The Anarchist Audio Library
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 6 มี.ค. 2017
Welcome!
I consider myself someone who studies the soul, love, buddhism, anarchism, abolition, liberation and all the ways those speak to and through each other and intertwine. I record and share some of the sacred stories that have shaped me, essays, poems, books, prose, whatever works ask to be heard; to heal some of the worlds' broken heart and woundedness. It started out as a way to work with my self hate and be able to hear my voice with honesty.
I shouted into the void and I guess the void liked it~
I love this little community
I have the full mastered audios on google drive

Thank you for sharing!
thank you so much for making this information accesible to us! <3
Awesome, thank you so much for this.
Ok, so far I have a problem with this author. I just finished gathering moss and now I'm starting this. She often cites this idea of "indigenous ways of knowing" but then she makes total falsehoods like saying Sweet grass was the first plant to appear on earth, or that the earth was young when man first appeared. That couldn't be more wrong. Grass is a monocot. With seeds, roots, and full vascularity. In fact, the grasses happen to be among the NEWEST plants on earth. NOT the oldest. And she just says it's indigenous ways of knowing and so many people read that and think that what she's saying it true, when it's dead wrong. And I've heard many more examples from her other book. We're off to a bad start with this one. Why is nobody else calling this author out on these falsehoods? She puts the word "scientific" in her book title and makes such egregious mistakes as that, plus many others just like it. If she's a bryologist she really knows better.
I can hearn't you. I'll come back when I find some louder speakers. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this resource. I've been listening through these chapters at work

What is that ending with the murmuring lmao
Thanks for all this effort.
Thank you for this!
This idea of entire concepts being bound up in the words first used for them is powerful. "Lost in translation" is common experience and RWK takes it to a deeper place in this chapter. A bit of a tangent but I could not help but be reminded of Evan Pritchard's "Native New Yorkers" and how he lays out the evolution of the naming of tribes and places. He gives dozen examples of now commonly used names that were originally either misunderstandings or were derogatory: Cheyenne = “They speak gibberish” in the Lakota language Canada = “This is my village” in Huron language Iroquois = “They are mean” Lenape = The real people or, literally, “We the people” Algonquin = came from a French (Samuel de Champlain) mispronunciation of Maliseet language meaning “these people are our allies” Micmac (or Mi’kmaq) = French slang for “this and that” Mohawk = “Cannibal” in the Narragansett language Arapaho = “People with many skins” in the Crow language Wappinger = Little opossum, or 'the opossum people'
Thank you for being a great person and sharing this with us!

I remember reading this at an early age, and my take away at that time was.. if I'm late, it's not going to make a difference.
Listening to native stories makes me so emotional. Shoutout my ancestors ❤️🔥
I am a male gardener , I am the brother/father of the sisters that pulls weeds and pushes seeds ,till soil and soul. I am here to lend my energy to their creation.
Thank you!
Thanks for helping in bringing the truth out
It's funny how terfs enforce the patriarchy by repeating the idea that a penis is inherently dangerous
TERFs were always reactionaries. No way forward is going to be built off of something with the word exclusion
Thank you so much for the reading. Your voice and pace make it very easy to understand, even for non-native speakers. I am super grateful for your work!
omg the purring this is next level asmr audio book experience
