In no way am i in ANY kind of position to afford anything near this beast but i still watch your videos. I genuinely ENJOY all of your content! Thanks for all you do. Have a wonderful day, friends.
Thank you, I really appreciate that. Thanks for watching my friend.
😂 me to
build it yourself, for maybe half the cost or less
For some reason you're the only one that will dare conduct comparisons with these and SVS. It's as if all the others get an envelope slipped under their door to not mention anything negative about SVS.
I just try to provide the data. If the data shows it out performs other products, I can't just deny it lol. But I have been on the receiving end of the angry SVS fans before lol.
@@SpecOfTech Oh wooooow'.. I had a funny feeling something of that nature was going on behind the scenes, smh
@@SpecOfTechNO!!!! SVS is the overlord and hence forth you will not mention any subs in the same breath! 🥴🙃🤪😎🤡😂😂😂😂😂
Thats because most of them are sponsored by svs
Cant wait for the svs17 subs review, pretty sure this will beat it for half the price.
I hope I can get a PB17 in for review in the future. Looks like it will have great performance too, but will be significantly more money than this D9000.
just got a emotiva xs 15...........wish i seen these lol
My first thought was “what an ugly sub” then the price and I thought “what a great deal 😮”
If you had to choose between tbe d9000 and the 8000 pro which one would you choose?
I would choose the D8000 Pro. It has a smaller footprint and slightly more punch. At the sacrifice of a little bit of low end.
At this point, one slot port would make more sense than than 30 small tubes😂
Haha, but they do their job well. I haven't experienced noisy chuffing like I did with the SVS PB16.
Ported is actually giving you another 7-8ish dB.... at 20 Hz! Not like 30, but actually 20. And the best part it rolls over only at 13 Hz, not like many other ported subs I've heard with the higher tuning, when they actually die way before 20 Hz compared to the sealed ones. 20 Hz @113 dB feels amazing too, if this doesn't create harmonics at like 40ish Hz in certain rooms, that's amazing performance.
You can flat the 31 Hz peak no problem and meet with the 113 dB at 20 Hz making extremely flat response. Two subs like that is all you basically need, with lets say 115 dB at 20 Hz
How would the d8000 (or similar in the tonewinner line up) compare to the Klipsch rp1600sw?
The Klipsch sub is pretty great, obviously not going to steal the market share from perlisten d215s market, but at this price range, why get the tonewinner when the klispch is cheaper? Not slander, genuine question as im in the market for either And Can't demo unfortunately,
I haven't directly compared them, so this reply will just be based on the physics of subwoofers. The D8000, D8000 Pro and D9000 all have significantly more power, and significantly more cone area than the Klipsch subwoofer. It would be very safe to say that they would all out perform the Klipsch, by a significant margin. That is regarding output and SPL. Without going into too much detail, there is a good chance that those Tonewinner offerings would offer enough SPL to be the equivalent of 2 Klipsch 1600's.
Real question, why 6 smaller holes and not 1 larger one?
I think I'm good but thank you for the video. Why? Well a couple nights ago after a few hours in my office my wife said "you need help and need to go see the ear doctor" apparently I was shaking the living room mantle and dishes in the sink 👊🏽💥🔊😎😎😎 Dual SB13's, Dual sealed 15" subs from another brand which I will not name (company irritates me 💥) but these 4 pound my 10'x10' office .... oh and Sicario is a damn good movie!!! 7.4.4 🔊🔊🔊🔊
Haha, if your wife is already annoyed, you definitely don't want to add more bass. Sicario is a damn good movie!
What would you say is the best sub u der $2500? Not just in output for sound for both music and movies? Thanks
Under $2500 CAD or under $2500 USD?
Hey buddy great review and love the measurement graphs. Question. I have the D8000 and soon want to buy one more sub. I'm thinking the D9000. Would it suit the D8000 or blend well with it or will it not match and should I stick to another D8000?
@SpecOfTech- Great video 🎉. I personally would like to see when compression is seen on your freq. Response/output graphs, to go 1db down till its clean. I like to have a more fair maximum comparison, as some maybe giving up a full 2db of clean output, when you just take 3db away. I have a request, would you consider testing the New model of powered subwoofer from Starke Sounds= The ( SW15P ) = a single 15" driver, in a ported enclosure, powered by a 450 watt RMS/900 watt peak amplifier, for $999 USD. I would like to see if it is the New Bang for the Buck= Best Powered Subwoofer, under $1000 USD, as far as Output, Deep Bass Extension, & Sound Quality!? Please consider, thank you.
Instead of dual 15'' subs they should have made a dual 18''. This is good though, hopefully it competes with and/or blows the SVS PB17 and SB17 out of the water. Shame on them for milking the subwoofer sizes with a minor 1'' increase in size. 10 years of milking the 17'' series they'll finally come out with the 18''.
Not sure what made them do Six ports (🤔🤷♂️), most sub mfgs use either 2 or 3.
Dang, my boi. I’ll pour one out for you. Those room acoustics are brutal.
What's neat is when you're watching this video, sitting on your back deck, and a big ol' CN train rolls by the field. I'd say 22-28Hz, so you could buy a train, or buy this sub, and have it play lower! 😊
107db max on the X15. Just looked up your video 😄
18hz below you doing damage to everything
I needs to compare this to my X15 haha
Wow that's cheap! No.... No. I bought two 15s, 2 cabinets, and an amp. For around 2200 less than that. I'm happy with it.
Cool
Looks good. Nice overview and tests =)
Thank you!
Big bada boom!
All your videos are awesome objective information with subjective personal likes. 👍
Thank you, I appreciate that, and thanks for watching.
Man, i was hoping to see the performance of the dual sub. Do you plan on reviewing the dually?
Yes, that will be coming in the next couple of weeks too.
I think its priced a little high to be honest. The monolith 16 is quiet a bit cheaper especially when found on sale and will give this one a run for its money. But there are some some cool features on this and I would take this over the SVS PB16 or the new PB17 but we need to the see performance of the new 17 from SVS. This sub should really be around $2k
It's tough to say for sure, but the 18" D9000 may just out perform the Monolith 16. The D9000 has has an 18" driver, which would have significantly more cone area than the 16" Monolith. The Monolith does have 500 more watts RMS, which will make up for a some of that, but not all of it. I think in the end they would be fairly close in performance, with the D9000 edging out a win (possibly).
We also have to remember that with the Tonewinner app that allows for you to fine tune the D9000 in many ways, including your own PEQ's. This is a huge benefit for bass management, and DEFINITELY adds some value.
I believe, with all that considered the D9000 is priced just about right at $2399, over the Monolith's $2000 USD price tag. That's just my opinion.
@@SpecOfTech The Monolith 16 is really an 18 inch driver depending on how you measure it. They stuck with the "16" as it was a shot at the SVS PB16. It would be good with Audioholics tested the D9000 as well so we can how it measures up. Its good to have options
Hey I need an honest opinion I heard this sub is sloppy and not good or musical at all and it's only good for movies 🤷
Where did you hear that? These subs were just released, I don't think there are any out in the wild yet. Large driver subwoofers are arguably better for music than small subwoofers. They have larger cone area. Making it easier for them to replicate dynamic SPL's in the lower octaves, because they hardly have to move to produce them. Smaller subs often introduce more distortion in dynamic bass sequences, because they need to move much closer to their Xmax, or even to their Xmax, to produce dynamic bass sequences.
Long story short, I think you'd be surprised at how musical an 18" subwoofer like this can be if dialed in correctly.
How do you think this would work as a near field sub?
haha it would be intense. You'd get impressive amounts of tactile response, and you would absolutely feel it in your chest.
you just couldn't resist...could you?😁
lol
Show us their klippel measurement data.
No point having a TH-camr provide REW measurements, which are room influenced
Lol you aren't demanding at all, are you? How much do you think YT'ers make? I'll tell you what, if you donate the $100,000 to buy the Klippel machine, I'll use it...deal?
Oh, and I'll need a new house, because that machine pretty much needs its own room, and I don't have room for that in my current house with my family of 5 😉.
😂 mate, you know how much a klippel costs?
lol Those ports are unsightly
haha yeah maybe, but they sure do their job well. I haven't experienced any noticeable port chuffing like I did on something like the SVS PB16 Ultra.
i'm also curious about Tonewinners dual side opposed 15" and how this also performs to the dual front firing 15". Would the dual side opposed produce a cleaner response?
The D8000 has good performance, but the D8000 Pro has better performance. If output is your goal the D8000 Pro is the better subwoofer. As far as "clean", they would be basically identical, same drivers and essentially the same amplifier. The D8000 Pro just has more cabinet volume.
@@SpecOfTech Understood. I still think it would be interesting to see if the dual opposed produced better THD figures across its operating band. It may not go as loud as the larger dual box but I am thinking it may counter for a more musical, connected sounding sub. Much like Arendal 2V or even the M&K push pull designs.
BASS LEVEL OVER 9000!?!?!?!?!?
lol
I want 2 of those big boys thanks for the video my friend cheers 👍🍺
2 would be so intense. You'd be in bass heaven for sure.
@@SpecOfTech He'll yes great video bro and thanks for the reply 👍 cheers bro.🍺👍🍺
D9000 has port chuffing?
No, I haven't experienced any port chuffing yet. Those 6 ports may look weird lol, but they seem to do their job very well.
@@SpecOfTechThat's what I thinking those 6 ports should move pressure pretty easily without chuffing not like svs pb16 ultra. And now they make svs pb17 ultra with same 3 ports and probably same problems.
zidoo uhd8000 review soon ?🤔
haha, nothing gets passed you. Next weekend if all goes according to plan.
@@SpecOfTech ok👍
Awesome video Barrett love seeing these subs work. 😎
Thanks brother.
Great video dude! Looking forward to the next one!
I know you had a D8000 in your room, did you ever had the chance to measure that one? I am curious how this one compares to the D8000 pro.
Same here. I bought the D8000 and spec wise it looks pretty similar to the pro. My problem is where I have it, one side is near a loungeroom window so it vibrates heavily in movies haha. Hope it doesn't do top much damage. I don't really have any other spot it can fit in my small room, I know it's not ideal.
I think I may have some measurements for the D8000. It had more than the D6000, but not enough more IMO. The D8000 Pro has the cabinet space to make it worth it. It has a ton of output. If you watch my previous introduction video on the D8000 Pro and D9000 I do show a REW graph that shows the 2 and give a quick description of the differences.
Great review my friend. I really like the woofer but wish it was not so deep. It's going to stick way out in a room. 🫨
