This year, I am fasting from meat, cheese, alcohol and sugar(white) and may add Sundays. Our country needs fasting to rid us of the curse of communists and other traitors trying to destroy us! Viva Cristo Rey.
You’re right. Communists are in our heads of state offices, a CURSE and a chastisement to our country, pray, fast DO PENANCE, give alms. Deny yourself and pick up your cross, make amends for our children🤔 because they have been mislead.

Once Lent is over, people forget to be hungry. trust me I'm 55 yrs old. Almost all my life on Good Friday, I crave steak, although most of my life I rarely eat it. I've been abstaining from meat, dairy, eggs First Day of Lent, Great Friday, Christmas Eve, Theophany Eve. We also abstain from meat most Fridays and Beheading of John the Baptist and Exaltation of Holy Cross. Cravings come when you're told ''No''. I all of of a sudden become super weak First Day of Lent.
Those are Polish Easter baskets. I think Ukrainians have Easter baskets like that as well. I’ve been practicing that tradition since I was a little child and am teaching it to my kids. Our FSSP parish has taken up this tradition and encourages the faithful to get their proper Easter baskets blessed on holy Saturday

Wheat and other grains and foods are GMO, ultra hybridized for increaed yield, grown and harvested with Round-Up, and a lot of people can't tolerate it. That said, I could certainly give up things that taste good and wine or sugar in coffee, etc. :) I used to keep the strict Eastern Orthodox fasts but it kind of made me sick. I understand why now. I might have been able to eat the bread and pasta 100 years ago. But not now.
I feel the same, I actually get fat eating carbs and the lentils and beans hurt my stomach. I don’t know maybe the penance should be to make me sick. Not sure yet.

Every year we do the Daniel diet: we eat fruit, nuts, seeds and vegetables. Nothing else. We avoid grain, too. It's a blessing to offer up ones 2 fish and 5 loaves for Christ!
I follow what is in the saint Joseph Missal: abstinence on every Friday, Ash Wednesday, and ember days. One full meal with meat during lent, with no more than two small meatless meals if needed. On Good Friday I don’t eat. Last year I didn’t eat for 40 hours from Good Thursday to Saturday noon but that made me feel very weak so I waisted that day doing nothing. I’ll stick to a 24 hour fast from now on.

Perhaps you could pray, meditate and ask for guidance from your Maker, rather than have a prepared video presented to you. Researching and studying the lives of the Saints can be a worthy Lenten past time. Yip you have made it clear the punishment for not fasting etc during Lent, how about you give a sermon on what the Priests Bishops, and cardinals can expect from slamming the Church door closed because of a Virus. Slammed the doors shut the very day our Lord hung on the cross, denying the sacraments to the faithful. So you constantly tell us what to expect. So I want to know what you expect. I am willing to bet that 1000 years of not eating meat will not make up for closing the church to the flock, the first time since 1207, slamming the door shut the very time when it was needed most.
I feel like corruption seeps in when the story is to mar the flesh God spun together instead of penance by DOING TO ALLEVIATE the suffering of others and to honour the beauty of God. Not indulging in things not good for us.. the extreme of that is wearing a hair shirt? This seems rude, unnatural and ugly-sounding. God is not that seems to me!

I am increasing my prayers and will follow the one meal a day sans dairy and meat as prescribed in this sermon.
In every grocery store, Lent looks as if Easter has arrived.
To be fair, busineses have to sell to help you prepare.
They start putting that stuff out long before now. I think some of it even comes out in January.
