    Christy was told that her mother shot her, and raised by the prosecutor and his wife. Now that she's grown, she has no idea if that is true or not, since she doesn't know who shot her. She's been with the posecutor for all these years, and I'm sure she doesn't want to cause him trouble or go up against him. That's why she doesn't speak up. He knows the truth, but has gone to great lengths to keep any evidence from being provided that would make anyone know Diane is innocent. As a group, we investigated the case for over 8 yrs. and every time we came up with evidence, we were threatened with jail if we continued. The tape of Christie got death threats for us. They wanted that tape. We wouldn't turn it over. So, then it was said to be of questionable content and we all along we were called names and the prosecutor and his "gang" tried to discredit our findings. It got to the point where several of us didn't feel safe at all, due to some of the tactics used by the prosecutor's office. Pure and simple, they didn't want the truth to come out, because they'd have one hell of a lot of explaining to do,,,I shared this, is not written by me,

      This is foolish beyond belief. Anyone who jumps on these bandwagons of killers being innocent when it is OBVIOUS that they are usually has a dog in the fight. Be it a sexual attraction or relationship, a money grab, or a garden variety attention seeking bottom feeder......almost forgot Don't, there are the purely unintelligent folks too. Don't know which you are and don't care but you are a fool to try and convince ANYONE ELSE.

      Diane now states that she is possibly the daughter of King Michael of Romania and that hackers shot her kids and it was orchestrated by the FBI. She first said the shaggy haired stranger. Then she said two men in ski masks. Then it was someone she knew who called her by name and referred to her tattoo. She had the motive (Kickerbocker). She had the means (she owned the same kind of gun). She changed her story. She continues to change her story and believes her "kids were the lucky ones" (despite one of them being dead, the other one having a speech impairement due to the stroke and the other one is paralyzed). Every single interview she's in screams GUILTY. You state that you guys "didn't feel safe at all, due to tactics used by the prosecutor's office". According to Diane, you should be fearing hackers, the King of Romania, and the FBI. She states the killer is still out there, ready to hunt the parole board down (she stated she feared for their safety), still wanting to hunt down her surviving kids, and says they are trying to make her sound crazy. If you believe this woman, you're lacking common sense. Have a nice day.

    Her smiling during her interviews is something that lying exerts refer to as "duping delight". They can't help but to smile. Sick right?

  • @delilah2839

    You know what's really tragic about this? She orchestrated this tragedy for a man and he didn't even want her, didn't go back to her, testified against her, and never spoke to her again. She literally shot the only 3 human beings who would have loved her unconditionally, while she discarded them for someone who did not and will not ever love her. Her parole hearing shows she's lost her mind. "She's looney" (as Ann Rule described it). In her parole hearings, I can see glimpses of deep regret. I would bet if she could go back to that night in 1983, she wouldn't have shot them. She reminisced about her kids, talked about how she wished she knew them and her grandkids and you can tell she has regret but cannot bring herself to admit fault. She has to live with the fact that she destroyed lives for absolutely no reason. She deserves to live with that.

    hi Steve, just subscribed. :-)
    The first detail I pounced on was 'how could the radio be playing if Diane had the car keys in her hand as she claims?' .. she has never given an answer to that as far as I know. Emotional vacancy aside, the sheer contradiction gap is ludicrous. Diane's defense is always her nonstop talking .... about herself; she's convinced of her own story to the point of its being her entire identity ~ she now CAN'T break away from her position or else she will self-destruct. I think the *only* thing keeping Diane going is this narrative.
    Regarding the person you began to talk about who says he loves her & gained her trust (and 'emotional openness') .. in certain cult-like environments, the newbies are constantly talked at, rarely left alone long enough to think, and treated with a mixture of love-bombing & guilt trip. The relentless Diane probably inundated the guy with her 'verbalanche' (my word).
    Thank you for this video.

    First don't get me wrong I absolutely believe she did it ! I agree with her on 1 thing and it has been proven over and over again including in the Jaclyn Dowaliby case where the police was fixed on the adopted farther. I believe the police probably manufactured evidence and forced the daughter to testify against the mother only because it took them months to get her to agree... Police are not normally honest so manufacturing evidence and I believe making the daughter taking 8 months of a police referral counselor to testify against the mother is disturbing and leaving me wondering if the police took shortcuts to convict a guilty woman and make this case easy for them ! If the mother wich I believe is guilty then she carefully planed this out and would obviously not leave bullets at the house ! Once again I believe evidence was manufactured... The police had access to the murder weapon so easy to put the bullets in and again manufactured evidence of once again yes a guilty woman but evidence was probably manufactured. I do believe the witness that supposedly following her car were not going to remember her car and I believe that was manufactured because she would not want her car to stand out to anyone and could have turned down other roads and keep prolonging her children's death to complete and get the same results...I do believe she drove extremely slow to let her children die and only one child unfortunately did but grateful the other 2 children survived but I believe the police suspected it and manufactured evidence of a guilty woman by probably paying this witness off ! In the end she deserves to be where she is and will hopefully rot in hell but if you honestly look at the possibility of manufactured evidence your eyes will open more ! I don't want people to worry about a retrial but open your eyes 👀 and suspect manufactured evidence of a guilty woman because the police were looking for shortcuts ! This is just my opinion especially with knowledge of police and how they work or lack there of especially when the case is in the media... Thank you

    We have never heard about the other side of this with her ex husband in this story how it affected him about what happend to the children

    • @stevetrowbridge7425
      @stevetrowbridge7425  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Steve Downs, the husband, was apparently not the best parent either. Him and Diane were on and off since they were like 16 I believe, and only one or two of the kids were his, though I think it was just the one of them. I think it was Christy who was actually biologically his. But anyways, I think he cared about them a lot and did love them, or at least enough to let the prosecutor and his wife adopt his kids, because he didn’t feel as though he would be able to be a proper parental figure for them. So he at least realized that and loved them enough to let them go to a more stable household. While certainly not as bad as Diane, I don’t think Steve was a real winner either.

    She was charged with second degree murder not first. Anne Rule was one of the highly thought of true crime authors. If you are going to do a video on something you would do better if you did better research. Small Sacrifices is the best book about the whole murder. I’m not trying to be rude at all. Just noting this case is old but not old enough for many of us to remember it.

    • @aknorew

      I am sorry but you are wrong. In Oregon, there is only murder and aggravated murder. She was charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and two counts of first-degree assault.
