I would realy love for an update of Going in Blind for you to be able to see outside only. It just would feel more balanced
I mean you’d have at least google maps to view the outside irl so I don’t see why anyone would be against this.
I'm sure you could just tweak a couple of values, modding this game is incredibly easy
yeah plus when you are getting out of your car, you can see allot more of the outside then this XD
Agreed. Maybe treat it with drone rules so that if it’s not covered by a roof then you can see it. I think not being able to see where windows and doors are is a bit of an issue
Hi! Author of the mod here! I honestly don't know how to make outside areas visible without also making indoor areas visible. I invite anyone to share some knowledge about the FOV aspect of the game since I do not know exactly how it works. I would appreciate some help on this, and will update the mod and add credits! Absolutely. Great job on the AAR, Karma. These videos are just as informative-if not more so-to newbies as when you do everything properly.
This is a mechanic that should be in the campaign when it's released. Maybe a system where you have to put limited points into a recon slot, and you get varying degrees of layouts, going from full fog of war, to only having exterior, and then the vanilla. Ultimate general has a similar mechanic, your general can gain skill in reconnaissance so you gain information on the enemy, how many units, how skilled, where they're coming from, but if you dont have points in recon you go in blind

Karma - brings 2 full squads. Also Karma - Uses one squad for 80% of the time and slowly bleeds part of that squad off as the map progresses.
Containment and assault elements
I love these videos because ge doesn't approach it like hes playing a game he really stops to think about real tactics its very interesting to get a peak into that. I love how he decided to move his troops just because they were in a position where they were in a line of a fire then he found an opening because of it
Love the DK2 videos again. Also you can quickly check ammo counts by using the down arrow at the top left for a summary of your team.
You need to be fairly close to the VIP to yell at them to stop, unfortunately. Flashbangs do also work to hold them up, I think you still need a guy in proximity to get them to hold still though.

The surveillance camera hack is in vanilla. And yeah, HVT will ignore you unless you're close enough. In most of the relatively compact maps it's not an issue, but it obviously was here. Excellent blind play though, especially with that mod!
in case you do not know this: When you click on the little arrow in the upper left corner pointing downwards, you get an overview of your squad, with ammunition and gear and health status. You can also quick select any member and zoom in on him
Ares is cool and all, but definitely check out the Tier One Overhaul as well, adds some realism-based changes to suppression, shooting mechanics (units fire mostly in semi auto in groupings of 2), suppression mechanics, better sounds and FX etc.

I don't know how well this would translate to the game - but just a tip in general; When and if you are assaulting a compound of that size with multiple points of ingress, with multiple large stacks, a simultaneous split-breach can be extremely advantageous. Instead of funneling all of your personnel into a single corridor or section of the structure, or doing two groups consecutively and allowing the enemy to converge with most or all of their combatants, you force them into a decision immediately. If they do converge with all of their personnel on one side, they are going to be exposed and very possibly flanked, if they don't then you are effectively reducing their capabilities by half. Knowing you have nowhere to retreat to when engaged in a fire-fight with a superior force is soul crushing. You're also able to hold angles you wouldn't typically be able to because you are sectioning off the building. Also, I noticed you can interchange between crouching and standing, that can be an incredibly useful tool for pieing corners. Changing elevations, angles, and holds is crucial in CQB.
Also, regarding the guy that got your operator hiding behind that door, I don't know if this would have worked, but I'm guessing you could have used the "Suppress" command with one or more of the other dudes in the stack to fire through the door to immediately return fire on that guy. I know enemies can fire through doors like that, never tried it with player-controlled characters though, but I would have to imagine that would work.
Ouch, that is reaaly limited info - you should really start with terrain vision 360 from all operatives (if not how did they get to that point?). Honestly the outdoor terrain should be known even if fortification, vehicles and the interior are not (I can't believe anyone would run an op without at least a satellite photo of the area).
You ever work in the private sector? Zero ISR is the norm. Feds treat contractors like mushrooms... feed em shit and keep em in the dark. Now get it done LOL

they pretty much do know the info the shape of the coumpound, the open space, the only thing not known is the position of enemies, mabye doors and the enterior of the building

You could've also moved your right side two stack up more the moment you cleared all of the rooms before the large hallway and the conference room. Just to get either eyes on through the windows or to better secure the escape path. That or you couldve also moved part of your containment team up through the opposite end now that there is less that needs coverage.

When I did this level in vanilla,, i had two guys on the backside of the objective. I kitted them out to be stealth with MP5SD´s and had them clear the backside, then they snuck in and got control of the cameras and cut the power to the building. Then I had my six front assaulters go through the lower portion of the building by breaching the same spot as he did. I then parked cleared the room in front of the breach and parked a guy there for security, then I continued breaching out of the little room to the space outside on the side of the building. I then moved to the next part of the building that poked out. I then breached in and cleared my way to the HVT and got him. Then I just backtracked through my newly made entrance and extracted the HVT and my guys. I never went into the courtyard as I deemed it suicidal with only eight guys. Playing the game without this mod is basically just trying to find a way to cheat the game and less about actual tactics. The amount of guys works on the smaller levels, but with these new large map it becomes way less realistic.
Can someone tell Karmakut to please give us more Door Kicker 2 content and sth about ur failed raids is they are very educational when you do reviews on how to conduct it clean please upload raids that went sideways too.Kudos dude

I mean DK2 doesn’t hold back in the vanilla game which in itself can be pretty challenging, but in contrast to this it kinda feels like child’s play!

the alternate fix I think would be to move the other 3 stack in the hall to get an angle on the open door where you lost your guy

The Mark 46 is basically the M249 but lighter by taking off the M4 magazine well.
I love doorkickers but it's definitely got some rough spots around the edges. Like for me, the more soldiers on the field the more you have to spend time with the game paused microing eachone. It would be nice if the soldiers has a limited AI that took some of the micro away. What are some other pain points or features you guys would like to see in this game?

there is a range for calling the HVT to surrender and you need to have a wide enough vision for him to actually stop.
the most likely thing you could have done in that situation would have been moving up the secure elements in the back along side the assault elements, that would be the only way you can get a guy to run up and actually stop him from running to the helipad in time
I mean, I think you could also stop the helicopter, maybe.

Man... it's such a mindfuck seeing you play our mod(Project ARES). What the shiiiiiiiit. 3:30 We have a compatibility addon that goes alongside AnthonyNonStop's Camo Selector mod, you can get ACUs in UCP this way. :). We're also slowly approaching the finish line with our Delta Force module which will come with a substantial update for the entire mod. :D

I'm glad to know that I am not the only one who gets really wrecked when someone dies (either on my team, or a person I could have neutralised non-lethally) because of a fuck-up I made.

Love this mod, but at the same time I wish they were more up to date on tech gear and offered drones of some kind in the kits
We're experimenting with drones on Project ARES, they're quite jank though.

I went through the first set of missions and unlocked a few things, specifically suppressors, but when I went to the second set of missions I couldn’t use them. Bug? Mechanic?
Only some weapons can use suppressors. The one for the M9 pistol is only for the M9 pistol, also. Maybe that's it?

The going in blind mod is kinda unrealistic. If its an extraction, you almost always have prior exterior surveillance, you usually know where the doors and windows are at the least and whats outside the structure.
