There's very little difference @James. You can give it a bit more fertiliser, and it needs warmth all the time to do well, best temperature range is 20 - 30°C. That's it.
Wish This variety was easier to get in my country, such a gorgious plant! Have you tried those ceramic tips you screw onto a tube? They are supposed to keep the soil moist when you fill the reservoir. Was wondering if something like that could work
I haven't tried those Sandy, haven't needed to yet. They are usually attached to a bottle, I think, and take up too much space for me. You can get P. ridleyi from cycadales.eu.
Absolutely beautiful Platecyrium Fern plant
You could save yourself the trouble and just hook it up to an IV, you just set the drip rate to a couple drops an hour
I've tried that Jerry. They get clogged up too easily, especially at very low drip rates. This way is almost no bother at all.
Nice to see that you've managed to cultivate a ridleyi here in Uk! I've never seen one here to sell!
I'll be selling some in spring 2022.
@@karstent8138 cool! I will keep my eye on it!!! 🧐
where did you get it? any suggestions where can I find this plant in spain/europe?
I grew this myself from a spore @Nicolo. The only seller of these that I know in Europe apart from me is cycadales.eu in France.
I would love to see a video on indoor care for ridleyi. Almost everything else is about bifurcatum. Just got my first ridleyi.

Nicee frien
You can water it through the fertile
Fronds.
Yes, that's the way in nature. Not always so easy though in cultivation! The syringe method works really well in this case.
