from within.

By the logic of what you said, October 7th could as easily be justified by its perpetrators as the kind of events that necessarily accompany the birth - or in the case of Palestine ‘rebirth’ - of a nation.

    • @S3Abbas

Whether or whether there are not, Israel is truly the last of the colonial nations that's somehow been allowed to exist this long and it uses mechanisms like ethnic cleansing, massacres, and apartheid to fulfill its ends on the indigenous Palestinian population of the land. After world war 2 we decided that as a species we've grown past this, with a singular exception.

    • @fragosa
      @fragosa 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@screensafety8015 History is full of barbaric massacres, special i n the midle age, and Oct 7th is for sure one of the worst. Palestine is a region, not a nation, yet. Hopefully it will be, according to, again History, the palestinian leaders refused several proposalsfor creating a palestinian state. In my life time two, I belive. Yasser Arafat was egiptian and yet he was the palestinian leader for decades, he broght nothing but misery and dead to the palestinian people and billions of dollars to his bank account. Now they have Hamas who's leaders net worth billions and the people have close to nothing. Do you wonder why Egipt and Jordan refuse to take palestinians? or why hamas wants to change refugies for prisioners instead of their own children? I grew up with this "forever war" and the diference now is that most arab countries dont want Hamas, so if a true palestinian leader comes forward I m sure it will be possible to finally create a flourish nation where men and women can give birth to children knowing they'll be happy and healthy. It's the world's deepest wish.
