Easily Unlock Andriod Auto Apple Carplay To Get Waze, All Apps & 1080p Resolution In MBUX!

- * Note in the video I repeatedly use the term CarPlay or Auto CarPlay to refer to both Andriod Auto and Apple CarPlay. This video may apply to all current cars that utilized either Andriod Auto or Apple CarPlay to allow Android and iPhones to provide the drivers with navigation and infotainment features.
If you find you can't use many apps like Waze or your Auto/ CarPlay screen is low res then this video will help you.
Vehicle: 2021 GLB250 MBUX with wired Auto/CarPlay
Phone: 2019 Samsung Galaxy S10 plus
Issue: our 2020 Test Drive GLB had Waze Navigation and a 1080p Wide Auto/CarPlay screen. The 2021 GLB did not have these amenities. The Dealership was no help since Auto/CarPlay software is not something they service or monitor.
Solution: After searching for two weeks on the web I found a single paragraph at the bottom of a Auto/CarPlay related page that vaguely mentions unlocking the App into a Developer Mode to allow "unknown sources" meaning any app you want will show on your Auto/CarPlay. There is also lots other Easter eggs to play with but for us upgrading the standard boxy 720p res to 1080p was a delight especially since to latest MBUX letter box screens over so much real estate! - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต

Question: say I’m driving down to ma ghetto with Waze on the screen. And I would like to change some settings ... is it easy to come out of Waze for a moment then instantly jump back in Waze again?
Is using Waze on the screen practical? I mean .. why not just to Waze on the phone on your dashboard and keep the screen for selecting music or change settings etc?
Yes you can switch between Waze and the music easily. I would keep Waze on the dash screen sine the po po can pull you over for using you cellphone whiles driving thru your hood

Everytime I get back in the car leaving a gas station or shopping etc., the last Android auto app like Sirius/TH-cam music/Spotify, will resume but only play from phone speakers? Sometimes it will do it to all the music apps, sometimes it won’t do it at all. Any chance you can help out? I went into settings and unchecked auto start and auto resume hoping that would cure it, but to no avail sir.

I have a w213 Mercedes and I too am in the hunt to solve the "won't fill the entire screen" issue. You've improved the resolution here, but the AA still isn't going the full screen like new car models have. I've seen one video where they use some screen mirror cast feature so I'm trying that route next.
Have you got a link to the video you mention? I have a late 2018 W205 and I'm trying to get rid of the waste of space that is the AA logo that covers 1/3 of the screen.
Oh wait I think I found it. I would not use that method as you will have security issues and I also imagine you have to have your phone unlocked to run. I close my central armrest with my phone locked while driving. MB need to fix this!

In the google maps clicking on the N would fix the issue of having to keep re centering

Hi, I just got my new Mercedes A250E, and when I try to open the browser on the MBUX an error message pops up saying "A website error has occurred" and it doesn't loads web pages. Do you have a clue why this is happening to me?
Hi, Thanks for the video but I have a basic question, do we need to buy smartphone integration package to get the android auto working because I connected my phone with cable or wireless still android auto doesn't show up. I have a eqc 400 and my mercedes me app show smartphone integration package is £299.
Yes you need to purchase that package. But I would call your salesman or someone at the dealership to see if you can get in installed for free. If you did not purchase or lease your eqc400 from an authorized MB dealership then they will not waive the package fee.

the fact that even with a work around you can only get it to take up part of the screen shows just how much mercedes screwed this up
in my 2011 suzuki sx4 i installed a sony head unit with wireless android auto and carplay. its better than the built in navigation on any car ever because it just connects straight to my phone and works perfectly without issue every single time. idk how such an expensive car messed this up, really dissapointed in mercedes

No. You would have to do something like a jailbreak for that feature. In NYC there is a guy in Brooklyn that does that.
@@olaf2046 I have jailbreak. Tweak calls CarBridge and it takes any apps in CarPlay. I have TH-cam, Facebook etc.
if you have iOS up to version 14.3, you can do Jailbreak on any iPhone. By jailbreak you do not lose the warranty on the phone. This tool is called "unc0ver". It's easy. You have many video tutorial on TH-cam. Write "How to Jailbreak unc0ver"
I just bought a GLB 250 and the music sound on android auto with the Burmester system is very low. Is there a way to fix it? Is there an update for the MBUX or Burmester sound system that fixes this issue?
Turn off sound check in your iPhone settings, scroll to music and click music turn that setting off.

Just got. 2022 and it says navigation is deactivated. I have never experienced having a benz with no navigation. Weird

After a year with this. I will tell you it sucks. You can unlock it for TH-cam and Netflix etc... but it is just feels like I'm doing too much everytime I get in the car. Right now all we use is Sirius and Google/Waze maps. Just get the Navi media package on your 50k Benz. Don't rely of andriod/apple carplay as a replacement for an in car Navi media package.

I think he meant it doesn't come standard as it is an extra cost.
@@Nick-kq2sw yes true earlier mercedes had gps but now they seperated with Mbux system and normal one I recently spec E450 and found canada and US packages are totally different. US ones are cheaper cost wise and available individually.
